It was called public housing from the beginning. I lived in the projects for 6 years. My kids definitely enjoyed there time there. It's not where you live, it's how you live.♥️

Yeah I'm in low income housing been in my place almost 2 years, when I first moved in wasn't working but things are slowly moving forward and me and my son have a roof over our heads and that's all that counts.

I'm an old person and don't get why it's so bad to have the standard white appliances. My fridge, stove, dishwasher (barely used), everything works and is clean. That's all I care about.

Simply saying "APARTMENT TOUR" would do, and I also agree with not showing EVERY SINGLE LITTLE ITEM.😒
Creators need to literally step back and give us a ZOOMED-OUT view of the entire room from floor-to-ceiling, then zoom in a BIT more and talk about no more than four key pieces/ideas per room.
Some of us nosey people want to see every little thing 😅😂 but to each their own. Not your style just keep it moving but I respect it.

Hey Travis!! I'm a new subscriber, I enjoyed this video. One suggestion which may save you some heartache. Since you have shared on video everything you own, I wouldn't share my video channel with the tenants in the projects. These days no one is loyal and trustworthy after a dis agreement. In a couple years when you have reached financial security and able to relocate out the project and have top notch security, then tour with ease. I live in Senior Housing, and want keeps me here is the ability to save and be debt free. Also, look into a LLC, where you can have a separation of business and personal income. Remember the longer you can hold it down there, even if you have to pay more rent, the bigger your bank will grow. So protect you privacy and business. ❤

I worked in social services for years, met with many clients in their low income homes. The majority of them were kept very neat and clean. It’s a shame people assume low income means dirty. Glad you made this video to help people understand that low income housing isn’t bad.

Travis, thanks for sharing your space, so we are family right? So the solution to the spider nest which are the cords behind your entertainment center, is to go to wal-mart they have these tube like cord(s) organizer or hider. Cords are a peep peev of mine, so I have no spider nest. Lol

I live in the projects in Ypsilanti Michigan, Im trying to get out currently, its my dream apartment where I got everything I need to survive so I don't gotta go no where else for now until im physically able to work again. I feel blessed asf, but people don't understand its never mattered where we live its who we are and who we surround ourselves with that matters. Ive been in hud n section 8 and government housing since I was born, absolutely no shame its okay to be born into poverty n need help etc. beautiful home you've made Travis!

We lived in the projects for 23 years and GOD blessed my mother with a home that she is purchasing with an extra plot of land on the side of it. GOD is good and all the time GOD is good. However, when we lived in the projects my mother fixed it up like she was living in a home. She planted flowers and created an area for sitting outside. People walking down the street would stop and sit. There is nothing wrong with living in the projects, because it does not matter where you live it is how you live.

I hated washing dishes, even with a dishwasher. I bought some Dawn Powerwash spray and now I hand wash more than I put in the dishwasher. It’s so much faster. Wet you dish, spray it and wash then rinse. No filling the sink with water, sorting dishes etc. And there are 7 people living with me. So there’s a LOT of dish washing. Just a tip you might like even better than the wand.
I was a little skeptical about the dish spray, but I’ll definitely try. Thank you for the recommendation 😊

Make sure you take that back to spectrum they will charge you. Make sure you get a receipt when you turn it back in remote and all. They will come after you yrs later saying you didn't bring it back. Sometimes $500.

May I make a suggestion. The treats you have on top refrigerator can go in wicker, etc to hide, makes it look neater and a pretty plant next to it. I do this to hide messy looking cleaning supplies etc also. And use hangers for clothes of same color 😊

Everytime I watch one of these projects tours by people who live in the USA I can’t even believe the amount of space they have been given to live in and how they got dishwashers, their own washers and dryers in their apartments, that kitchens twice the size of mine. I’ve lived in government housing in Canada practically my whole life and theirs never been a spot dishwasher and only families that live in townhomes have washers. Plus here you have to provide all your appliances with your own money. The bedroom closet in that apartment is as big as my bathroom. I feel sick and angry every time I see the difference of how Canadians are treated over how USA citizens are treated.
Having to provide your own appliances is wild, especially for an apartment. 🤯🤯🤯
😊Please know that not ALL income-based housing complexes come with a washer, dryer, and dishwasher. I notice that the ones built in the 80's and later on have these extras; especially in the South. I live in an income-based apartment complex in NJ, and it was built in 1953. Well-maintained, yet we don't have those items because the pipes and electrical equipment wasn't built for it. I WISH I could have at least a washer. I would pay extra money to avoid having to go to the laundromat. 😊

Put your bread in the fridge it last longer
Hi Travis, you stated you did not know how to hide your cords. You can find a basket. Put all of the cords in the basket and cover the basket with the lid. You can always turn the basket to the open side facing the back. Push it as close to the wall as you can that will help you to hide your cords, just a suggestion.

Girl I wouldn't be able to live with roaches either why did I just dream about one last night though.. I have experienced mice and there are no fun either, I would suggest having them to detect where they may be entering and plug those holes. Stay blessed my love, you already know this is not your forever home.
Yes, I keep a can of Raid. I don’t like bugs, especially roaches, they creep me out lol… I don’t see how some people just let them walk around like they’re their roommates 😂😂 I think mice are a bit worse, sorry you had to experience that 😰

Sometimes apartment tours become lifetime stories. I expected a general look and tour of a typical project apartment? Not to get a back story of EVERY single item in he apartment. But I'm not a hater, I still subscribed.

A lot of public housing in the UK, was sold off to the tenants in the 1980'S & 1990'S mainly. Now the children & grandchildren of those buyers are moaning because there are few cheap homes for them to rent in desirable areas. Local councils across the land are not building any. Most newly built large private housing estates are supposed to provide a certain percentage of affordable homes. When I was aged 20-21, I rented one of these apartments in the UK. So I have some inkling about public housing. I did not stay long because every other person appeared to own a dangerous dog, and the people directly above me would start wood working at 3am every single night. You have made your home nice and comfortable. I really enjoyed your video.

Your cords take them and fold them up like and just have the amount you need to just reach the plug Take a tie wrap around the part you folded like .One of those ties you get at grocery store when you put like fruit in small bag they have in produce area IT looks much better May God continue blessing you and your family always.
