I love the Woodford Reverse Double Oaked Bourbon for everyday go to use. Buffalo Trace is also always on our bar. We have some lovely Bourbons that are more expensive but to be honest Bulleit, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked and Buffalo Trace are really enjoyable. Terrific video Matt! I will definitely try and find The Jim Beam Black Extra Aged and try the bottle although I enjoy my everyday go to bourbons a lot. I am looking forward to Friday's cocktail! Cheers!! 🙂
tried it now for the first time and compared to white label it is like another dimension when it comes to taste,in a good side and try it with irish cream coffee also.
This was my intro to bourbon and for the price, i love it! Versatile with different preps, either on the rocks or neat or mixed. It's an easy smooth daily sipper that doesn't break the bank.
Exactly, I have a video coming out tomorrow where I use it in a Bourbon Renewal, as it gives a great 'bourbon' profile, without overpowering the drink.
How is 2016, 7 years ago? I have looked at this in the past solely due to that little award on the bottle but never took the plunge. Cheers for ticking this off my list for me! Also cheers to the 2k subs!! Well deserved.
What??? They say that on the label. Crazy. I do not mind this release, but I find so many more from Jim Beam I would take home first. OGD, KC 9, just to name a few. Cheers!
Nice one Matt! This one is better than the white label so if I buy a bourbon for cocktails I generally go for this or the Old No 7 for a more maple/pepper note. I bought the Jim Beam 12 as I love older Bourbons but that was a huge disappointment as the abv was so low I got no flavour whatsoever. Anything from Balcones makes me happy especially the Brimstone which makes a killer Smoky Old Fashioned but as a sipper beautiful bourbon Eagle Rare 10 is at the sweet spot with price and taste in my opinion. Cheers my friend!
What's your favourite go-to bourbon?
My go to is either WT101 or Makers Mark for sure!!

Im an Elijah Craig fan currently and Larceny.
@@dvsmike I enjoy Elijah Craig a lot and I haven't had Larceny but know a few people who really enjoy this bourbon!
@Christine Camley very similar to Elijah but slightly sweeter.

Oh, I should try it in an Irish (American) coffee too!
And yeah, it's another level compared to the 'regular' version

Cheers man! And yeah, every so often I catch myself and remember that the 2000s was TWENTY, not ten, years ago!
My favorite go to bourbon is the bottle that is opened. I keep a year’s supply of around 25 different bottles on hand, but drink them one at a time.
Ha! No chance of you running out!
I figured it out; one drink per day is equivalent to one bottle every two weeks.
Hey Matt another Great Review. I have not had this Jim Beam Black Extra Aged. cheers
Cheers Doc!
I’m not a huge fan of the Beam lineup, but their Old Grandad 114 (about $20 US) is really good as a daily sipper or mixer.
The OG114 is such a good sipper!
Where are you getting OGD 114 for $20?? I can't even get OGD Bonded for $20

Oh yeah, there's definitely plenty of solid choices which I would reach for before this. Not that this is bad, just that they are better.

That's disappointing that the JB 12 was such a let down. I've never tried Brimstone, but yeah, Eagle Rare is a great dram!
Jim Beam Black is very underrated.
It's a solid little bourbon!
