- After cancellation in 2020, the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion returned in 2021 for another year of steam-powered, old fashioned fun for all ages in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. This video features the two railroad-themed attractions at the Reunion: the Midwest Central Railroad and Midwest Electric Railway. The Midwest Central Railroad operates narrow-gauge steam trains, featuring their 2-6-0 engine 6, and Shay geared locomotive 9. New for this year, recently overhauled diesel locomotive D-9 also pulls trains around the grounds. The Midwest Electric Railway had three of their cars running on the circular line around the Old Threshers campgrounds, including Italian streetcar 1945, and open-air trolleys 1718 and 1779. Over four days of the 5-day event, I documented all the trains and trolleys as they pass many locations across the grounds, stop at various stations, and we'll also take rides on both lines on various equipment. Other Old Threshers attractions are also featured in the program, including the Steam Powerhouse, traction engines, the steam powered carousel, and a mock train robbery in the wild-west themed North Village.
I always enjoy making the Old Threshers videos and they're some of my most requested and anticipated each year. This one was a little late making it to RUclips this time around, but I still hope you enjoy it!

Can the Midwest central railroad push #6's train up the north hill during the old threshers reunion with one of the diesel locomotives
Did you here that 9 won't be running for the 2022 reunion.
I did hear about this a few days ago. Sounds like both diesels will be operating along with engine 6 - the first time that I'm aware of where diesel outnumbered steam on the MCRR at Old Threshers! Should be interesting.
I can tell you why
What kind of issues did #6 have the second day of the 2021 old threshers reunion
The right side eccentric rod/transmission yoke pin worked loose.
@@kendallosier802OK. #6 is my favorite locomotive on the roster. How do you keep #6's cab connected to the tender? Can the Midwest central railroad push #6's train up the north hill during the old threshers reunion with one of the diesel locomotives
@@troy4579 it would be able to and has had to help for reasons in the past but I don't see a reason to use the diesel to push the train up the hill unless need be
@@jpg3reeves It still needs help on the hill because I don't to see it get injured worse then last reunion. How do you keep #6's cab connected to the tender?
@@troy4579 There's a draw bar between the tender and the engine and the 6 can pull a train just fine up the hill without the aid of diesel
When will you make 2022
I'm working on the 2022 video right now, I'm aiming for a late April-early May 2023 release.
