My partner passed away last year in April and my mom moved to California and my dad moved to Texas. my siblings moved as well. Aside from my little brother who lives with me. Ive been feeling a bit down about the holidays alone. I didnt really know how i would be able to enjoy them. but after watching this video, and seeing the environment that was created with hosting Thanksgiving with just good friends, and good food. IDK it just kinda made me excited about next year. Makes me want to the same with all of my friends. Pretty random i know but just thought i would say thanks for doing that.
Friendsgiving is a thing nowadays. It's so much fun and drama is kept to a minimum. Some of the best Thanksgivings I had was with friends when I couldn't go home while in college. After I got married we gathered up with my in-laws. It was nice & dull w/ some family drama. Boo! After they passed I went back to a mix of family & friends. Thanksgiving is fun again. Have the dinner be potluck. It works out wonderfully. I have a feeling that you'll have fun & make great memories.
Hang in there. The holidays bum me out too since I am halfway across the world from my family, but spending it with friends is really awesome and a blessing. I love what an intimate gathering and good food can do for the soul.
Is it weird that I’ve watched this 3 or 4 times over the past two years, just for the enjoyment of it? It’s kind of like an episode of Friends, except it’s not annoying, and it has useful content. :-) The kitchen also reminds me, happily, of apartments in old houses I lived in as a student on the East Coast.
She's a stereotypical millennial with bad tattoos, cheap sarcasm, sentences that end in question marks, and lame jokes. And she drinks cold brew and pets a pug and shops at Whole Foods. She could be anywhere...NYC, Austin Texas, Madison Wisconsin, San Francisco...anywhere these human gentrification types go and suck the life out of places.
Why did I just watch a near 40 minute video? Do I live own my own? No. Do I cook Thanksgiving dinner for the whole family? No. Do I even eat turkey? No. But I absolutely loved every minute of this and I don't know why. This woman deserves her own cooking show on the Food Network.
I guess being Canadian I don't get it, because often we just recreate the thanksgiving feast as it's been over two months, but doing only 4 weeks later I guess wouldn't be as acceptable
i love this !! because it's so realistic and true.. i get so tired of watching chefs and cooks working in some huge kitchen with state of the art appliances and all ..just isn't what many of us are dealing with , and working with!!! thanks sooo much for this video, and so much honesty :-))) happy holidays to you 👍👍
I watched the Bon appetit video of them coming up with the Thanksgiving magazine and I remember Brad Leoni saying we can't forget normal people don't have a test kitchen or multiple stoves to cook on! Lol.
I made your turkey, your stuffing, and your green beans this Thanksgiving. Such a hit! I bake sourdough bread, so I used it for the stuffing. It was THE BEST stuffing I've ever had, and I'm not over-exaggerating that. People were raving about it and wanting the recipe. The green beans were so good and complimented the meal as a nice healthy vegetable, instead of heavy "green bean casserole." Thank you very much!
she’s fun. her cooking is rustic and the food looks like it is packed with crazy flavor. The way she cooks it’s amazing. It’s like she’s not even trying ( because she knows what she’s doing ) but she is so passionate at the same time. You can tel;l she has a lot of experience.
Now when I watch videos of people gathering I cringe and feel anxious but then remind myself there was once a time when we didn’t unknowingly have a silent virus.

What I love is the fearlessness of your commitment to creating something for the season and many of your friends - and videotaping it for us. I am also a cook and I love breaking conventions once I discover a better way. When I cook with my children they are allowed to take part and do what they think is tasty. I'm now 78 and both of my boys are chefs. I taught them as you cook - and they create wonderful food. You are a joy to watch.
Thanksgiving is my super bowl! It’s at my house and I make the menu. The hubs and I listen to a lot of 80s music and drink a lot of red wine while cooking. It’s hard work but the reward of good food, good wine , and good memories make the day super special. Happy Thanksgiving!🍽

It was great to see Alison rush at the end. That's me in a nutshell. What's important is that my friends keep my champagne flute stays topped during the last hour of cooking.

You're hilarious!! Also, it's so refreshing to watch a cooking show in a REAL kitchen!!
I love her she is just so real && so down to earth && just funny lol. She def needs her own cooking show because she needs to be on tv so come on food network && make it happen ASAP cause we need some new faces like this. JUST LOVE HER ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was so cozy and sophisticated. I enjoyed every morsel and I wasn't even there!

Really liked this video, third time. Love the format and reality feels. Doesn’t feel like 40 min. video at all.
Alison Roman is consistently charming and fun to watch! Love this!
I just came across this channel and I immediately fell in love with you!! Lol. Thank you for being yourself and not being fake for TV lol. You rock, girl!
