Thanks for making the video. I used the replacement burner with the new metal rod and it works. And your instructions to place the three labeled connectors plus keep the other two left and right. That was good. Instructions that came with did not cover that.
Great video! I am trying to buy one online and I notice that the new model seems to have a hot surface indicator light attached to it. I don't have that on my original element so I am wondering if that's removable? I noticed that your instruction sheet has a picture of the element with the "hot light" too
I don't think my heating element have indicator light attached. when heated up they turn red though, the indicator light should be a separate sensor on the range that detects the higher than normal temperature when heating element is still hot.
I just matched the connector color with original connector number, which ever color is connected to the original burner connector number as marked such as 1A / 1B / 2A /2B etc goes to the new one with same corresponding number
Hi , I just need to know the black wire and the red wire where it’s attached in the limiter .because in the other burner it’s attached in opposite terminal .do you have the picture that you copy when you install your burner?that can help me where that black and red goes . Thanks 😮
I would toss that range because the top looks terrible. Maybe save it for a hunting cabin or basement. NEVER buy these crap flat top units. Use the old coil units that last forever and change in 2 minutes without tools. And no disgusting burnt top to look at.
Richard Raucina only because I did not clean the top before replacement. The top is made of tempered glass and is super easy to clean after clean it looks just like the rest of the top surface. The coil range gets messy real quick compared to these units. And this one had lasted at least a decade with just one failed coil.
I have one in a rental, the top really wont come clean. I think those units are perhaps dangerous from the amount of heat trapped under that lid. At least a coil unit actually touches the pan and if left on, will dissipate the heat. I admit to admiring the build quality of the element unit.
you saved me today with this video, especially about how the extra steps, don't even apply!
Glad I could help!

When it comes to opening up the range and getting the ceramic elements out you are missing out a lot of important details and advice.
