Regarding the lamp, you can get a replacement knob from the hardware store for very little money (or look for a different cheap or broken lamp to scavenge the knob from.)
The green glass bowl looked like uranium glass (glows under black light) and is highly collectible- probably why she grabbed it so fast. Thanks for the video, some nice items
Loved your haul! I can't wait to see how you style everything. The boys were adorable...as always. I'm sure the picture in their santa hats will be precious. I believe your idea for turning off your lamp is called Yankee ingenuity. I love it. Blessings and prayers...
The shade is perfect for the lamp. Glad your husband was able to get a replacement switch! The Goodwill bins im my area in FL are full off just junk, rarely anything good, stopped going. You're so lucky you can get good things! That horn was adorable.
The lamp is really nice. Another option would be to put it on a timer, then you don’t need to turn it on or off. I have rechargeable light bulbs but they do not last very long between charges.
Yes they are great for decorating with and also storage! Wish I’d have been there!😂 Would have gotten the uranium glass too😂 Your lamp is pretty, so is the candle stick and the horn.
Hi. Churchills is a biscuit and jelly sweet making company in the UK. The Carousel tin is a popular one during the festive season. The tins are collectible. Churchills is a family business and the designs on the tin are drawn first then it takes time to be embossed on. QVC UK sells the biscuits.x
I once bought a lamp from Goodwill that was missing the same part. I went back and told them what happened and asked them if they had a lamp they could remove that piece off and they did! It just screws on. Super simple. Worth a try! 😊
For your lamp situation, you could use remote controlled outlets or smart bulbs. You simply plug the remote controlled outlet in the wall and then the lamp into it and it can be turned on and off from your phone or a Bluetooth switch very easily.
There are a couple of fixes for your lamp.... you can buy replacement knobs for to make it safer and easier to use OR you can but extension cords that have on/off switches so you can keep the bulb screwed in. Also, you can buy replacement finials as well. I think the shade is the perfect size for the lamp. If you like it, just go with it. You're the one who's living with it.
Hi Emily, you could frost those glasses you’re going to use for candles I think they would look nicer with candles inside, I buy the frost spray in hobby lobby and even at Walmart they come in white frost or even a sea blue, just a suggestion🤷🏼♀️ love all you purchased and I mostly loved the frames and the horn so nice to decorate for Christmas😊👍🏻🙏🏻
Does the finial fit on the twist on/off screw? I feel like that piece would be a universal fit item across lamps and if the finial doesn’t fit another lamp’s turn screw would fit.
thank you for posting this because i really needed it haha. I went on 3 big trips this year but i only posted the 1st parts of my vlogs but never finished posting the rest of my adventures. i will be doing it this december and upload them by the end of the year for sure!
Hi Emily! Hope you & your family had a blessed Thanksgiving n🦃 We're planning to go up to NC for about 10 days & spend Christmas with my MIL. We haven't spent the holidays back home in 6yrs. We had that recovery home & we couldn't leave, that's the worse time of year to leave young men ion going thru recovery so...Santa will be coming a couple days early & we'll be leaving on the 22nd or 23rd & staying thru new years! The plan is also to bring my MIL back for a couple wks. Just pray everything works out!🙏🏻 I've already packed some of the more winter pieces.😉 I love the brass French horns, i have several smaller ones! I have mine a couple of the small ones out year round, on a peg rack & in a basket. I always pick up brass pieces. That one piece is called a "spitoon" which would have been used to spit tobacco or snuff in. But the ones you actually see are mostly used for greenery or something like that. I have one that she size & it has greenery in it. I also have a couple of the electric candle lamps & several of the battery ones. I have little shades on the electric ones. The battery ones have been packed up since i got them so I haven't used them yet. Yes you should have grabbed the clear green bowl.. pretty sure that was depression glass! Very collectable! I love to use eucalyptus greenery, the garland was really nice! I would most likely use it year round on a cabinet top or a higher area. I have one of the pedestal planters that's a bit larger, always planted begonias in it. Painting gingerbread houses is super popular this year! I love picking up old vintage tins, especially Christmas ones! The were A quite few cute ones there! Being they don't weigh much, i would have grabbed a i could find!😄 They can be expensive in antique stores! I found one that was 60+yrs old, same one my mama used to keep in her sewing drawer & i paid a little for it but i try to pick up things my mama & grandma had during my childhood. Oh goodness I saw lots of Victorian art i would have grabbed..i just need to get over there & go one day! I always leave the patina on all my brass & silver pieces! I like the easel, you can use that for art, book, or even a wreath! I love thinking of more than one use for a item it using it for that things that what it is made for sometimes. I used am embroidery hoop go a picture frame, glued a song from a hymnal to the back & used old lace & around it & a ribbon on top. The shade works, but it would be really beautiful to do the strips of fabric & conver it! Maybe in A pretty toile pattern, seen that fabric used several times, always beautiful! If the metal screw piece is still there you can buy the knob that screw's on to turn it on & off. If not, you could also just plug & unplug the lamp.. or use battery bulbs! I collect lamps, so i do love the lamp!😁 I enjoyed & appreciate you sharing! I'm def going to make my husband bring me & get my DIL to go with me, but i desperately want to come to the bins!!🤞🏼 Hope you have a blessed weekend!🙏🏻
Those sound like lovely Christmas plans! And I love your idea of using the stand for art or a wreath. Hadn't thought of that! Hope you can make it soon!! God bless!
Emily, I’ve been finding brass candlestick holders at my local online auctions, and other unusual brass items. It is such fun to collect them, and then to style them in my decor! Love that horn!!! I love making candles…Hope you share that with us! The lamp and shade are perfect! You can replace the bulb part of the lamp…we’ve done that. Or go to a hardware store and see if they have the little knobs. We don’t have Goodwill Bins near me in WV, so I’m envious! I don’t donate to Goodwill either, just to my local thrift stores. You sound like you have a cold…Hope you’re feeling ok. Cindi (from WV) 😊
Hi Cindi! Your brass collection sounds impressive!! Dominick found a knob replacement today and it works like a charm 😅 I wish there were more bins locations!
I think Lowes Home Improvement sells Lamp parts. You might be able to find a switch there that screws on that piece for your lamp. I would think the bulb would be too hot to unscrew. But. Outdoor be wrong on both of those thoughts.
At Lows you can buy the part to replace the broke insert the light bulb. Also I have never heard of the lampshade measure from bottom of lamp to top. Great hack (if that’s a hack) Keep the video coming!!! Great job lil Momma!!
You could put a remote control bulb in the lamp. They have them at Amazon and they work really well for spaces where you want to put the lamp but there may not be an outlet. I'm using one in my granddaughter's room with a sconce that does not need to be wired into the wall. I do love the lamp and the horn.
We traveled for Thanksgiving and the next day we had a girl’s day with thrifting and lunch. I only have so much weight and room in my suitcase, so I concentrated on small Christmas items. Got a few things a few days before also at an antique store. No plans for Christmas, but I’ve been in the Christmas decorating mood for over a month. I want to expand my normal decor in my house and already did some upstairs, where I barely do any. Can’t wait to get home and get more going.
Wow that's a great deal. I like the lamp, but not sure about the bulb idea. I think it will be hot when you turn it off. I'm not sure what I'm doing for Christmas, probably go to my daughter's house since she had a baby recently and probably go to my moms house too. No plans yet.
Wow, wish we had goodwill bins close to us, the regular store is getting too pricey! You can buy one of those remote puck lights to go inside the lamp.
Your lamp solution works but you could also rewire it with a kit from amazon (or even from Ollies if you have those in FL) for a few dollars. It's super duper simple to do.
I think it is great that you shop the bins. It’s okay to use the lamp that way. It may not be to expensive to replace the on/off switch. I have made a lot of things work in my life.
If it doesn't burn your fingers, then why not turn off the lamp that way, you might be able to wrap a bandaid around the little turn on/off switch. The lamp and shade are beautiful! All of that for $10, Amazing!
For the light issue. I'm an alexa girlie, so I'd use a light bulb that interacts with her and just turn it on and off with my voice. Or get a bulb from someplace like 5 below that has an app that you can download. You can turn it on and off that way.
I was at a thrift store browsing and I found a brass 3 French horn candle holder in the Christmas department because it had a red plaid ribbon on it. I grabbed it for $3. I can use it year round now that the ribbon is gone. I have no bins near me even though I live right outside of Philly.
Hi Emily! Nice haul. Lovevthe lamp and that shade looks great BUT I DO SIDE WITH DOMINICK ON HOW TO TURN ON AND OFF. THE BULB WOULD REALLY BE TOO HOT TO TOUCH. SORRY Emily.
I am a fairly new subscriber. I have a theater background and I think you could use a little work on diction. I practice using tongue twisters and listening to myself recording. I love your channel but sometimes don't understand what you're saying if I am listening while doing something else.
Hi Emily, I am catching up after being away for the Thanksgiving holiday. I wish we had the GW bins, even though I need nothing😂. That baby has grown so much..love seeing your boys in videos. I too, loved the star. I am glad you got it for him. I hope your Thanksgiving was great. We got to see family that we don’t see often. My niece’s husband cleaned up the kitchen every night which was so sweet. Take care ❤❤❤
@ well I have bad ears but it’s muffled to me. Could be my tv too. But when I played the video on my phone and had the sound go directly to my ears the sound is ok.

My husband got one today from your recommendations works like a charm 😅
I loved the things you got and the price. The one thing I love seeing is you carrying your precious little one next to you. It is just so adorable.
Isn't he the best 🥰
When i find an adorable tin for Christmas, i pack my christmas ornaments away in them 😊
That's a great idea! 😍
The lamp and shade look perfect together. I definitely would have picked that up! Great finds!
The green glass bowl looked like uranium glass (glows under black light) and is highly collectible- probably why she grabbed it so fast. Thanks for the video, some nice items
Oh cool!
Loved your haul! I can't wait to see how you style everything. The boys were adorable...as always. I'm sure the picture in their santa hats will be precious. I believe your idea for turning off your lamp is called Yankee ingenuity. I love it. Blessings and prayers...
Hahaha I love this answer 👏🏻👏🏻 I should have mentioned too it doesn't get hot, so it's a win 🤣
I love the horn and the lamp! Great haul!
Wow great haul for $11!
Thanks Courtney!! I love how both them turned out styled for Christmas ❤
The shade is perfect for the lamp. Glad your husband was able to get a replacement switch! The Goodwill bins im my area in FL are full off just junk, rarely anything good, stopped going. You're so lucky you can get good things! That horn was adorable.
It is such a hit or miss with the bins! I would be so sad if mine never had any treasures
Always look forward to your videos ❤️
Yay! Thank you!
I loved it all!! Those tins are so precious and I love the little gold frame and the sweet water color! ❤️🎄💚
Thanks so much! 😊
The lamp is really nice. Another option would be to put it on a timer, then you don’t need to turn it on or off. I have rechargeable light bulbs but they do not last very long between charges.
The timer is a good idea!
I came here to say, put it on a timer. I like it. It’s also easy to just replace the lamp part. They sell the kits at big box stores.
I was going for unplugging ot after use. But a timer is better.
How about just running in a Home Depot and buying the little knob that screws right on where the knob is missing?
Love the great finds at the Goodwill ❤! I used to go pretty often and I miss it .
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hope you get to go again soon
Amazing finally some truth about promoting I agree so very much you are so right
Glad you appreciated it!
You can buy a new knob for the lamp at any hardware store. Super cheap. Dont unscrew the lightbulb because its still draining power.
That crate was beautiful. They are nice to use to put a large plant in or even a smaller Xmas tree.
Oh that's a great idea!!
And Legos
Yes they are great for decorating with and also storage! Wish I’d have been there!😂 Would have gotten the uranium glass too😂
Your lamp is pretty, so is the candle stick and the horn.
Love the lamp .......I think unscrewing the lamp is clever!!!!
Haha I thought so!

Oh, I so love to learn it! Thank you I love them even more ❤️
Good deal on the lamp. You can buy a new twist knob for it at a hardware store or Lowes. They are very inexpensive.
I once bought a lamp from Goodwill that was missing the same part. I went back and told them what happened and asked them if they had a lamp they could remove that piece off and they did! It just screws on. Super simple. Worth a try! 😊
That's a great idea!! Honestly I think I'll do that!
You can buy that missing part at a hardware store
Emily they sell the little plastic screw knobs for replacement. Really cheap for several in a bag. Great video. Thank you for sharing sweetie ❤
Good to know!!! Thank you ❤️
Can’t wait to see what you put in the small frames!
I think your light bulb idea is genius!
Haha ingenuity 😉
Love your ideas!! Have a blessed Christmas🎄
Thank you!! Merry Christmas 🎄
Bargain have been had love the hats and the quality is always better I find .
Nice haul !! I'm excited to see your makeovers. 🧑🎄🤶🎅
Thank you!!!

You can find replacement parts for lamps............I don't know if you need a new turn style knob or something else, but not expensive at all.
Dominick found one today at ace and it works like a charm!! Thanks for the rec
Yes, it's ok!!!!
Thanks 🤣
Hi Emily, you could frost those glasses you’re going to use for candles I think they would look nicer with candles inside, I buy the frost spray in hobby lobby and even at Walmart they come in white frost or even a sea blue, just a suggestion🤷🏼♀️ love all you purchased and I mostly loved the frames and the horn so nice to decorate for Christmas😊👍🏻🙏🏻
Oh I had not thought of frosting them! Thanks! I'm working on those DIY's today actually haha coming soon 💕
You can take one of the lamp switch knob off another lamp or you can buy replacement ones. I’ve done both before.
Love watching your videos your a breath of fresh air
Aw thank you
Does the finial fit on the twist on/off screw? I feel like that piece would be a universal fit item across lamps and if the finial doesn’t fit another lamp’s turn screw would fit.
It's too big! But Dominick found one at the hardware store today. Didn't know they sold those until I heard it here haha
Woohoo, I knew there had to be an easy-ish fix. Glad you found one!
Changing the "innards" of a lamp is pretty easy! Tell Dominic since he is dissatisfied with it he can change it out for you. LOL
Haha right?? He bought a replacement knob per some recs on here and replaced it no problem!
thank you for posting this because i really needed it haha. I went on 3 big trips this year but i only posted the 1st parts of my vlogs but never finished posting the rest of my adventures. i will be doing it this december and upload them by the end of the year for sure!
It will be so worth it! Travel vlogs are the best to look back on ❤️
I spy the red rolling suitcase we bought in Spain :) Glad you get to replace it ;) New one looks AWESOME
Hahah it was time 😅🤣
Emily, love your style! Get a smart bulb for your lamp. Works thru wi-fi.
I have one!! Good idea thanks

Others have mentioned the replacement part too! I don't know that existed. But makes sense. I'll look for one! Doesn't get hot thankfully haha
I would unplug it from the wall instead of turning the lightbulb
Haha I would if I didn't have a heavy baby in my arms half the time
At Lows you can buy the part to replace the broke insert the light bulb.
Also I have never heard of the lampshade measure from bottom of lamp to top.
Great hack (if that’s a hack)
Keep the video coming!!!
Great job lil Momma!!
Oh good to know!! I will pick one up soon. Thanks! And it's a good little trick ☺️
That reminds me of Southern Living at Home French Provencial cookbook holder.
Lovely!!
You could put a remote control bulb in the lamp. They have them at Amazon and they work really well for spaces where you want to put the lamp but there may not be an outlet. That sounds like the best Black Friday shopping to me!!
You can get a replacement knob for the lamp at a hardware store for sure, maybe even walmart or hobby lobby, lowes... in the Lighting section.
With the paper towel holder, you could attach it sideways inside a cupboard or something like that
Oh true!!
Wow that's a great deal. I like the lamp, but not sure about the bulb idea. I think it will be hot when you turn it off. I'm not sure what I'm doing for Christmas, probably go to my daughter's house since she had a baby recently and probably go to my moms house too. No plans yet.
I have Santa hats and put them on my neighbors mailbox posts looks really cute when you get lots of people doing it
Oh how cute!
You can buy lamp parts a knob or the wheel turn off on the cord, finials etc otherwise great finds
Thanks!! I'm going to find one!
I think if it doesn’t bother you to unscrew the bulb then it is fine. If it bothers hubby just try fixing or get the remote controlled bulb.
I like that type of paper towel holder for hair scrunchies
For the lamp just leave it on and unplug it to "turn it off"
Oh that's a great idea with the scrunchies!!
You can buy the switch to turn on the lamp at home depot.
Awe darn you left that concrete planter, a bottle brush tree would
Have looked amazing in it or a
Topiary 😊
It would have 😭😭😭
Wow, wish we had goodwill bins close to us, the regular store is getting too pricey! You can buy one of those remote puck lights to go inside the lamp.
Your lamp solution works but you could also rewire it with a kit from amazon (or even from Ollies if you have those in FL) for a few dollars. It's super duper simple to do.
I like the lamp and I think you can repair it…but if not I’m with the hubs on this one 😂
Rewiring kits for the lamp are pretty inexpensive at Lowes, and not difficult to change out. Great haul.
I think it is great that you shop the bins. It’s okay to use the lamp that way. It may not be to expensive to replace the on/off switch. I have made a lot of things work in my life.

Right? Haha it works for now and that's why I love the bins so much!! 😍
I would get a replacement knob on your next thrift trip to the bins since you said the lamps are like a dollar
Nice haul Emilie! The crystal candleholder is actually a bobeche(Bo ba Shay)It fits in a candlestick and is meant to catch wax drippings from tapers.
You taught me something new!! That is so smart. It's such a pain when they drip 🤯
I’m going to N. CA to spend Christmas with my Son and G’children❤️
Yay!! Enjoy!
For the light issue. I'm an alexa girlie, so I'd use a light bulb that interacts with her and just turn it on and off with my voice. Or get a bulb from someplace like 5 below that has an app that you can download. You can turn it on and off that way.
Regarding the lamp: You can maybe find the piece you need off another throw away lamp or plug it into a plug connected with a wall switch.
Honestly what I'll probably try to do next time I'm at the Bins!! Haha thank you
You could always get one of those remote bulbs for the lamp!
My boys and their families are coming to my house for Christmas. Snowy Vt.
Will be a fun white Christmas!!
Hubby can replace socket for you
I was at a thrift store browsing and I found a brass 3 French horn candle holder in the Christmas department because it had a red plaid ribbon on it. I grabbed it for $3. I can use it year round now that the ribbon is gone. I have no bins near me even though I live right outside of Philly.
Oh lovely!! I wish there were more of them 😍
You could just unplug and plug in light? Or put it on s light switch?
Hi Emily!
Nice haul. Lovevthe lamp and that shade looks great BUT I DO SIDE WITH DOMINICK ON HOW TO TURN ON AND OFF. THE BULB WOULD REALLY BE TOO HOT TO TOUCH. SORRY
Emily.
Hahah looks like he's winning this one
😊
Amazon has light bulbs that use a remote that might work for the lamp
Dominick fixed the knob for me 🙌🏻
Light bulb will get hot😂. I would try a battery operated bulb.
Haha it doesn't get hot! But Dominick bought a replacement knob at the hardware store today off the recommendation from comments on here 😅
They sell the little piece to replace it
I'm going to get one 😅
😍😍😍
Thanks Ashely 🤗
Or just unplug the lamp when you're wanting it off 😂 ... no burned fingers!
Haha I would but my holding a chunky baby half the time complicating bending down
Just get a new socket for the top You could burn yourself bulbs get hot not a good idea
I didn't know they sold those haha but thankfully it isn't one that gets hot
I had the M&M tin in the 1980’s
Oh so cool!
Could you just unplug it? I do that to one of my lamps lol
The bulb will be hard to turn off because it will be hot!
Just unplug the lamp from wall to shut off lamp
Also would work! Just not as easy when holding baby haha
❤❤❤❤❤
🤗
Working
💞
🤗
Find a cheap ugly lamp that has a knob and just remove it and put on this one. You could unplug each time as well
I think I'll look for one next time I'm at the bins! Haha
Can’t you just turn the Lamp off and on at the switch on the wall?
Get a smart bulb that you can control with Alexa!
The music was too loud. Couldn’t hear anything you were saying. FYI.
Sorry! I messed up the volume settings today
Do you have a sister that also does thrifting videos?
Hahah well now I will have to check to make sure my sister didn't finally start one secretly lol I've been trying to convince her to start one!!
this was your most adorable and fun lil clip for a sponsorship to date 🥹
Haha thanks!! Was grateful they were cool with me being a little goofy 🤣🥰

It's so easy to get things I don't reeeeally need there haha but such a steal! Your thanksgiving sounds lovely!
Turn off the light at the plug.
Beautifull baby ❤
Thank you 🤗
That music made it hard to hear you
Good to know! During the clips at the bins?
@@EmilyGarbemaybe wear a microphone. I have a hard time hearing you on tv but on my phone with ear buds it’s ok 😊

Aren't you scared of your toddler catching bug at the thrift store ? It's basically a germ universe
That’s how you build immunity…not by hiding at home my dear.
Schools are worse should we not go to school either?
Emily, it is not a good thing to play music so loud and you talking at the same time. For me it would have been more enjoyable if just the music was playing as you dug through the bins, or just your sweet voice without the music. Constructive advice sweet girl. Cute kids you have.

For the lamp why don't you just thrift a lamp simply for a replacement twisty thing
Can't hear a word you're saying because of all the background racket
