- International rugby is back! Payno, Tins, and Jonny May share their thoughts on the first weekend of the Summer Tests, discussing Japan vs England and Barbarians vs Fiji. And don't miss out on Mike Tindall's take on the Boks' first appearance since lifting the World Cup.
Can England win in New Zealand on June 6th? Let us know in the comments.
Season 4 of The Good, The Bad & The Rugby is sponsored by Continental Tyres.
You boys HAVE to go down and film a special episode with Jonny next season at Angouleme, after he's settled in. It'll make a great episode to see a bit of the town, the club, and a sit down and catch up after. Make it happen please
that would be great! but if they don't do it I am sure the eggchasers' french rugby channel will do it
Have always enjoyed watching Johnny May play and now enjoying his commentary. Great man, great player, great Englishman! 🏴🌹🏴🌹🏴🌹
Earl to 12 makes things very flexible with a 6-2 or even 7-1 split
Marcus Smith, Furbank, Freeman, Lawrence & Slade are very much capable of covering multiple positions already.
It’s crazy how the 6-2 let alone a 7-1 was seen as crazy and detrimental to the game according to specific pundits😂😂😂 but I won’t name names instead of being seen as something innovative to the game
But of course peoples perception change when that something suits them
😂😂😂
@user-rn9co7jc4t you've got to maximise what you can do with the rules you're given, whether you agree with them or not.
1991 world cup final was over in under 1 hour 40 minutes - no tactical subs, no water breaks, no TMO. The game has too many subs and is taking too long to play now. That's what is driving having unfit 130kg players trundling about for 50 mins game time in many more elapsed, but it is what it is.
Great show guys! Keep on keeping on.
Those shades, fuck me 😂😎
I agree with J-May. As a Saffa obviously looking forward to the 2 Greens going at it, but also super excited to see England have a Crack at a new look AB side and Aus vs Wales should be really close and entertaining.
I have to say this show is so much better when you dont have the giant ego clowning around and saying look at me look at me! I really enjoy listening when its 2+1 guest.
Keep Haskell away and carry on the great shows!!
Agree . Nice to hear more of the rugby stuff . Nothing personal with hask , but do find him a bore on here .
Time to let Hask focus on his DJ'ing career, the flow is so much better without him blathering away.
30:25 synchronised head scratching
Great show with Alex, Tinds and the Rugbybot 😂
Great show, thanks chaps.
Surely with the resources available to English Rugby, any form of chaos - unless a tactic - is unacceptable?
What resources are these?
Playing well against Japan is one thing, but the real test of how far England have come will be against NZ next month. This will be interesting…
Great show by the way 😊👍🏾
Specialist subject. Stating the obvious?
@@dulls8475 my specialty is your Mums fanny. I’ll make that obvious enough for you gov
@@dulls8475 don’t be a tosser now 😂
Earl is a beast….but…could only ever be a No 12 in emergency….don’t forget how easily he got turned inside out and left standing in the last Six Nations by Van der Merwe which brutally exposed the difference between Backs and Forwards in defence against a speed merchant…
all this talk of the french league - please get sam simmonds on to talk about his year at montpelier!
In early 1995 I met with Mickey Steele Bodger at the East India Club at 10.30 for lunch to tell him the professional clubs will still supply players to the Ba Bas and I would personally sponsor them. Don't need money dear boy says Micky , but I suggested Friends of the Barbarians which went down well, and lunch finished at 3am. Since Steve has taken on the playing side they have grown and grown
England got the hit /workout they wanted from Japan Who played with their usual bravery and one thousand miles an hour pace I can see Japan being a real force in the next few years As they have blooded alot of good new faces. While the Barbarians v Fiji game was everything you expect a Barbarians match to be Exciting and with lots of tries As both teams ran at every opportunity As for the S.Africa v Wales match well that went as most people thought it would Wales where outclassed in every area especially the scrum which S.Africa obliterated W.Gatland seems to be using the summer tour to continue looking at new Welsh talent So i have big doubts that they will win any of the tests against Australia Hoping that he starts picking his real squad in the Autumn As the game does ned all it's nations to be competitive
Never quite got it with the Barbarians , and similar with the British lions. I’m sure it’s because I’m not steeped in rugby history and traditions that well that I feel like that . Love all my sports but cricket and Rugby the most. Will be cheering on the Lions next year as much as anyone , but always England for me and I’ll be quite happy to see Andy Farrell rely on Ireland to win in Aussie. Resting Itoje and Ben earl and curry who I’m sure will be going would be okay for me. Happier to see some younger lads from England get much needed experience . Would add that I’ve come across very few people who agree with me. 🏴
Am I the only one that notices how much Tinds says “you know”….. I think it gets worse with every episode!!!! Another great pod. Thanks
FFS ruined it for me now 😂😂
Those shades are ridiculous, but not as ridiculous as Tindall looked at that Taylor Swift concert
He doesn't know who Oliver Reed is OMG
Showing your age
Here we go...all England rugby fans have gone full "it's coming home"
"All"England fans?
@user-ee1zb1fn3y yep one win against a University team and their jizzin buckets
Disappointing, not even a nod to the Glasgow Warriors winning the URC.
I wish people would stop talking about "intent" regarding cards. I don't know any ruby player who has the intent to hurt another player, and the Laws are about what happened, not Intent.
The ABs squad just announced has players who are good ball runners and good tacklers. However, the lineout abilities are not great, the 3 hookers have poor Super Rugby stats, and Patrick Tuipulotu is the only reliable target. The loosies also follow the ball-playing trend.
RWC Japan, Eng knocked out NZ, helped by winning a lot of the NZ lineouts, so it would seem this could be on the cards again. The ABs can't score if they don't have the ball.
If they do get quality ball, they will score. I know people discus the 22 area as a scoring zone, but in NZ the mindset is the entire field is a scoring zone. Can launch from anywhere.
England will win the series 2-1, ABs will not gel till the 3rd game , too late also Razor hasn’t picked a few in form players 😂
Not really possible as they are only playing two games.
