This ride is so nostalgic for me. Yes it doesn’t pull many forces but it was my first “big coaster” and I love riding it
im a HUGE scardey cat on rides and im are riding it for the first tine is it scarey
Pause , ayo
First time scares second time the best
Lol! It was my first and my kids first big coaster, too!! I was terrified first time, so was my son.
This coaster is in the movie “Big”, “Fatal Attraction”, and Mariah Carey, Fantasy, video
So glad to see this golden oldie runs as well as it did when I first rode it 18 years ago. I’m so glad this was my first big coaster experience!
That's one hell of a long ride.
I will always love Playland , even though they don’t have as many good rides as they use too ! Use to go there every week when I was in day-camp and on the weekends with my family ! Beautiful architecture and love being on the water ! Playland can be great if they would bring back the old classic rides and bring back the Airplane Coaster ! I’ve never been on it but it looked huge !
It's sad they removed so many older rides like the Flying Scooters, the Rotor, the Monster Mouse and the Spider and the Flying Witch! Even the peddle-boats on the lake! What are they thinking? Bring back the old Aeroplane coaster and revive Playland!
my first big coaster, I went with my best friend and honestly I wouldnt have gone with anyone else BUT her. She comforted me the whole ride while I was ducking down and screaming. They accidently let us go 3 times in a row.
That’s my favorite ride 🎉🎉🎉
I don’t think that this ride is the best, but it is one of my favorites. It is just so much fun wizzing through supports and that photogenic dragon tunnel.
OMG, does that bring back memories. My parents would take my brother and I there every summer from our home in CT. Loved the Dragon! Took a while for me to grow to the age line, but was worth the wait.
The whole ride is like “let’s go wooooo” me “somebody help me “ on a 1 foot drop
I did this ride almost passed out
@@NotNicovrSame omg 😭😭
The only ride where a dragon shits you out.
LMFAOA
My favorite coaster. A must see
I faced my fear on this rollercoaster yesterday. I was screaming like a girl the whole time but it was definitely fun. I loved going through the Dragon tunnel. That was really cool!
I actually losed it around the same time! My first ride was on American Dream New Jearsy, Nickelodeon, Sandy's Blasting Bronco, short but it's definitely pretty intense for a first timer!
Oh that first big drop!
I think of Mariah cary every time lol they should play fantasy in the station lol
I was on this train with you lol, you can probably eventually hear me screaming. This coaster is really great!!
i dont believe you

I miss this park was literally my childhood park and remember getting my very first credit here too, question What you think of the vibe of the park?
It was great! Very nice and clean!
A lot of coaster enthusiasts say this coaster is not very good, but in my opinion it’s a great ride for those getting into roller coasters. Not too large but also not too small, it’s almost like the Cyclone’s younger cousin.
Wow! It seems this was everyone's first..cool!
Very Nice POV !
This looks like fun!
It is!
I remember working for Avon right down the street in the early 90's. We'd walk down at lunch time, ride the Dragon Coaster a few times, and walk back. Of course this was back in the day when you paid per ride!😂😂 Fun memory!
Great 4K POV
Thanks!
@@ColiwoodStudios you’re welcome
Playland Amusement Park, My brother used to run the Dragon Coaster back in the late 80's he used to ride the coaster on the front or on the back standing up. When summer jobs were full of good memories.
Ha I was there with you today and saw you filming. The event was a good time. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
my senior trip i went on this coaster so fuckin fun
When I went on the force was so high it made me fly almost from the steep stuff- and fly as in go up but the seatbelts were super secure
This was my first rollercoaster ride, that I did not want to go on..Being a native of Yonkers..going to Playland was a treat! But not that scary rollercoaster..ok people I was 8 yrs old 😂
Mariah Carey - Fantasy
I really feel sorry for my classmates with me on this ride.I remember my group that 1 kid passed out and 1 literally cried.
I love play land bro
Dang you’re filming legal POVs, the level of respect I have for you has gone way up. I definitely prefer your POVs to that of people who film POVs illegally, also this is a pretty awesome ride
It's been 3 years since I've been home to Rye. I live in Chelsea Manhattan a very good friend of mine who is no longer with us Lawrence McGowan worked in the Rye Playland Paint Shop for many years. A Mariah Carey music video was filmed there as well as the movie Big.
So was it the music video name Fantasy by Mariah Carey.
@@zacharyelder349playland was built in 1929. It is the only amusement park deemed an historical landmark. You can find it on RUclips there's a 1929 video of the dragon coaster
@@zacharyelder349it happens to all of us if you're lucky my father at the age of 90 four years ago passed away my parents were married 63 years. The house has been sold and there's just no more going home and four years later I still cry over it.
Been there many times growing up
My first roller coaster
That coster opened in 1929 a lot of the greats probably got on that roller coaster
This is so embarrassing but when I got in that ride I screamed mama lol 😂 💀
This ride looked way different when I was on it lmao
My great grandpa was one of the builders of this coaster.
That’s so cool!
(Blasting out loud Mariah Carey's song "Fantasy").
OMG I WENT TO PLAYLAND THAT DAY
Same I AM GOING AGIAN
I went on this ride today. The part where it's going down always gives me a heart attack.
The least thing that I could do is scream in my head, not out loud
Omfgggg same I went on it today. My first ever rollercoaster, I was screaming my lungs out.. I almost passed out mid way at the long drop but I mean.. it was still fun! 😭
We would wait on the platform to be either in the first car or the last car. Rye Playland and Bear Moyntain wete annual school trips and my Girl Brownie/Scout troops also held trips there.
This is my literal first rollercoaster ever. I actually can’t believe I rode it earlier today, I was TERRIFIED. I was literally slightly shaking when I got off of it haha. Hopefully there’ll be a next time, and hopefully it’s not as terrifying..
When I rolled his coaster I was at summer camp and they took me to a field trip in the first right I wanted to go was on the ride but there was a long line but when we got to the roller coaster me and my friends we went on it oh my gosh for a second it was like Smoove one of them and turn into like the worst thing I ever went but what when I was done at least I face my fears so I will recommend it if you’re scared then don’t go on it if you’re brave to go on it then you go on it
Fred Church designed and still running great
i just rode this ride today when i tell you my face frozee
is it scary? Im going on a trip their and I'm honestly kinda scared... i feel peer pressure though. what do i do? (I really wanna go i don't really have a choice)
Personally, I don’t think it’s scary at all, but this is coming from someone who’s ridden 327 different roller coasters 😅
I would say the first 1 -20 times if you don’t go on coasters often it would probably be scary I’m working my way up to big ones and I just got past this one I rode it a total of 32 times once you get used to like the drops on this coaster like coming out of the dragon and the first drop it will probably be scary but I’m not scared of this ride anymore becuase now I open my eyes and put my hand in the air
Also one of the hill when you go up gives you some good ejector airtime most of the ride though in my opinion is just floater airtime
Please bring back the original trains for the Dragon Coaster and put the lights back on the ride also !
What did you use to record this? And did you have to ask to?
GoPro HERO 10 Black; Yes
Awesome, and how did you mount it to the ride? Or did you just hold it?
I went here yesterday and I could barley walk after I rode the dragon coaster
Is there airtime
There’s a couple little moments
Does anyone remember " The mighty mouse" rollercoaster at Playland??
Why does this ride look more intense in the movie fatal attraction lol
I think they attached the a camera closer to the tracks which made it look faster. Plus they focused on the most intense parts of the whole ride.
@@tomy.1846 I also read somewhere that they took out the old cars in 1988 and replaced them with what they have now and a few people commented and said that the ride goes slower now because of the new trains
Yes! I miss the old cars. They have one at the park these days out on display, cool to jump in for a photo! @@gtawarrior92
Looks a bit tame.
This ride was made in the fifties
@@starshipsn1511 Um been there in the park when it opened in 1929
Pretty underwhelming for something using the word "Dragon".
Well, it was opened in 1929. I'm sure most things with "dragon" in it back then are underwhelming by today's standards. lol.
If a roller coaster was joe Biden 😂😂😂
