Unc to answer your question as to why this happens: that violent culture has been glorified for decades. I'm a minority that grew up in Watts and that violence has been glorified in music, in movies, in sports and all entertainment. It almost convinced me bc I was surrounded by it and it baffles me when the white man gets blamed and no one wants to be held accountable. If the people with the platform would stop promoting it and start calling it out and denounce it, things would change. Gangsta rappers are some of the biggest celebreties in today's culture when they should probably be vilified instead. Where's BLM on this topic, not a single word unless a white man pulls the trigger. When a rapper dies you don't see Lebron tweeting and saying "this has to Stop". All I see is a tweet with condolences for the victim but no ones calls out the violent culture SMH . UNC I don't hear you call out your community to stop this trend but you're quick to call out the white man for injustices you see. I say this in love because as minorities we need to hold ourselves accountable for things to really change. Enough is enough!!
