Rex, I love your style. This is an unusual way of building period model ships but I cannot argue with the results. Your models end up with a degree of realism that is really splendid. Fabulous!
@Roman-hx3qj , you're right. Many state I approach modelmaking away from the traditional. I do this so to challenge my skill...and as you can see it's at another level. That's the beauty of art -to experiment to see what works and hope that all the effort isn't for naught. I've had my moments...lol!
Thanks! Unfortunately, it was never finished due to the nonprofit's haste in not allowing it. Sad ending for them, but at least I have been able to show it to my viewers. Your comments are truly appreciated.
Your techniques compared to either classic plank on frame and modern plank on bulkhead are a tad unorthodox but the results are quite amazing. I’m very impressed sir!
Thanks. However, the means doesn't always justify the end. We live in a society where 'routine' is accepted without challenge. This is why I've always taken a different approach and found that I could arrive at the same conclusion with better results. All the variables are there, re: plank on frame, etc., etc. Yet at the same time I'm using creative license to push modelling to another level to draw the viewer in. If you were to view a miniature model would that be classified as 'unorthodox'? Hardly, because it's conceptual. Collectors (and museums) respect the work because of the accuracy and details applied. Furthermore children are drawn to it and that, in itself, is priceless.

Beautiful work. It is one of the best 'scratch built' models I've seen. Congratulations.
I'm humbled Keith...Part two is yet to come. Thank you, sir.
My gosh that's big! Very nicely done too!
