Hi One remark. At 4m00s when you mention this little noise when shaking the board because of the M2 SSD installed metal heat dissipator that is not properly tighten There is a screw to be placed under the SSD before placing the heat dissipator. That should fix the problem ;) Look at this video at 5m00s ruclips.net/video/ZtJB1hnlNEI/видео.html.

This board has turned out to be a real lemon. I've been using it for almost 2 years now and I have had so many issues with crashing, blue screens, lockups, failed boots. I've always used ASUS boards to build computers and never had a problem long term. I just purchased the ASUS Z690-F Strix. I will never touch a Gigabyte board again.
I had a similar issue with a different motherboard and it turns out that my power supply fried it. After that I swapped to this one and it has been working fine for 4 years.
Excellent review. This really is the best mainboard for the money at the midlevel price of $180USD right now. Everything you need, nothing you don't, and probably the best VRM setup of anything at the price. Gigabyte needs to make the BIOS a bit better, but the rest of the hardware is excellent. EDIT: Should add I'm using this board with an i9-9900K, Thermalright TRUE Black 120 with two Noctua Redux 120mm fans, and it runs stable all day at 100% load on all eight cores at 4.7GHz, no core higher than 80C on any core. With two Geforce GTX 1070 FEs in SLI also in there.
Excellent breakdown of the motherboard, came across your review while comparing Asus/EVGA/MSI motherboards. I was sold on the Gig board after this, saved a few hundred to put towards other parts as well, thank you.
Thank you so much I’m planing on building my first pc and this is very helpful knowing it’s easy to navigate I’m using a i5 9600k in a Corsair 465x case

I also went with the be quiet! Dark rock pro 4 on this board, and I'm so sad that it hides so much of the board. Will definitely be going aio in the future!
How is the air flow with the NZXT H500 in your experience? I was going back and forth between it and the Fractal R6 and decided to get the R6 due to concerns after reviews and comments online pointed to the issue of air flow.
I was also concerned about the airflow in the H500 but so far had no problems. It probably helps that the Dark Rock CPU fan has 2 fans. But if you are worried about overheating it is probably not the best case for you.
Thank you! I'm going to buy one for my new personal build. Always good to get a second opinion 😂 My 5 year old Asus Prime Z370 A-II croaked so I was looking for something with the Z390 chipset and two M.2 sockets. This is the Kitten! 😃 Should be sweet with my Core i7-8700K 8th Gen.
I bought this board yesterday on sale for $179 which was a great deal. Those VRMs are super nice, though I'll be going with a 9700k and not the 9900k. The m.2 heatsink doesn't rattle once you've got the slot filled. Also I love the channel. Great work. Thanks for being a resource.

I have a single 16gb stick of ram. What slot would only I stick of ram go into? The manual only has a 2 or 4 configuration so I’m confused. I briefly noticed in your video that was the location you had yours. But this is my first build and I want to make sure. Please help.

4:48 thermo . I think the loose part is very deliberate. A heated element will grow bigger. and if bolted too tight the entire plateau might break. so better with loose fit, for a thermal block .
The m.2 heat shield is loose and makes a noise when you shake it because you don't have anything installed in it. It will fit snug when it has the m.2 device (stick) installed to fill up the space.
So, i would agree but... this is the only AORUS board with this "design". Meaning that if you are working on a single m.2ssd or none, ur finding yourself with moving parts in your build. Hi Laurent I'm looking to buy a new Motherboard and I'm torn between two : ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING (WiFi) or Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO (WiFi) ? I Need a little help on what one thinks is the better Choice .
Just bought this board and after a bios upgrade and updating all the necessary drivers - I could not be happier - compared to my previous machine this thing now barely whispers...i can not hear it.
Just bought this and discovered it has a 8pin + 4pin(!) connections for the CPU and my Corsair 850RMx only comes with two 8pin connectors. I hope it will run fine with just the 8pin plugged in.
Hey, thanks for the reassurance. I'll be running a 9900K on it, but I will not be over-clocking it past 4.8Ghz (all core) which is about the limit when cooled with a Dark Rock 4 air cooler. I must say though I find it strange that A) It has a 4 pin connector instead of two 8 pin and B) Annoyed that Corsair didn't include a CPU power lead that can be either an 8pin that can split down to a 4pin on the 850RMx.
i was very confused about what i really want in a motherboard, because its my first build, but for some reason, checking out your channel, i was pleased to see that this motheboard it´s a very very good opcion and, it´s not very expensive, im gonna buy it!!!
Good call. I have this very MoBo too. With this combination of VRM and quality of on board sound at this price point its hard to beat to be honest and it has built in WiFi which can be handy in a pinch.
Thanks for the amazing review and will get this def. which memory would go best, thinking on ballistix 3200 and i7 9700k but no GPU at first maybe later.
Laurent's Choice, Hello. What cpu cooler do u recommend for i9 9900k? I have aorus z390 pro wifi + asus rog strix 2070s. Tysm! Also, do u recommend Asus thor 850w psu? Tyty! (Sorry got a lotta question 1st time to build here)
hi there. how would you compare the thermal throttling of this mobo and the vrm in comparison to the asus rog maximus 11 hero that u reviewed before? lets say im planning to get either one, which one would i buy?
I wish Asus would learn a thing or two about entry level boards, and cutting corners, I had good boards until I wanted the z390, the pcb was so weak the mugan 5.b caused the board to warp, and came with the standard cheap backplate that is currently worthless, as I through one board away because I couldn't even use it because the board was warped so bad I couldn't get the ports in the holes in the backplate, so I gave up and just tossed it. The next thing I did is buy this board, I haven't put it together yet as when I went to put it together my tv went out and it was Christmas time.
I've been running this great motherboard for around 2 years and am thinking of adding more m.2 storage. I already have a samsung 970 1TB in one slot but I can't seem to find the other slot. Do you have any idea where it is?
I'm using the same motherboard, so I like to know how to get rid of the digital noise from a USB and also audio jack. I don't know if anyone out there is experiencing the same problem.
I have been interested in this board for awhile for my 8700k, its currently in a cheap b365. How does the onboard audio compare to a dedicated pcie soundblaster z card? That's what I currently use for my audio
Hi Laurent! Great review! You actually made me change my mind, from the MSI MAG Tomahawk to this Aorus MoBo. What CPU would you recommend to pair with this MoBo (not named 9900k) exclusively for gaming?
@@Laurentschoice Thanks for the quick reply! Yeh im looking into the i7 9700k with 32gb ram. I'm just curious as to what Gigabyte's Designare mobo offers tho? and is it worth the extra cost...hmmm
U have a better VRM design, more power stages than on Asus. More stable power delivery and the M.2SSD heat shield are awesome . It's just a well designed board all together. Performant and stable.
@@LaurentschoiceAgreed, by looking at some stats on reviews, there is no denying the great design efficiency of the VRMs on these boards! But overall, from a creators perspective, would you recommend Pro or Designare?
I like your videos.....Could you please do a video on z370 z390 MB that support thunderbolt 3 that have the tb3 header ? Furthermore, the most asked question on the internet is will the thunderbolt 3 board support thunderbolt 2 and thunderbolt 1 with an adapter? MAny people have audio cards that have tb1 and tb2 --thunderbolt 2 is the majority of audio recording artists but to find this information out is ridiculous even when the manufacturers say it is supported.....................if you do a video on MB that support thunderbolt 3 cards but that are legacy supported for tb2 and tb1....you will have over 100k hits :)
Do you experience off colors in the LEDS? for example pure white is a bit orange in color when I try to adjust it. All are off except the aorus text near the I/O
Nice channel. I am getting a lot of useful info for my next build. I got a bit confused on one matter though. You said this supports 64GB RAM but on the MSI Gaming Pro AC review you say it supports 128GB. Can you please clear this for me? Does it actually support 128GB?
Yes it now does. At the time of the filming it used to support 64 GB of DDR4 ram. Back in May a BIOS update made most Z390 chipset compatible to 32 GB sticks, hence 128 GB on dual channels :)
Nice video, I'm going to buy this bad boy.. question..this board has a 8pin plus 4 pin CPU connector..I need to purchase another this pin connector on top of my normal 8 pin connector.what is your opinion on this as it most likely gives more power to CPU?.. another Question is if I put my i7 9700k in this motherboard, will it update bios ok..as I heard you need a 8th Gen CPU to update for 9th Gen..is that true?
Hi there. Z390 powerered board do not require any bios update to run 9th gen CPUs. The extra CPU pins are optional and are here only for extreme overclocking! Good choice btw
I have one question and I need help. I bought 16x2gb 3200mhz cl14 (14-14-14-34) for a t-topology board (Z390 aorus pro), will I be able to run this kit at rated speed "3200mhz" on both sticks considering this is a t-top board?
I am literally ordering this board now for my first build. I’m so excited, except the fact that I have jury duty the day all my stuff comes in through mail😭
@mogli indie loving it, built a i7 9700k with a AORUS RTX 2080 super and 32gs of white corsair vengeance pro rgb clocked at 3200mhz and its aio cooled but it was so easy to worked with defiantly a good experience for a first build

I have eyes on this board, can you go through bios and overclocking settings? that’d be helpful, also good video keep it up.
Did u ever get it
I've been running this great motherboard for around 2 years and am thinking of adding more m.2 storage. I already have a samsung 970 1TB in one slot but I can't seem to find the other slot. Do you have any idea where it is?
You deserve more followers
Great video. Thank you 👍
I'm using the same motherboard, so I like to know how to get rid of the digital noise from a USB and also audio jack. I don't know if anyone out there is experiencing the same problem.
Great video and review. Your enthusiasm is entertaining, as is your eager work at English..
I have been interested in this board for awhile for my 8700k, its currently in a cheap b365. How does the onboard audio compare to a dedicated pcie soundblaster z card? That's what I currently use for my audio
Would those heatsinks be lose with the SSDs in place? Mine is not.
I don't have any sound with this motherboard no matter what driver I use.
turn your speakers to the "on" position 😅
Hi Laurent! Great review! You actually made me change my mind, from the MSI MAG Tomahawk to this Aorus MoBo. What CPU would you recommend to pair with this MoBo (not named 9900k) exclusively for gaming?
Thanks for the kind words :)
A 8700k or 9700k :)
Or an 8086k if your feeling fancy!
Just returned my asrock z390 for this mobo because of you
Top stuff, getting this to replace my dead Z370.
Good choice!!!!
@@Laurentschoice was torn between this one and the MSI MPG Z390, from your video I can see I made the right choice. Thanks 👍👍
Hii, great content! Quick question, would this motherboard be suitable for content creators and video editing enthusiasts?
Yes absolutley. Make sure to couple with at least an i7 (preferably an i9) and enough ram (24 or 32).
It can absolutely handle video editing.
This board supports sli? Really want to use my old 460s again.
@@Laurentschoice thank you very much for the response. That clears it. Please keep doing what you're doing as this is amazing stuff.
can i use this motherboard as a first time builder or is this mobo too advanced
@@Laurentschoice Thank you. Even if I want to update Bios..I can still do that with my 9th Gen right?
This is a awesome review subbed and liked I can’t wait to see more of your stuff man!
I have one question and I need help. I bought 16x2gb 3200mhz cl14 (14-14-14-34) for a t-topology board (Z390 aorus pro), will I be able to run this kit at rated speed "3200mhz" on both sticks considering this is a t-top board?
Does it ship with a WiFi antenna? Or do I have to buy it seperately?
And great informative Video btw. :)
@@blackavatar4089 Thanks for the info! :)
Is the WiFi any good? Or would it be better to get a pcie WiFi card?
I am literally ordering this board now for my first build. I’m so excited, except the fact that I have jury duty the day all my stuff comes in through mail😭
ahahah ..oh man.... !!!
Yes got my i7 9700k, my mother board, and my gpu I’m so hype to build my first pc, just waiting on some more parts.
@mogli indie loving it, built a i7 9700k with a AORUS RTX 2080 super and 32gs of white corsair vengeance pro rgb clocked at 3200mhz and its aio cooled but it was so easy to worked with defiantly a good experience for a first build
@@jet93101 just got mine today man starting my pc journey today, hope I can move from controller to mouse swiftly.
@@biskeoat9337 it’s is a grind learning keyboard and the respect of both inputs will be understood once both mastered. But heads up if you play fortnite it will be hard to learn at first if not you will be good on any other game
Which one would you recommend between this one and the Asus maximus xi hero wifi?
