I really loved the original ANSI Classics! My favorite sunglasses of all time, thanks to the Terminator. It sucks that Gargoyles has discontinued them. At least there's these now. I guess you can call the Novus the modern remake of the original ANSI Classics.
After watching your video I ordered a pair of these Gargoyles from the same supplier you did on eBay "Karens Sunglasses" from the link you provided. Thanks for the review and recommendation.
+Dennis W the ones I reviewed in this video were dropped and the lenses scratched. I bought another pair just like it. I still wear them. Definitely not a $100 pair of sunglasses but cool for 55.
+Bendc1970A1 Thanks for the heads up on the scratching. I guess any sunglasses these days will scratch if they have plastic lenses, most of mine end up scratched at some point. I'm one of those people that never pay more that $20.00 for sunglasses just for that reason. But after seeing and hearing how much you like these I thought I'd fork out the $55. But NEVER $100 for sunglasses !! No way !! LOL
I ordered the Gargoyles Classics and to me, It feels as If you're wearing nothing...Very light sun shades, good quality lens and perfect for all occasions.
I own a a pair of Original Terminator Gargoyles, they come from the same year the hero sunglasses were, they have the same color lenses as the real ones as well, I'm going to put up a review on mine, first gens are rare and very hard to obtain, I happened to have a friend get mine for 40 bucks and I got them given to me.
I bought these over ebay, the Gargoyles Novus BLK SMK 133. Fantastic design, but despite i was Very careful with them the plactic thin hinge broke. The sunglasses are so so so fragile. I could just have them a few times during a couple of months :( IF you have already bought these i STRONGLY recommend that you try to reinforce the thin plastic hinges. How? I dont know, because there is not much room for it. I used a thin layer of strong epoxy glue, not that I know if it will do any diffrence in the strenght. But I'll give it a try. And btw, the sidepiece also broke on another occasion, how I dont even know. I own and have owned Alot of sunglasses, these are by far the most fragile ones of them all. I will soon try to fix my broken hinge by gluing alot of epoxy there, and then drill a small hole in that for the screw to fasten the sidepiece to the sunglasses. I dont even know if this will work, but its a very strong epoxy i have, I'll just hope it work out. If I'd knew of this before, I would have bought the Gargoyles with the metal sidepieces.
Mine are still holding up in the hinge area. I replaced one set because of a drop right on the lenses. I'm also thinking of getting a pair of the classics with the metal hinges. Right now I'm wearing ray ban 4075 and they, along with the 4068 are getting complaints of breaking plastic at the hinge.
I had the originals and then I guess a second generation of the originals I think they started making them in china then.years later I ordered a set from the factory when they came they were heavy thick plastic you could not see through.I sent them back.are these closer to the 85's ? I have a large head and the 85's are a little to small.them disappearing on your head is what the original ones did.you could see everything very very clear.
I have the original pair of gargoyles from the movie when they first came out with them. And those looks nice, but they are not lime the one he wore on the movie. I also bought the new ones,and they are not that bad. They look almost like the original. Except the original ones I got, they look slightly larger.

I've always wanted to know how much their sales went up after "The Terminator" was released. I bet the Gargoyles company made a nice chunk of dough.
