I have always decorated with traditional colours with a nostalgic vibe. I cannot imagine Christmas without red, no matter how cute neutral styles can be! For me the house has to be cozy, warm, inviting and not "staged". Home alone is a must and I watch it every year!🎄
My vibe never really changes as I live in a 124 year old home and have a very vintage cottage style. Therefore that’s the style of my Christmas decor.., olde world with lots of greenery mixed with collected antiques, dried orange garlands and pomegranates and my favorite pomanders wrapped in ribbon down the dining table. I must say, I’m happy that you are going in your own direction as everyone seems to be using the same velvet ornaments in the same colors…….
I go for the red/green/white vibe every year and I build on it. I also mix and match gold and silver. I mix in the nativity/snowmen/woodland/snowy all together. It sounds chaotic but it actually works really well. It's just what I am draw to!
Hi Brenda! I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas! I love the old vintage Christmas decor, cards, etc. It's nostalgic and comforting. I have a flocked tree so usually do whites, silver, and mostly red ornaments in velvet. I don't do a lot of a variety of ornaments but I do a variety of picks like berries, balls, etc. When my kiddo was growing up we bought ornaments every year and put them on the tree. Pics of her each year, and I had a traditional green tree with colored lights as she loved the colored lights! The tree has changed but there's a collection of Santas which I started with ones from Jim Shore and have added others. That type of decor has remained the same. You are going to continue to build a lot of traditions with your kiddos with Christmas and that is so fun! I always feel traditional decor like in Home Alone or any Christmas movie is just the best. Growing up I remember my mother wanted one of those silver aluminum trees in the early 60's. My father put it up, Neither he or I were a fan and that was the only year I think we used it! It went in our den in the basement the next year! LOL
Hello Brenda, I’m decorating a very traditional Christmas as well I miss the reds, greens etc I can’t wait to see your Christmas video so exciting. Mary❤
Thank you for showing us your decor. The last few years I’ve done everything very neutral but I really liked the idea of adding in some of that deep burgundy red, that adds such a cozy feeling!
Hi Brenda, your one of the main girls that got me to loving neutral decor. First of all bring on the Christmas, I’m so ready! I’ve never really done traditional colors though! I always just had my kids there own traditional tree but I’ve always done kind of monochromatic with either silver or gold mixed in with a certain color until a few years back. I’m really getting into the moody colors mixed with neutrals now though. This year I’m doing several trees. I’ll tell you about 2 of them. 1 will be velvet burgundy skinny bows and the ornaments will be neutrals, gold, and burgundy. The other will be plaid fall colored ribbon, mixed with the big moss green velvet ribbon and accented with a 1 inch copper glitter ribbon. For the ornaments I’m only doing a touch of the light gold ones, the rest will be bronze, copper, dark green velvet and a box of the mixed green ones from HL (the darker green, sage green, and like a kind lime green with different textures). I can’t wait!
I'm excited for Christmas! Im between decorating traditional or Vintage Or old Fashion. Last year I did Candy Cane and classic. The Red just makes me happy 😊
I’m continuing what I always do & not….buying anything new. I always do mostly NEUTRAL, with sprinkles of Burgundy & Green colors!!! Thank you for sharing your FUN… items!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
I'm going to continue to use my flocked, berries, pine cone Christmas tree I bought at Walmart 4 or 5 years ago. I would love to get the 4 ft. My Texas Tree from Walmart for my bedroom. I can hardly wait to see how you decorate.
I've been watching everyone's Christmas shop with me and hauls and was looking forward to your post!! 🤗🤗 last year I decided to make our Christmas more classic too and can't wait to decorate again this year it was the warmest, most festive Christmas ❤🌲
Hi Brenda 👋 I love the old fashioned style of Xmas 🎁 thanks so excited to see ur home decorating style this year I'm sure it's gonna be beautiful ❤️ like u always Laura ❣️
This was so fun! Christmas red & green is so great when you have kids, they’ll have great warm & cozy memories of it when they’re older. Can’t wait for your Xmas decorating!!Have you tried placing your tree a little more in the corner so it bridges both windows a bit?
Hello Brenda, yay grandma core❤ I’m probably old enough to be a grandma but I’m not BUT I fully embrace it!❤️ even have 2 cats and gallery walls😂 I’m excited to see how you incorporate it!
"I wanna be like a grandma, you know?" Haha, that right there is why we love you. Anyway, I'm the one who yelled out your name at Target today. It was so nice meeting you. You were so sweet to chat with me and even take a pic together. I love the direction you're going this year, especially with the red for Christmas. Gonna bust out some of my old red ornaments from Christmases past now and add in my 🍬 candy cane striped bolster pillow that I just got from Target. Keep doing what you do. Love your content! And thanks for being you! Maybe run into you in town again. Take care! ❤
One year I decorated with blacks, creams, dark green, gold and wooden accents. My husband complained and mentioned that he would prefer some red to be thrown in. Since then, I have gone for more traditional, nostalgic vibes with wine red, dark green and champagne gold. 😊
❤ The idea of you using red and traditional colors sounds great! I am one who has had a harder time with the darker and neutral flocked ornaments on a 🌲 tree. Your new red ornaments will pop and be magical.
I literally bought these red ornaments of velvet ones and the shiny ones at at home took them back because I wasn’t sure if I wanted read and I’m instantly regretting it. I was really into and for some reason I just wanted to add red this year so now I’m on the hunt late in the game.
Oh my goodness, I was going for traditional christmas too I never did it before. And we have the same exact colors. Red and Champagne color, but I'm not using green. I don't know my third color yet❤
Are you going to mix your reds ...l mean dark red and tomatoe red or you will stick to the same type of red I ... same for the green because I am thinking of doing red and green but struggling to find the right shade of green ..do you think that mixing the shades of Color will still look good ? Love your videos...
OMG! I love this! I am a neutral girl but wanted to try traditional color since I have a 1 year old and a 4 year old. Although the red is a lot for me, I think I'm going to push through just for them. ❤
2 things. Please make sure whoever sleeps on that bed is NOT allergic to wool. I am, I have trouble even walking in stores that have wool sweaters this time of year. My throat starts to swell. So please beware. 2nd in some states, different sex siblings are not allowed to share a room. In my state they are not. My neighbor was doing it, ages 8 ( boy) 5 ( girl) . The girl inadvertently told her teacher in conversation and the teacher turned them into CY here.
Omg I completely looked past that!! My oldest cat loves to eat slim ribbons or strings so he’d definitely go for the tinsel. Thank you for the reminder!
Sounds like a beautiful plan. I do very traditional red and green in our living room, burgundy and green in our family room, green and gold in our dining room and neutral in our master bedroom. I'm so excited for it, it's a wonderful time of year! Have fun planning and decorating! ♥️🎄

No tinsel around cats!
Just an FYI.
Omg I completely looked past that!! My oldest cat loves to eat slim ribbons or strings so he’d definitely go for the tinsel. Thank you for the reminder!
Hi lovely can the music be even more quiet next time. Personally it was really hard to focus on you talking with someone singing in the background.❤
Sounds like a beautiful plan. I do very traditional red and green in our living room, burgundy and green in our family room, green and gold in our dining room and neutral in our master bedroom. I'm so excited for it, it's a wonderful time of year! Have fun planning and decorating! ♥️🎄
