- I want to share with you my thoughts on the Leica M10 one year after owning it for a little over a year. The Leica M10 has been my daily driver and my everyday carry for just about every event I have shot in 2022 and half of 2021. It is also one of the few cameras that I have shot a lot of my personal work on over the last year plus.

Shooting my first wedding with the m10 soon. The excitement grows every day before the big day. Loved this message and video, Tim. Only a matter of time for you with the quality you put out.
your work is about to forever change. Your tool is going to bring out the most in you :)
Let’s go Lee!! Can’t wait to hear about it.
You nailed it on the first comments about other RUclipsrs and the practice of reviewing cameras for the hype and not the long term use. I recently picked up an M10-P for what I consider to be a fantastic price considering I could have turned around and flipped it for another $1000. So far loving the camera along side my M6 TTL.
Enjoyed this Tim. Good inspiration as I edit my next video out and about with my m8.2
I am glad that the algorithm just recommended your video to me. Excellent presentation, especially the motivational speaking part. Liked, and Subscribed! A locally-available pre-owned Summilux-M 50mm ASPH lured me into adding the Leica M system, in April 2018. That was when it was just becoming possible to buy a new M10, without having to first be on a waiting list. I believe that the M10 remains wonderfully relevant, today.
Great points! New M10 owner here and happy to hear your points.
I loved seeing the images at the end. Thanks for the video
Good video. Enjoyed it and it’s helped cement some ideas and impressions I have about the M10. Love it……….hate it……….can’t bring myself around to letting it go.
Love your comprehensive review. Very concise and informative.
Thank you kindly!
Great video Tim! Just spot on!
I have waited and hoped that You would make this deeper review on the M10.
👌👍🔝📸
Peter, hey! Thanks so much for the watch. Next time ill make sure my audio isn't so bad but thanks for watching
Great photos and great follow up review on leica m10, may I ask about on your 1 year experience If you service the camera in leica service center for adjustment or maintenance? Thanks 🙏
Thanks for the motivation man ✌I am a sports photographer but enjoy documenting my own personal life through my camera also. Gonna give the 36 photos a day challenge a go 🤘
It's something that I think we should all do. I often feel like I can fall into seasons when I only pick up my camera for jobs and I then fall into funks
Nice video, I wish to put my hands on a digital Leica one day to use my Leica lenses. 👍🏻👍🏻
One day soon you’ll make it happen
Whenever you’re not in a hurry or suffer from GAS, depreciation can be even less. Late 80s I sold my fathers M4-2 to get an M6. I received more for the M4-2 than what he had paid for it. In 2013 I sold my M6 for way more than what I paid for it in order to buy an M7. A few months ago, someone offered me $3800 for my M7. About $1200 more than what I’d paid for it 9 years ago. Now, I know that you have to correct for inflation, but as a professional photographer during the same period I’ve burned way more money on my Canon and Fuji gear than ever on my Leica gear… and the good thing is… Leica lenses hold their value even better 😉
Now you've had it for a year, time to move it on to me :-)
Audio is over-modulated (level too hot).
Copy. Thanks for the note. I thought I corrected it.
@@timriddick2 Ah someone beat me to it. Microphone is like a lens, while audio interface more or less like the image sensor in the camera. I see that you're using an SM7B, which is a notoriously quiet mic (camera equivalent of a lens that only opens up to f10, say) so naturally you want to crank up the gain on your interface (camera equivalent of cranking up ISO). What you don't want to do, is to crank it up so high that it starts clipping, just like you blow out your highlight in a shot.
So just like photography, you want to keep your eye on the meter, because once it clips, there's nothing you can do in post to fix it.
Appreciate your honesty in this review. I would've also loved to hear what you didn't like about using the M10. Maybe in a future video? Thanks!
this does not apply to everyone who uses DSLRs or mirrorless AF cameras, or even rangefinders, but one thing that is true about using a rangefinder is that it is a deliberate process - you have to frame and focus with intention, therefore it is about creating an image, ie making vs. taking an image with an automated system where frequently you can shoot multiple frames and sometimes end up with something good, but perhaps without intent. a rangefinder forces you to confront how you operate as a photographer. Are you a maker or taker of images?
You gotta get the 28mm summilux
It's definitely on my short list of things to get. Thanks for the watch and the comment!
Your mic is too hot it’s distorted
I tried one today at Leica Miami. First time trying a range Finder. Amazing. Loved it. Want one.
Leica cameras are hard to kick once you try one. Thanks for the watch!
@@timriddick2 thanks for the video
