I read Fred Seaman's book and it seemed to me to be an honest and caring account of John's final year. I know someone very close within the Lennon camp and they told me that the real John is in Fred's book. Yoko's made Fred's life hell since this book came out.

Fred Seaman didn't take Lennon's diary with bad intentions. John Lennon wanted his firstborn son Julian to have his diaries, and Yoko prevented Julian from obtaining them, because she didn't want to acknowledge Julian as John's firstborn child, and has said as much by calling Julian a "mistake", and has claimed that Sean is John's "true firstborn", because he was "wanted and planned". Not even over John's dead body would Yoko give Julian personal evidence that John actually did loved him, and fell out of love with Yoko, but stayed with her because he couldn't function as an adult without supervision or personal assistants, and Yoko had a death grip on every aspect of his life. Yoko doesn't want to public to know that her and John's "legendary love" was a facade, a farce, to prop up her failing "art career".
By the way, Fred Seaman's book has been confirmed by several other books, in particular by DAKOTA DAYS: The true story of John, written by John Green. John Green was the tarot reader for John and Yoko and closed friend in the last 5 years of John’s life. The book quotes Yoko extensively and the quotes are based on his taped conversations with her. The book addresses areas of John's and Yoko's lives -- Yoko's outrageous addiction to superstition, Lennon's depression in the mid-to-late 1970s, etc. -- that Lennon worshippers don't want anyone to know about. In fact, Dakota Days is a very good and extremely readable book which fully exposes Yoko's craziness, some of the problems that plagued the Lennons' marriage, and the creative impotence that tormented Lennon in the late 1970s.

Elliot Mintz seems to have played a role of a publicist more than someone who could be forthright about the idiosyncrasies of what he calls his "friends" in the industry. I once caught him claim that his pal David Cassidy would never say anything negative about his fanbase and I proceeded to share with Elliot an interview where David said some very unflattering comments.
I read that Mintz had an affair with Yoko. It was mentioned in a biography I read about John. I can’t remember the authors name, only that he knew John and Yoko very well and was a good writer. The book was just called Lennon. It was quite a comprehensive account of John’s life. The author said that John wasn’t a recluse and loved spending his time with Sean.

The reason why Fred Seaman took John's journals was out of respect for John's own wishes. Lennon wanted his journals to be given to his older son Julian Lennon in the event that anything happened to him because he knew that Yoko hated Julian and would try to cut him out in multiple ways. Mr. Seaman had to plead guilty to the charge of felony theft because he had no way of proving John's wishes since he was dead. But Fred Seaman is not a thief or a liar - he is actually an honourable man who tried to honour John's wishes even after John's death. Yoko Ono IS an evil and manipulative person. Period.

Also maddening is that because Yoko own's John estate, she blocked photographers and film editors from showing her bed was kept in an obvious area of Apple studios. Previously the Beatles decided not to record with their wives/girlfriends in the studio, but John was under Yoko's power. In another interview, Fred mentioned that John Lennon wanted Julian to have his Journals when he passed. Apparently John told Fred that he was concerned Yoko would not give them to Julian. So Fred took them out of the Dakota to copy. Before he could return them Yoko found out and had Fred arrested. Julian said in an interview, that he had to purchase many things from Yoko that were his, like postcards that Julian sent to John, and a guitar John wanted him to have. Yoko took decades (and probably a lawsuit) to distribute Julian's fair share of the will to him. So sad. Also heartbreaking that Yoko tried to block Paul and John's friendship by filtering calls, & blocking any messages. Evidence also leads to the possibility that Yoko alerted Japanese authorities that Paul had marijuana in his luggage. A few days before Paul was arrested he visited John and mentioned he was bringing it to Japan. Yoko considered Paul a threat.
But Julian was tricked by Fred Seaman too ... Seaman was a thief, which was proven by a police investigation at the home of Fred Seaman. He was a liar, a falsifier too. He just wanted to make money and a name with a book, and over time he become obsessed and neurotic by John and Yoko. So I think you need to find another guy to rely on to blame Yoko for everything.
Read Fred's book. Then read May Pang's. See how many similarities you find between them. Yoko was with John to advance as was the plan she devised with her first husband Tony Cox. Once she was firmly in she cut Tony out of the plan. She was seeing other people and planned on divorcing John while he was in Bermuda. By failing to sue Yoko definitely validates the content in the books as well. Based on the fact that IF she actually had a case she could prove that the content in the manuscripts were false and misleading in a way that is almost bullet proof. Therefore proving that the books are not worth buying or even worth checking out of a public library for free. If Yoko sued for slander or defamation of character she would be able to legally demonstrate that those books are full of lies. Instead Yoko pays her publicist to cast dispersions against the authors character and she sends thugs from the NYPD to assault Fred Seaman. If what these people are saying were true then all the more reason to put those people on the stand to tell the truth under oath which establishes serious penalties for committing perjury. Lennon remains frozen-in-time forever. One of the most popular, talented and enduring people of the 20th century, he has now been dead several years longer than he actually lived. And he continues to fascinate, baffle and entertain thru his music and personal life. I think of him often.

I think John was feeling trapped with Yoko and he didn't know what to do near the end of his life. When John first met Yoko she fascinated him, but as the years rolled by John was beginning to feel restless and his relationship with Yoko didn't interest him like it once did. It is sad what happened to John Lennon and it was tragic because he was murdered.
I don’t think John was a one woman man. I think he was chasing Julia, understandable but not attainable. As irrelevant as this may sound the Beatles were really his true love. I know he rags on the whole thing but Paul was his best foil (they both knew it) and George and Ringo were pretty good at it too. John was anorexic when he died, most anorexics feel there life is out of control, so they control their food intake. He was unrecognisable when he was taken into hospital after the assassination, the doctors had no idea who he was. As a Beatle fan (though I wasn't born in their time) I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and see what John saw in her. But big NOPE. The truth always comes out and facts are facts. Her "art" is neither revered or relevant, and widely panned. I do believe they were in love but it was a romance centered on addiction. Fred is credible. He said in a previous interview that he took the journals because John wanted him to give them to Julian. Mintz is obviously detracting for his friend, Yoko. And I don't doubt Geraldo was on Yoko's side and brought Fred on his show to humiliate and gang up on him and make him seem illegitimate. Geraldo wants to hear what he wants to hear like always. The funny thing about Yoko Ono is that whenever she speaks, my mind shuts down. Her comments fall into 2 catagories. What she says either doesn't ring true, or is so vague and meaningless it's well, vague and meaningless.
She talks like she's on drugs, or just incredibly untethered. I don't think Yoko has ever been an articulate thinker or speaker in either of her languages. I believe she is amoral at her core.
Even as John Lennon’s wife she was in capable of success of any kind whether it was in the art world, the music world or the literary world. She just had no talent and the only one that thought she did was her husband who she got addicted to heroin and manipulated him so much that he ran off for a year and a half. She should’ve been able to capitalize to some degree on his enormous fame and wealth, but just couldn’t because there aren’t people who are dumb enough to buy that garbage of hers. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t had a good laugh listening to those clips of hers. She’s the Pete Best in her chosen field -in capable of producing anything of value, even with the big head start, she got.
Been reading Fred's book, sounds very compelling indeed! I think its very truthful account! Yoko was a very controlling woman and knew how to twist John round her little finger!
John was selling an album. He had a vested interest in keeping the John and Yoko mystique alive. Nobody would buy "Double Fantasy" if John gave an interview telling the truth about his unhappy relationship with Yoko. A lot of what Fred Seaman say's goes along with what many others have said over the years. Yoko did force Julian to purchase a slew of beloved keepsakes that belonged to his father that were meant for Julian. Julian has said that publicly. That he had to pay Yoko a fortune to take possession of property that had already been earmarked for him by his father. Julian said that Yoko even forced him to buy a collection of letters written by both he and John that meant the world to him. Yoko is of the serpents seed. She's always been a horrible "person". You have to do a deep dive into all things Beatles. Especially Cynthia Lennon's memories in regards to how she and John met Yoko. John and Yoko always talked about how they met at an art showing of Yoko's in London. But what they never clued people in on was the so called "art gallery" was actually a $A'TAN IC OCC ULT Bookstore called - The Equinox - that was originally owned by the infamous Aleister Crowley. At the time when John met Yoko it was owned by Paul McCartney. Later on Paul sold the store to Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. Paul was the reason why Yoko got the gig at The Equinox in the first place. John would speak about Yoko's "avante garde" art in the "gallery" as "Some hammer nail thing" and "a ladder piece with an apple and a positive message written on the ceiling." Yoko's art was not so much "Avante Garde" as it was deeply SAY TAN IC in nature. Neil Aspinall (long time Beatles insider) said in regards to The Fab Four... "The Beatles are incredibly antichrist. I know because I am also antichrist. But they're so antichrist it scares me." Nothing on the surface of accepted Beatles folklore is actually the truth. It's all street theater. When you listen to Cynthia Lennon speaking frankly about when Yoko first appeared in her marriage to John she paints a picture of a man (John) who suddenly wasn't anything at all like the man she married. What Cynthia was talking about wasn't really about how Yoko stole John from her. What Cynthia has alluded to in at least a couple interviews was how Yoko took control of John. If you try to understand how SAY TAN ISM works you would realize that John and The Beatles were into something that destroyed the band, (when there was no further use for the band) then it destroyed John's solo career, and then it destroyed everything else after that. Yoko didn't start controlling John in the last five years of his life after Sean was born. Yoko controlled John the moment he participated in the ladder ritual at The Equinox. When he climb that ladder and took a bite out of that apple Yoko Ono officially became John Lennon's handler. Which was always far more important to Yoko then being John's wife. The truth is something that you have to dig for. The official story is always a con job that is designed to keep the normy multitudes interested in believing and buying. :-I

I find it hard to believe that John would leave Julian Lennon out of his will. Julian Lennon sued Yoko Ono and got money when he turned 21. I really think Yoko had something to do with that. The truth, as always lies somewhere in the middle of what Seaman is saying and what Yoko is saying.
And equally as bad, I guess this a guy thing, she sold his guitars at auction and Julian had to search them out and buy the back. I know when my uncle and my father passed away (even my father in law - no sons) I inherited all their tools not my sister. When I heard that I was pissed for him. She’s a dog or at least insensitive to the relationship. Funny thing is I’ll bet it irked her that Julian and Sean are tight!
Yoko put Julian through expensive court for almost two decades -- 16 years! And finally, realizing that she was looking very greedy, offered Julian a paltry undisclosed amount. And he only accepted because he didn't want to waste the next 16 years in court as well.
Julian got his real settlement 16 years later, when he was in his mid thirties, after lengthy court battles. When he was 21 he probably got a few thousand, nothing much.
I thought John had given Fred Seaman his journals 6 months before he was killed and told him to give them to his son Julian if something were to happen to him. Now he's saying he stole them. I don't get it.
I am sure John was still writing in those journals, right up till the end. He wanted Fred to give the journals to Julian in case anything ever happened to him. So to me, when he took the journals, he was only carrying out what John asked him to do. Were they "stolen?" Well he sure didn't ASK YOKO if he could take them. But the answer is "yes" AND "no!" His big mistake was trusting the wrong person to hold onto the journals until he could get copies made. The sad thing is, that those journals have probably been destroyed now and Julian will never get to read the things that John wanted him to know. There are very few people in this world who are more cruel than Yoko Ono! The only saving grace is knowing she will spend all eternity in Hell for the how she lived her life on Earth. It will be a sad day for Sean when his mother does finally die because people will be rejoicing in the streets! I already feel sorry for him.

This is Fred being railroaded. Watch Joan Rivers' interview which also features May Pang as well as the archivist for John. They back up Fred's assessment of Yoko as does the late Cynthia Lennon. Jules is polite when asked on Howard Stern's show about Yoko, but you can tell by his responses that there is little to respect about Yoko. And any man worth his salt would defend the mother of his child in public, so John's behavior when he ran into Geraldo is understandable.

It has been said that it is likely best that you never meet your heroes. If someone met John expecting him be the same witty wise-cracking Beatle portrayed in that myth, you WOULD be sorely disappointed. In a different interview Fred Seaman says that Yoko arranged for Paul McCartney to be arrested for marijuana possession when he entered Japan in 1980. As often happens with a Geraldo interview this was a bit of an ambush of Fred. I read his book and the revelation that stuck with me was that in the last year or two of his life John had doubts about his older son Julian, wondering if he might be gay. He was still fine with it if he was but he didn't know. My impression is that John and Yoko's home life in the last few years was not as idyllic as it was portrayed publicly. I think there is some truth in the things Fred says and some in what Elliot says but both are not being completely honest.
It's simple. John should had divorced Yoko (and Married May Pang). There is a certain pattern in pop culture. Kurt Cobain wanted to divorce Courtney Love, but died. Chris Cornell should have left his controlling wife, but died. Once money and marriage is involved, things get dangerous.

I read Fred Seaman's book and it seemed to me to be an honest and caring account of John's final year. I know someone very close within the Lennon camp and they told me that the real John is in Fred's book. Yoko's made Fred's life hell since this book came out.

I believe Seaman. Although he stole Lennons diary, I do think he is telling the truth about John's unhappiness. May Pangs account is similar regarding John's unhappiness. Yoko had ultimate control, relinquished, foolishly by John. Elliot Mintz is a very smooth, controlled PR man for them both.
Fred Seaman didn't take Lennon's diary with bad intentions. John Lennon wanted his firstborn son Julian to have his diaries, and Yoko prevented Julian from obtaining them, because she didn't want to acknowledge Julian as John's firstborn child, and has said as much by calling Julian a "mistake", and has claimed that Sean is John's "true firstborn", because he was "wanted and planned". Not even over John's dead body would Yoko give Julian personal evidence that John actually did loved him, and fell out of love with Yoko, but stayed with her because he couldn't function as an adult without supervision or personal assistants, and Yoko had a death grip on every aspect of his life. Yoko doesn't want to public to know that her and John's "legendary love" was a facade, a farce, to prop up her failing "art career".
By the way, Fred Seaman's book has been confirmed by several other books, in particular by DAKOTA DAYS: The true story of John, written by John Green. John Green was the tarot reader for John and Yoko and closed friend in the last 5 years of John’s life. The book quotes Yoko extensively and the quotes are based on his taped conversations with her. The book addresses areas of John's and Yoko's lives -- Yoko's outrageous addiction to superstition, Lennon's depression in the mid-to-late 1970s, etc. -- that Lennon worshippers don't want anyone to know about. In fact, Dakota Days is a very good and extremely readable book which fully exposes Yoko's craziness, some of the problems that plagued the Lennons' marriage, and the creative impotence that tormented Lennon in the late 1970s.

Elliot Mintz seems to have played a role of a publicist more than someone who could be forthright about the idiosyncrasies of what he calls his "friends" in the industry. I once caught him claim that his pal David Cassidy would never say anything negative about his fanbase and I proceeded to share with Elliot an interview where David said some very unflattering comments.
I read that Mintz had an affair with Yoko. It was mentioned in a biography I read about John. I can’t remember the authors name, only that he knew John and Yoko very well and was a good writer. The book was just called Lennon. It was quite a comprehensive account of John’s life. The author said that John wasn’t a recluse and loved spending his time with Sean.

Fred Seaman played a role in the history of John's life for 2 years just before John left the public eye forever. May Pang was very close to John at an extremely significant time in his life. Her experiences with John before, during, and after, her time with him are interesting and important. These people are entitled to share their memories. Millions of people believe May Pang's memoirs are true and compelling. Face it... May Pang is far more credible than Yoko could ever be. After all Yoko set John up with May. If that were a lie then Yoko would have sued May for slander or defamation of character.

The reason why Fred Seaman took John's journals was out of respect for John's own wishes. Lennon wanted his journals to be given to his older son Julian Lennon in the event that anything happened to him because he knew that Yoko hated Julian and would try to cut him out in multiple ways. Mr. Seaman had to plead guilty to the charge of felony theft because he had no way of proving John's wishes since he was dead. But Fred Seaman is not a thief or a liar - he is actually an honourable man who tried to honour John's wishes even after John's death. Yoko Ono IS an evil and manipulative person. Period.

Now then, John seemed annoyed of her constantly saying that.

In another interview, Fred mentioned that John Lennon wanted Julian to have his Journals when he passed. Apparently John told Fred that he was concerned Yoko would not give them to Julian. So Fred took them out of the Dakota to copy. Before he could return them Yoko found out and had Fred arrested. Julian said in an interview, that he had to purchase many things from Yoko that were his, like postcards that Julian sent to John, and a guitar John wanted him to have. Yoko took decades (and probably a lawsuit) to distribute Julian's fair share of the will to him. So sad. Also heartbreaking that Yoko tried to block Paul and John's friendship by filtering calls, & blocking any messages. Evidence also leads to the possibility that Yoko alerted Japanese authorities that Paul had marijuana in his luggage. A few days before Paul was arrested he visited John and mentioned he was bringing it to Japan. Yoko considered Paul a threat.
But Julian was tricked by Fred Seaman too ... Seaman was a thief, which was proven by a police investigation at the home of Fred Seaman. He was a liar, a falsifier too. He just wanted to make money and a name with a book, and over time he become obsessed and neurotic by John and Yoko. So I think you need to find another guy to rely on to blame Yoko for everything.

By failing to sue Yoko definitely validates the content in the books as well. Based on the fact that IF she actually had a case she could prove that the content in the manuscripts were false and misleading in a way that is almost bullet proof. Therefore proving that the books are not worth buying or even worth checking out of a public library for free. If Yoko sued for slander or defamation of character she would be able to legally demonstrate that those books are full of lies. If what these people are saying were true then all the more reason to put those people on the stand to tell the truth under oath which establishes serious penalties for committing perjury. These books are still in print and people are still reading them and making up their own minds in regards to what they believe is the truth. This is a true and correct lesson in COMMON SENSE. I think John was feeling trapped with Yoko and he didn't know what to do near the end of his life. When John first met Yoko she fascinated him, but as the years rolled by John was beginning to feel restless and his relationship with Yoko didn't interest him like it once did. It is sad what happened to John Lennon and it was tragic because he was murdered.

As a Beatle fan (though I wasn't born in their time) I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and see what John saw in her. But big NOPE. The truth always comes out and facts are facts. You have to do a deep dive into all things Beatles. Especially Cynthia Lennon's memories in regards to how she and John met Yoko.

But what they never clued people in on was the so called "art gallery" was actually a $A'TAN IC OCC ULT Bookstore called - The Equinox - that was originally owned by the infamous Aleister Crowley. At the time when John met Yoko it was owned by Paul McCartney. Later on Paul sold the store to Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. Paul was the reason why Yoko got the gig at The Equinox in the first place. John would speak about Yoko's "avante garde" art in the "gallery" as "Some hammer nail thing" and "a ladder piece with an apple and a positive message written on the ceiling." Yoko's art was not so much "Avante Garde" as it was deeply SAY TAN IC in nature.

Yoko put Julian through expensive court for almost two decades -- 16 years! And finally, realizing that she was looking very greedy, offered Julian a paltry undisclosed amount. And he only accepted because he didn't want to waste the next 16 years in court as well.
Julian got his real settlement 16 years later, when he was in his mid thirties, after lengthy court battles.
When he was 21 he probably got a few thousand, nothing much.
I thought John had given Fred Seaman his journals 6 months before he was killed and told him to give them to his son Julian if something were to happen to him.
Now he's saying he stole them. I don't get it.
I am sure John was still writing in those journals, right up till the end. He wanted Fred to give the journals to Julian in case anything ever happened to him. So to me, when he took the journals, he was only carrying out what John asked him to do. Were they "stolen?" Well he sure didn't ASK YOKO if he could take them. But the answer is "yes" AND "no!" His big mistake was trusting the wrong person to hold onto the journals until he could get copies made. The sad thing is, that those journals have probably been destroyed now and Julian will never get to read the things that John wanted him to know. There are very few people in this world who are more cruel than Yoko Ono! The only saving grace is knowing she will spend all eternity in Hell for the how she lived her life on Earth. It will be a sad day for Sean when his mother does finally die because people will be rejoicing in the streets! I already feel sorry for him.

That seems very questionable… What would the reason be? The relationship gave her all the media attention and riches she could possibly want. Their relationship was allegedly quite ”open” so she could see other men if she wanted too. If she was fed up with John she could just send him away on another ”Lost Weekend”.

This is Fred being railroaded. Watch Joan Rivers' interview which also features May Pang as well as the archivist for John. They back up Fred's assessment of Yoko as does the late Cynthia Lennon. Jules is polite when asked on Howard Stern's show about Yoko, but you can tell by his responses that there is little to respect about Yoko. And any man worth his salt would defend the mother of his child in public, so John's behavior when he ran into Geraldo is understandable.
This is a, ambush assault pseudo-interview by Geraldo; &, Rivera seems clearly to have pre-determined his attitudes; &, opinions; and, pre-concluded, almost everything about Fred; his book; all of these topics; and, Yoko's narrative.

It has been said that it is likely best that you never meet your heroes. If someone met John expecting him be the same witty wise-cracking Beatle portrayed in that myth, you WOULD be sorely disappointed. He was a human being trying to live a normal life as best as could considering everything he was subjected to. One could take that consideration and apply it here and walk away thinking there isn't much to see here, or you could read Seaman's book and dwell on the darkness.

As often happens with a Geraldo interview this was a bit of an ambush of Fred. I read his book and the revelation that stuck with me was that in the last year or two of his life John had doubts about his older son Julian, wondering if he might be gay. He was still fine with it if he was but he didn't know. My impression is that John and Yoko's home life in the last few years was not as idyllic as it was portrayed publicly. I think there is some truth in the things Fred says and some in what Elliot says but both are not being completely honest.
Complete honesty has no place at anything near this level of fame, especially in show business.
