@SCOTT MILLER Also, when Opie started in Radio they mostly just played music ..not much talking...When he and Anthony got together after awhile they quit playing music and basically turned it into a radio podcast which is why it's so great

When he was being a dick, saying shitty things, or breaking people's shit, I think he was trying too hard to find his trademark or his niche. He DID have one. He kept the show on the right track, he was definitely the technical guy. He never wanted to embrace that, and that's why he is looked at the way he is today. i just got through the 2008 and 2009 playlist, if i had a buck for everytime opie said "oh man i can't wait to get ant riled up, this election is gonna be good radio!" i'd have probably like 437 dollars. opie thrived off that shit. instead of moving on, there was an episode, for example, where opie read letters from elementary school kids writing letters to obama for an hour. he knew it was good radio and then blamed anthony for it being good radio.

I gotta be honest, I enjoyed Ant & Patrice going back and forth on it, but Ant talking about Obama was just angry, unentertaining radio. Zero humor in his rants. The song he mentioned was mixed later and was somewhat funny, but overall, no Ant, it wasn't great stuff.
I have to disagree since I did find it entertaining and it was certainly just more interesting than 95% of what was on the radio at the time. If you remember, Ant was also completely correct about Obama.

Did you hear the segment after Robert Plant was in the building? They fought over the methods taken to have pictures taken with R.Plant. Opie was unbelievably douchey & passive aggressive, he's a grown man, but kept blaming Jimmy for NOT asking R.Plant to take a picture with Opie too, yet Opie was standing right beside him the entire time.
Most would find it unbearable to listen to, but I think it's fascinating, cause it exposes Opie's weak character & inability to take responsibility for his scumbag behavior. Give it a listen, someone just uploaded it yesterday I think
