I put 412's on my Sportster Custom, and as I weigh a heck of a lot more than you I went with the Heavy Duty. I tell you what - best ride ever afterwards!!!
I've said before and say it again that father in law of yours is a bloody keeper. I put the Burly Brand 13.5 progressives on my 2016 48 a good bang for buck upgrade.
I’ve got the 412’s on my Sporty. Installed them in 2005. They’ve been fantastic shocks. I’m just now getting around to replacing the rubber bushings which I got from Progressive. Great shocks imo. Enjoy! 👍🏻👍🏻
Not sure if anyone has asked yet but what was the rear suspension travel after doing this swap? If I'm not mistaken they start at around 2 inches. Do these shocks get them up to/beyond 3 inches? Thanks! 😁
Apes are much more comfortable and give better control over the handling. Also I prefer the look of apes on the sportster as the brake master cylinder and hand controls are too big for the rabbit ears.
it's been a while! great mod to the bike as well as that awesome drone footage. with you mentioning that your wife may be riding with you does that mean return of the 2-up saddlemen seat?
Has been a minute mate. No I ended up selling the saddlemen seat. I've bought a sullys customs king and queen seat for that traditional chopper style look.
I can't seem to find the same lift as mine online any more. I did buy it over 5 years ago. Here's a link to another lift I'd go with if I had to replace mine. www.wholesalesuperstore.com.au/atv-hydraulic-bike-lift-680kg-super-low-profile
Now that it has been 11 months have the shocks broke in more with use? Also, would you still go with the heavy duty? Do you adjust the shock when your wife rides, or just go with one setting for both scenarios? Sorry for all the questions, looking to buy a set myself. Great video.
Thanks Mac, yes sir, I'm going to upgrade the fork springs, also going to ditch the white walls and change the tyres for some classic style tyres. I'm also waiting on a king and queen seat to arrive.
Never owned one but I did buy a 107 after watching one of your blogs... I enjoyed it but felt as though it just wasn't for me. Sold it bought a triumph bobber, which I really enjoyed then sold it and now on a 103 dyna super custom and absolutely love it mate.... Keep the vids coming mate .
@@MacMckenzie thanks for following the channel mate. Nice one mate, the 103 is probably my favourite Harley engine. My first Harley was a 2013 softail slim 103 and was an awesome bike.
I've got the trackerdie brand extended fork dampers which add 3 inches in length. I did an install vid on my channel. I Also saw on instagram trackerdie the company posted a video stating the company is having some big issues and isn't supplying any of there products at the moment and are issuing people refunds on recent purchases. Just a heads up in case you wanted to buy them.

NGL watching you ride on the "wrong" side of the road makes me so anxious lol

Thanks mate, yep I couldn't be happier with them.
Hey just saw your slim tank exchange on the Street Bob. With all the parts needed. 👍Great job, awesome video.
Cheers brother 🙌

Doin well with the bikes , keep up tha good work , hope all is well , looks like its amping up in Sydney , stay safe my friend 🤟
Thanks brother, yeah life's good mate. hope you're well.
Your bike is looking awesome brother 🤙
Cheers Dave, keen to see how the sullys cutsoms King and Queen seat will look on it.
@@TheGingybeardMan Hell yes it will top it off.
Awesome brother
Why did you switch back to apes again? Didn't you like the Rabbit Bars?
Apes are much more comfortable and give better control over the handling. Also I prefer the look of apes on the sportster as the brake master cylinder and hand controls are too big for the rabbit ears.
Hey lovely bike, super tidy! what year is yours? And what air filter have you got there please?
@@JohnHD95 I have a tc bros air cleaner and it's a 2015 sportster 72
Can you tell the SKU model number of these shocks, please? Thank you
@@v-twin.ukraine sure mate it's SKU: PS-412-4066B
Would you recommend these for a 2017 forty eight going cross country? I'm doing route 66 both ways next year in May.
Yes I sure would. These are so much better than stock. Well worth the money.

Nice video dude! Definitely considering grabbing these shocks. Curious, what lift are you using in your shop?

The suspension firmness really didn't change over time. To be honest my wife and I never did a ride together so can't answer that one.
Nice 👍🏾….how did you hook up your mirrors ?
They're prism supply triple tree mount mirrors, I did an install vid on my channel of them 🤙
What height did you go for? Fellow sydneysider. I know i need the heavy duty for my 48. 125 kg.
Hey man i went with the 11.5 inch shocks and I weighed 85kgs at the time.
Can you tell me how many over your front tubes are?
Thanks
2.5 inches over. I used the trackerdie extended fork dampers. There's a video of the install on my channel
@@TheGingybeardMan sweet, thanks brother
Once again, enjoyed your vid mate. You got any further plans around the HD ?

@@TheGingybeardMan looking forward to seeing the work getting done mate. Have to say you've hung onto this bike, do you miss the 107 ?
@@MacMckenzie I do miss the 107 but honestly I have just as much fun with the sporty. It's so light and has plenty of torque too.
