    I’m always surprised at the valve check expense requirements on these bikes. Yes, it’s nice to know information before you buy, but it’s hard to believe folks shopping in this price category will have maintenance expense be a huge factor. First valve check doesn’t come until 14k, IIRC, and you CAN learn to do it yourself with proper tools, as I did on my K1200S. While you have it apart, you can easily do other things like change plugs (if needed) and flush coolant.

    Yall save your money and avoid these bikes...oil change alone is over $300. Worse thing many owners complain about is it's instability on the highway, especially the k1600 grand america. I know because I own one. Bmw knows it's unstable and unsafe as well which is why they limit it to 100 mph.

    Top speed? Or more to the point is it governed and if so at what speed? I would be bummed if I bought one and it was governed at 120. With that motor I need to open it up and roll at 140-150 if I should so happens to be on a deserted road, on a Sunday morning, in July, at dawn.

    The bags still just look like an after thought, I was hoping BMW would've did a better job at the integration of the bags on the bagger! But the price doesn't seem all to bad compared to the competition, naturally I read the comment with the high service cost, but then I guess it's like owning a H-D....

    • @williambutler3630
      @williambutler3630 Год назад

      Because they wanted it to be more of a cruiser, they put round bars on it so that all the cruiser bolt-on accessories would fit. The GT and GTL have sport bars. But if you like your FJR riding position, you wouldn’t like the B most likely, anyway.
