She was the perfect dizzy blonde. She is also a brilliant businesswoman, an outstanding actress and was one of the most well read people in America in the 60s.
Laugh in had a great cast great guest, but Goldie Hawn made, makes you laugh, hard every episode, I'm 53, laugh in was filmed before and during my life, RUclips will keep it coming g I just subscribed for laugh I group, and it's 2024, now and I'm Dessie Dorrian from Ireland, I've lived in both America and Ireland, so it wont escape me now😊😊
@@Nick-ty9usFirst time I saw Butterflies Are Free on TV, I began to find out who that cute girl was. I also enjoy Private Benjamin and her other more mature roles since then.

I grew up near Burbank and in 1968 when I got my first car at 17, I would go to a lot of Laugh In tapings before joining Navy in 1970. Surprisingly they weren't well attended. Always under 100 in a studio that would seat about 250/300. One time between skit setups I went to the vending machines that were in the service corridor and there in front of me at the candy machine was Goldie Hawn in a bikini and her painted tattoos. I wanted to say something, but I was tongue tied. Many times between setups I would wander the backstage corridors and walk right pass a lot of celebrities and no one said anything or tried to stop me. Bob Hope, Danny Thomas, Sammy Davis Jr, Carrol Burnett to name some. I know that couldn't happened today. Different era. The tapings and especially Goldie were hilarious. On TV I thought she was putting on an act but seeing her live it definitely wasn't an act.
My fifth grade class went to the Burbank Studio on a field trip in 1968. We briefly met two of the women from Laugh-In. I think it was Ruth Buzzi and Judy Carne since both looked petite size. It's hard to remember exactly. It was a real pleasant surprise 🤩.
At 01:08 in an unscripted moment Goldie intentionally kisses Sammy Davis Jr. and the network censors let it slip by...One year earlier, with James Garner in for cameos with most of the female cast, Garner was not allowed to embrace or kiss African-American cast member Chelsea Brown.
3:52 - Goldie really won that Oscar, for best supporting actress in *Cactus Flower* (1969). The whole skit is about now she's a star, too big to be a Laugh-In regular anymore. Of course, it was all just for fun. (They socked it to her.)
@@SharonKlein-qw6sd In that sketch she is introduced to Dennis Allan, Nancie Philips and Barbara Sharma. All three started on the show in the fourth season which was in the fall of 1970. Kurt Russell REALLY hit the jackpot when he got Goldie. There must be millions of men who wanted him to fall under a bus, as she HAS to be one of the most attractive ladies in the world. Gorgeous does not even begin to describe how great she looks.
Now she’d get cancelled but it was funny back then, he thought it was funny too, she mocked herself for being a blonde, no one cared about those things then.
Amazing that when we knew her for real later, she was smart, could be serious, this zany blonde was a character, but it doesn’t seem so, it seems so natural. The whole cast were marvellous, we watched it as children in the U.K. and we loved it, it was so colourful, fast and funny.
Makes very little if any sense: on laugh in bikinis, cleavage, navels were permitted but barbara eden as Jeannie wasn't even allowed to show her belly button 🤯🤣🤪🤔
I wish life was as easy and as fun as Goldie Hawn makes it look.
That's the beauty about here. She has fun no matter the circumstances.
Do you really think she has no problems of her own or hardship?
Absolutely!
Well, when you were paid to be stoned all day, life's pretty good.
Well said! I always loved her on R and M, she was so sweet and funny.
I remember watching laugh-in and could not wait for Goldie to come on. She was so cute.

You just could NOT not love Goldie❤😊
I just turned 60! I loved Laugn in as a kid!
The only, and my favorite, dumb blond. Absolutely adorable. Laugh-In was not the same after she left the show. I adore her.
I agree, the show wasn't the same. That's why I'll watch the first 3 seasons more.
She was the perfect dizzy blonde. She is also a brilliant businesswoman, an outstanding actress and was one of the most well read people in America in the 60s.
As a child I adored Goldie Hawn. She was an adult being 'quirky and fun".
Everybody LOVES Goldie.
She stole my heart with that wonderful giggle.
Loved Goldie’s character in this show she made it look easy
Oh Goldie! That adorable giggle & very under appreciated intelligence & acting! Brings back happy memories from my childhood.

She was so young and CUTE she was irresistible
I love the Goldie Oldies
Goldie Hawn is so American, and what a treasure she is. It's really all the smartest actors who perfect appearing the dumbest.
Goldie, Goldie, Goldie! She's always been a star!
My mom, God resting her beloved soul, adored Goldie Hawn. Happy Mothers day to all mothers.😊
Goldie Hawn was my first crush as a teenager. The cutest thing on TV back then.
Have you seen any of her movies since then?

This was the most Adorable , 70s-ist thing I ever saw in my life, and here for it. 💖✌🌈
The intelligence that it takes to play her persona is extremely hard, she made it virtually impossible to not love her. God bless you Goldie.

goldie created an amazing character
we really believed she was a ditz
Love her giggles.
6:06 the summary of Goldie's great sense of humor
Talented, funny & beautiful 👍❤
Goldie was beautiful and funny!
She was extraordinary
Goldie is a shear genius then and now.
Those were the days, life was much less complicated, I love that show and Goldies laughing she was contagious!!!
Just love her
A GEM!!!!!!! A true lifelong treasure!!!
Glad you enjoyed this!
She's Fabulous extremely funny. Hilarious ❤
So good at what she did!
Holy hell she was some wicked cute.
I just love her❤
Her description of the draft was funny. My birthday, May 22 was number 19 on that list.
Samala! Great part with Sammy Davis. Goldie is a peach! 😂 Uncle Ben! 🤣🤣
Carol Channing! Oh how I loved her growing up. Goldie was my favorite part of Laugh-In too. 🙂
Oh, Carol Channing! She just makes you smile.
She made that show so funny
A great comedian she just had perfect timing. She may have been the most talented on the show
when did she become a man? I always thought that she was a "Commediene"
pure candy. but they were all so great.
She is still stunning.
I was 16 or 17 when this show debuted. I think I would lay awake at nights trying to decide if Goldie or Judy Carne had better legs.
I was 10 in 69 and was trying to duplicate their hairdos. So, I was probably awake also. Trying to sleep with curlers digging into my head!
time well spent.

Was that around the time William Shatner kissed Nichell Nichols on Star Trek? Star Trek was also on NBC.
She was one of favorite on laugh in.
You are not alone in that!
Curt Russel ……….You lucky man……….
That would be"KURT," not Curt...

Goldie and the late Suzanne Somers were masters when it came to porttraying "ditzy blonde" characters.
Incredible talent, I've loved you since I first saw you and tried with no success to emulate you
I'm assuming she's flaunting her Oscar she won for her role in "Cactus Flower" in 1970... 😊

GOLDIE HAWN,The ditzyist snowbunny of the sixties and early seventies❤❤.
Fun fact: this show was edited by cutting the tape
The whole family used to sit in front of the old Curtis Mathis and watch laugh in on monday night at 800 pm. ....
Wow I get to celebrate this twice. When it aired originally....and NOW.....isn't life grand.
Happy to be part of two celebrations!

Je confirme, Goldie bourrée de talent. Elle chante bien mais, je préfère sa voix française, plus grave 👍👍
🤣🤣😍
I was only ten when this show aired. But even then, I knew there was something special about those painted bikini bodies.
Она Как витамин :)
That’s a really inaccurate description of cricket too! 🤔😂

"rook arive" (look alive) playing an asian lady.

I never noticed it before, but looking at those two standing next to each other Carol Channing was a man
😁

Barbara Eden should of been on this show 🤩.
