For a 3BR apartment that is NOT a decent kitchen. There are no words for that atrocious black and red bathroom. We live in a crazy world where people would pay that amount of money for a walkup with small bedrooms, and no laundry facilities, either.

@@vincentgoupil180 yes because I have one of those large windows. But I don't think the majority of these tenants really consider cleaning outside the windows which is really difficult if you don't even have something to step out onto to do the outside. I'm just a window freak.

Finally, somebody else that thinks like I do. I can't stand seeing any apt with dirty windows, it sort of tells you about the management of the building. That's pretty high rent when all it would take is a can of SprayAway window cleaner and some paper towels before showing the apt. But then again, it's not important to most people, and I'm sure that it's not a deal breaker for most tenants. I just have this thing about dirty windows.

Seems to me like the price reflects amenities available in the neighborhood. The apartment, IMO, is way overpriced. Stairs, stairs and more stairs; crappy kitchen, old bathrooms, no in-unit or in-building laundry. The non-working sliding door on that closet probably reflects the quality of the upgrades that were done. Yeah, nice to have the entire floor but that's the only plus I see with this place. And, I wouldn't even look at a place that had graffiti plastered all over the front of the building.

The prices are mind boggling! I pay $200 a week rent for a fully self contained 1 bedroom unit here in New Zealand. Dairy on the cnr, postoffice, a drs, a dentist, a pharmacy and another dairy on a little block over the road from the cnr dairy, a 24/7 bakery on the other cnr, 4 super markets, a mall, a 24/7 petrol station, 2 mcdonalds, 2 bk’s all within a 5 min drive away. Maybe you are all college friends, not strangers, and you are so excited about life you aren't bothered by the problems of the middle aged and elderly. You are hardly ever home, anyway. You study wherever there is Wi-Fi and socialize to all hours? My brother lived at the Y for a year or two in NYC, taking grad classes during the day and working nights at a job quiet enough to let him do his coursework. He lived on a pittance and enjoyed it all immensely. He was in his early 20s and happy the way things were working out, not worrying about any of the items you listed. He didn't even have rich parents to help him out. He did it on his own. My guess is the students who rent this are parentally subsidized.

Hello. Noooooo. For $6500.00 there is no elevator, no garage, no walk in closet, no washer or dryer, burgundy bathroom fixtures with black wall ( can not tell if it is ceramic tiles ) and the layout does not make sense. Kitchen starts 1/2 inch from the entrance door. Bathroom fixtures is from the late 80’s. It is always the landlords responsibility to update his/her buildings.

The price is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! Not even sharing the rent I’ll take it! The rent is too damn much! I have a spacious 3 bedroom, large living room, 1 in a half bathroom, 15 windows, 6 closets ( one that I have my washer in) 3rd floor with transportation, and restaurant right around the corner and I pay 980.00 a month! No section 8 or P.A. Got this apt through a lottery 10 years ago. I’m not moving unless I hit lotto or they take me out of here dead on a stretcher lol. But seriously the rent for this place is just too much it ain’t worth it.

You could easily REVERSE the knobs and providing they still have the key, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a closet you could lock with a key to safeguard your stuff especially if you have roommates. An alternative is to remove the knob entirely and swap it for the one to enter your bedroom, putting the non-locking knob on the closet. This way you could secure your bedroom and all your belongings from roommates while you are gone.

Probably the previous tenants left after they shocked them to death with a giant rent increase. This apt seems to me to be for students that don't really care about the looks of the apt, only the location. I wouldn't want to enter that building late at night by myself. It's not the most inviting building to look at. Listen, somebody could walk through that door and think they died and went to heaven, I, personally, am not one of those people. A walk-up, totally depressing bathroom, and filthy dirty windows and a view out one window of a bunch of air conditioning units. I'll pass on that excitement.

In most other cities, it would be a considered a dump that would struggle to rent for $1500/mo. Yet somehow because it's NYC, it's considered a great deal because there are restaurants that you can't afford to eat at within walking distance.

Landlords charge whatever crazy people will pay to live in Manhattan! $1500 increase from 2020 rent price is crazy, but the property taxes in Manhattan are very high! No dishwasher plus don’t forget to add on the price of heat in the winter time and a/c in the summer time! Definitely another $300 a month. I suppose if you desire to get into the city at any cost, and you make $100k, then this is the share for you!

This layout is weird to me. I’ll take your word for it that the price is good. I know I can’t compare it to what I’d get for the same money where I live but I can’t help doing that. I could rent a 4-5 bedroom, 4.5 baths, 2 car garage, pool with a huge yard. The bedrooms are 15x18 with the living room being at least 24x16. So you can see why I have a hard time. Lol!🤣 Love your videos and it’s so interesting to see what rentals are in the city.

This is clearly a mixed bag chopped up apartment.
7:09 Brass doorknob with brass light fixture but in the same room the second light fixture at 7:18 is white.
7:27 Whose bright idea was it to put the breaker panel in a bedroom? Thats an instant fight between roommates as that panel must be accessible to everyone in case a breaker trips so they cannot lock their bedroom door.
8:10 They should at least try to match the door knob colours or install the closet one correctly.
8:45 thats and outdated color scheme.
This most likely will be shared by 2 people and that room with the breaker panel in it will be a shared room such as a home office.

I was literally watching your last tour of this place (from 2020 iirc) yesterday since you didn't upload; I recognized that bathroom's color scheme and the half-bath right away. 😂
Though it looks like the price is what would make me lose my mind--nuts that this would be $2250 a person in that part of the East Village, and sure, location/location/location, but I don't think it was that pricey in 2020 [EDIT: went back to check and it was $5200 in 2020--yeesh, that's a hike]. Other than that, it's definitely a nice apartment for roommates, rooms are good, having two living rooms [with the one near the kitchen maybe being more for a table] is good, I'd just maybe make the tub black or white for a better mesh; the black/red combo still looks odd, lol.
