Page 217 : Sardar Swaran Singh (negotiator) met with Longowal and then Bhindranwale in Amritsar. Agreement was reached by all sides as to Anandpur resolution. "When Swaran Singh came back to Delhi, Mrs Gandhi told him he was much too pro-Akaliand she could not agree to his plans". Thus ended his efforts.
Amrinder Singh MP of Patiala and Devinder Singh MLA attempts would also fail. (2nd time Indira backed out).
Page 217 Pande writes: "Third attempt was made by some opposition leaders... Harkishan Singh, Surjeet of CPI (M)...Principal secretary Dr P.C. Alexander... Krishnaswamy Rao Sahib and Home Secretary T.N. Chaturvedi... Akalis were also present". Page 218 "Prime Minister did not return the final draft with her approval.
Page 220. Pande writes: But a large section of the Indian press and Congress (I) party at the centre and the states, if not directly then certainly by innuendo, continued to suggest that the Akali Dal and SGPC were in favor of Khalistan, that they were not in agreement to settle the issues with the Government of India...". A feeling was created in Hindu minds Sikhs are pro Khalistanis."This created a serious rift in the two communities". This shows the power of the press to lie to masses minority(used as scape-goats) vs majority.
The politics in 2024 are the same create an environment of hate towards a group to hold on to power. This is how upper caste gov holds its power. It claims it is for the Majority (Hindus). But it shares no power with the lower or middle castes. It uses middle castes and lower castes for violence against a minority community claiming the Hindu 80% is in danger.
Lies of the Indian media would create massacres in the country. The gov in the center always finds a way to divert attention from real issues of Indian. Economy, job creation national debt etc. It seems it is easy to blame minority to get the vote of the majority.
Governor of Punjab, B.D. Pande's Book: "In the service of free India" writes: "But in all this turmoil, a fact always overlooked is that the Sikh masses have not gone berserk. In fact, they have kept their calm and, as a mob, never attacked the Hindus, unlike the Hindu mobs in Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The Sikh masses and Akali Dal have always stood for Hindu-Sikh unity. Will the Hindu majority act with restraint and forbearance? I have my doubts. They are led by self-seeking political leaders who will stoop to any lengths to get votes. They, and the press, continue to sow seeds f bitterness against Sikhs. (Chapter 14 Punjab 1984 and after page page 306/307).
It is to note that the Sikhs did not kill Hindus in the masses. The so called terrorists went after gov officials, and members of the press that instigated violence and hate speech on Sikh for years. Even today the Indian media treats minorities as 2nd class citizens like they have done with the Dalits for over 2500 years. Some times it is the Muslims that are a scapegoat, others Sikhs, or Adivasis like in Manipur etc. Christians to have seen the fear and anti-Christian agenda of the RSS/BJP. The upper caste like to divide and maintain the grip of power over 96.5% of non-Brahmins of India.
Pawan Kumar Sharma of Patiala openly invited Hindus to attack Sikhs in their houses and shops. CM Bhajan Lal of Haryana asked Pande why he was arrested. P.C. Sathi to asked why the arrest and asked Pande to release him. Page 279-P281.
Pande quotes "The point that I am trying to rive home is that these extreme Hindu communalists were being helped by the highest Congress (I) circles in Delhi and elsewhere". Congress (I) = on the side of Indira Gandhi. (There was a rift of the old Nehru vs Indira loyalists with in the party.) Page 280.
Indira Gandhi was like Gango or Chandu or the 22 Hindu Kings. These above mentioned would conspire or help the Mogual authorities to attack Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his Sikhs. She started a dialog with the Sikhs but she would go back on her word three times as to Anandpur resolution.
P214 Indira told CM Darbar Singh to withdraw Punjab water rights case. Punjab had backing of Ex-Chief Justice Hidayatullah, other legal authorities and Vice president of India. (1980)
