I'm enjoying having a looper at my feet again. I find myself in these hour long jams during filming these video.
After seeing Saving Grace with Robert Plant & Suzi Dian at Liverpool Philharmonic I figured I'd shine some light on another one of my favourite guitar riffs from Planty's solo career: 29 Palms.
Enough chitter chatter, let's learn this majestic Robert Plant guitar riff!

Love it Sped. Fate of Nations is by far my favorite Robert Plant album and it is full of great tunes like 29 Palms and I Believe. I would love to see you do full transcriptions of both tunes. Rumor has it that Canadian singer Alannah Myles was the woman talked about in 29 Palms. ''When I hear your voice on the radio'' would make perfect sense if it was the case.
And, as always, superb playing.
Alannah is truly amazing. When I was younger, I had the chorus melody from "Black Velvet" stuck in my head for years. I didn't know who she was, and I'm not a great singer, so I couldn't perform it well enough for anyone to recognise and help me. Plus, I'm terrible with lyrics. It wasn't until I was on holiday in Greece with Gab, walking past a cocktail bar where a local DJ was playing it, that I finally dashed over to ask for the track name. That moment has stayed with me-it's one of my all-time favorite songs.
@@SpedSpedding Amazing. There is something that stands out in black Velvet, a song like no other song. The voice, the mood, the catchy chorus etc.
Oh and I know the feeling of chasing a song for years. My song was Tired of Toeing the Line. At some point I thought it might have been an ELO song. I think a RUclips search containing ''rockabilly', did the job.
