This was such a fun one to make as I remember Joel being stuck on what the hook for the chorus should be when showing me the rough idea for the first time. I heard the line “face down” and the rest just kind of fell in line after that✨ it was truly magical. Thanks for listening and playing cassette beasts! xx

The chorus kicking in every time i fuse is still one of the most fun bits
Ianthe and Wilma being the only fight in the game aside from the final boss’ second phase that has the lyrics playing right from the beginning was so sick

I'm a bit sad because it meant I basically never got to hear them, since I found it generally easier to remain in control of the battle with the two actions of my individual monsters. I may have fused, like, four times in the entire game.
And it's a pity because this is some great music!
Literally! and just being able to fuse takes a couple missions or archangels, but wow at least you got to play it im still waiting for the 25th on switch 😭 I’m exited I’m just watching someone do a playthrough
I just finished it on Xbox it was wonderful experience definitely a different take on the tactical monster catch game
@@drascin With fusions it’s a lot easier to stack buffs with double cast since you don’t run out of ap as much and you don’t have to buff up two monsters at the same time, while also making the 50% heal technique twice as effective, I used the same for pretty much every archangel and so far haven’t had any problems except for the one that spams sleep because I for got to equip the resistance (and it was pretty obvious I should have, and I knew I should have because the game gives you the anti sleep skill in a chest in the dungeon)
I always stacked the double cast, aoe, ap regen, life drain and heal over time abilities, which trivialised most fights up until now since I can just double strike attack while the healing keeps me mostly healed up and I also ran the ap refund skill to be able to afford the skill spam.
@@drascin I'm guilty for fusing and just listening to the music haha. Was it a waste of a fusion...?? Nah.
I just became a Ranger Captain and this blasting while I clutched the battle with one Cassette left is a new CORE MEMORY. Fantastic game 10/10

i cheesed it with rewinds and burn effect.
i had it hardest difficulty, (the one where everything levels with u) and accidently became level 90 by the time the fight happened.
When ur that late game, the amount of stickers at ur disposal is crazy, so the fight became a joke with like 4 hits taken in total (also unitarget is busted lol)

Gotta say I love what I've heard of this games soundtrack so far, gives a heavy "The World Ends with You" Vibe to me which is always a plus. Can't wait to transfer my 5hr save from the demo to the Full Game on April 26th

I am going to buy this game. First game I have ever bought solely because of the soundtrack 😄
1:25 is such a good point in the song, from the delivery to the meaning, to the tone and even the idea that the instruments get a bit more background and calm except the drumming, which is the heartbeat is crazy good. Im not gonna lie, the soundtrack is probably one of the bigger reasons this is so high on my list.
I'm already hyped for the game, and this new track is really damn good, can't wait for the release!

I played the whole game with vocals off so I didn't really hear the vocals version of this song until the end of the game. It made that fight feel really intense and now I'm addicted to this song lol

My first playthrough the battle with Ianthe ended on Leaving you here Face Down. it also was such a difficult fight that i cheered quite loudly it was honestly such an epic moment that no other monster game has been able to give me. Good music elevates gameplay and you guys put this one on the moon.
u know that feeling when you defeat gearyu and then ianthe has the unforgiving djinn entonic and this song just blasts. quality music to be tortured to

The little bit at the begging where the song is playing on the on-beat instead of the off-beat and it sounds so much more serious, only to flip all on its head. It makes me think of like you’re staring down the ranger captain trying to be all serious, but then one of you cracks a smile or snickers, and then you just let loose and have fun

This feels like it would be a great workout song.
In my playthrough, this was probably the 2nd-least heard vocal version, because I generally saved fusions for emergencies (Archangels, Rogue Fusions, etc). So it was quite special to hear it when facing Ianthe and Wilma. (Sidenote: I haven't done the rematches with the ranger captains yet)

Where can we find the ambiental OSTs? Like the one in the mall, the one when you're camping and so on? I feel like I could listen to those to no end.
I really didn't expect the lyrics in this game to grow on me, but they have. I just wish the game, being music-themed, had a bigger soundtrack and let us pick between our favorite music genres to be used as the games' songs. Like I would have loved to pick Nu Metal as the soundtrack genre for my playthrough.
This music is solid, would have been cool if the music had a Side A and Side B to really hammer home the cassette theme or that the music itself was significantly more integrated since the lyrics kick in with fusion. It would be cool to have more nostalgia of what people did with cassettes like mixing partner themes with player or battle themes (mix tapes, physical remixes, etc), being able to reverse the tracks as an option (more of a gag about people playing songs backwards for 'secret tracks'), etc. a.k.a. more music and a sequel please and I'd love to see more experimenting with the theme deeper.

when you are doing the stand off whit the rematch of the first leader, because you didnt bring multy hit moves but rather dog years spam combo, so neither of you is dying fast and both keep getting healed and basicly undo the damadge that was durns till the nex cycle appears, but some misses on his end whit rng worked out well whit my you mis you get fcked strategy. took prob 40 turns to beat the rematch.
Edit: had the same thing happen whit the sleep spammers, because i let my friend chose 3 mons this time so we didnt really had a strategy or then big damadge, the fights i did in solo again went like a breeze whit my bootleg aqua medusa and the big ap multistrike spam and double ap refund for the petrification fusion power spam, petrify shuts down pretty much any strategy these leaders have.

...As much as I love the game, Gladiola and Ianthe are things that I would never want to fight ever again. They were *not fun.* Especially that fucking Djinn Entonic that *loves* to confuse both party members.
