Due to a health scare in 2017, we decided to start enjoying life more outside our business. We bought a Lodge on the east coast of England and started vlogging our daily adventures
Join us as we explore the UK, Florida, Disney and further afield aswell as spending time at the Lodge on our own, with family and with our friends

What I learned after losing my mum, was to be kind to myself. If you feel sad, allow yourself to feel that way and do what you need to do to get through the next minute, hour, day. I honestly think you don’t really ever get over grief, you just learn to walk beside it rather than letting it overtake you. My heart breaks for you because I’ve been there. God bless. 💚💚

Nick, loosing your mum is one of the hardest things in the world. I lost mine three years ago and felt so scared, lost and alone. Just know that we all love you and are hugging you and supporting you. You are not alone. She raised a son she was so proud of and loved and I am sure will be watching. Sorry for your loss love, stay strong as she would want you to be.

Both of you have helped me when I’ve had down days and I’m sure I’m not the only person who watches your videos when I’m in a tough place, just wanted to say thank you and send some support through this tough time👍
I was diagnosed with testicular cancer in early January, and following an operation to remove ‘lefty’ I’m going through 12 weeks of chemotherapy to treat other affected areas.
Thank you so much for sharing Gail’s journey and increasing awareness. Thoughts are with you guys as you go through this period of change. Keep doing what you’re doing, you make us all smile!

I lost my m um suddenly in March 2020. You will never get over the loss but will learn to live with it. It’s coming up to the 3rd Anniversary for my mum and I can now talk about her without crying. Keep thinking about the good times and laughter with Gail
Just lost my mum at the same time whilst we were away in Florida, 13 weeks from diagnosis, hit me like a brick wall & still not quite taken in it, so heres just a little bit of love being sent your way - Love You guys, stay strong ❤

So so sorry for your loss Nick. Losing a parent is hard, focus on yourself for a while. Grieving never ends, we just learn to live with it. Wall art is beautiful and the lights set it off ❤️❤️

Adam the woo recently did a great Goonies filming locations vid all over Astoria Oregon. It was really cute. The town has fully embraced the Goonies connection.

Can’t believe that 1 year has gone past. Thoughts are with both of you especially Nick. Lost my mum 6 years ago, the time goes so fast.

I live in Bridlington and watch all your vlogs. I lost my dad 2yrs ago and my brother 2yrs ago. Lost my mum 6 months ago. I have felt empty ever since. I'm so happy to see you two supporting eachother. Unfortunately I have no one. Your vlogs make me laugh usually. Sorry Nick for your loss. Love, hugs and kisses
Have been waiting for this vlog but didn't realise it was going to affect us as much as it did. You should both be so proud of yourselves for how you have handled this situation. @The Lodge Guys unfortunately as they say, life has to go on but you have got great families, thousands of friends and most importantly, each other. We initially started watching your vlogs because of Florida but we love your normal day to day vlogs and we have started doing more together, even if it's just going out for a coffee and lunch. Grief is such a personal thing. After losing my dad suddenly in 2012 I did things I never thought I’d do straight after losing a parent but it was my way of coping with it all. Whatever you both need to do or not do is totally your own choices. Sending all the love
I’ve just finished your USA road trip videos, first time watching you guys, via TPB, they were excellent by the way. I just want to say how Leigh started this video was so sensitive and respectful, beautifully said. I’m very sorry for your loss, Nick, you’re mum looked good fun. The grief comes in waves and nothing stops it. Just let it and support each other. Sending love.
Learning and understanding the stages of grief really helped when I lost my Dad. I also was went to a grief counselor. It helped SO much!! As cliche as it sounds, time is really the healer of all things. Sending warm thoughts your way as y’all navigate this season of your lives.

Oh my God I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. My heart broke when I heard Leigh say it. My own mum is very unwell in hospital with Alzheimer's so I feel your pain guys.

So sorry for your loss, glad to see you are getting out and about now! Just wanted to say regarding your telescopic ladder, try not to use it when one of the steps is only half extended, each step is only fully locked into place when fully extended, stay safe
Nick, so sorry to hear about your mom. No matter what age or stage of life you are in, your mom is always your mom and it hurts to lose her. I know…I lost my own mom about 8 years ago and I still miss her a lot. Thanks to you and Leigh for your kindness and sensitivity to others. It shows in your work ♥

Grief is just like the tides and pull of the sea. It really never gets better. The depth of love never leaves you though. My advice is let go....let go of all you feel...cry x
Love to you Nick and Leigh and all those who hurt from the loss of Gail. I like many have been though the loss of a parent and it is a monumental shift. Everything felt unreal. As Leigh said, I too felt flat and numb for a year. You will get to the other side of this grief. The loss will be there always but your life will return again. You will be forever changed but you will find life is good again.
So glad you have such a close family during these sad times. Keep each other close ❤️

Hi guys, I’m so sorry for your loss, I loved watching mum, she was such fun. I lost my mum last March, it’s coming up to a year shortly, she also died of cancer. Everyone’s journey is different, life has never been the same, most days are ok but still sometimes it’s really hard. I hope and pray that you and the family find ways to come to terms with it, as much as you can. Lots of love x

Sometimes when your in a slump it's nice to just watch something you know like Last Tango, which I love Sarah Lancashire Nicola Walker Anne Reid are just brilliant actors, and the whole cast is. I've been watching your latest US trip and you did touch on the subject of Nicks mother passing but hadn't gone back as far. So sorry for your loss

We.havent watched tonight's vlog yet as its a little close to our hearts. We fly back next weekend from our home in the canaries for shauns mums funeral. You have to do whatever you can to take your mind off everything, the worst thing you can do is over think everything! I lost my mum 10 years ago and people just won't understand unless it has happened to them. Toughest thing ever!! I've put on a front for the last 10 years and not a day goes by that I don't think about and miss her. She will always be with you Nick x

I have just started watching your back log, and so said. It is so hard to lose someone to cancer. My sister passed away a few years ago after being diagnosed with cancer and fought it for 4 months. My heart goes out to you all.
I understand what Nick is going through and you're right about things getting put off and during this sad time you find out you need your friends some find it hard to talk about your loved one who has passed in my case my husband as they don't want to upset you but I needed to talk yes I cried and still do.
Thank you for letting us into your lives. I lost my husband this year and I know that grief is such a hard thing to navigate. You are lucky to have each other. It is lovely to see how your families love one another.
So sorry for you loss ❤ we found that when my Nana passed last year spending time with family and friends was the best thing to do.

So sorry for your loss! My mother passed away five years ago and my father followed just seven months ago. Even though I have always been religious, death can make you contemplate what is real. Just a couple weeks ago I was deep in thought about it all again and a clear, precious, strong feeling from God spoke to me that it is true that death is not the end and we will see our loved ones again. I believe you will see your mom again.
Couldn't bring myself to watch this until today. This weekend would have been my son's 36 birthday as he passed away at 24. Having lost him, my first husband at a young age, parents etc I completely understand the roller-coaster grief takes us on. It was a sad but beautiful tribute to Gail. Take each moment as it come and be there for each other. My thoughts are with you both & family. 💞

So sad loosing a parent, I lost my mum 2020 and 6mths later my dad - affected me so much I had 6 fit's so now have epilepsy. I feel for you I really do. Try to get back to normal Nick xxx

One thing I learnt when my dad died was to be kind to yourself. Grief is tiring and I remember feeling so exhausted. There were so many different phases of emotion it was often overwhelming. You are in my thoughts. Sending big hugs.xx

Hi guys, grief is just like a roller coaster with its ups and downs, it does get slightly easier as time goes by. I lost my mam in 1986 I was 26 and she was 64 and to this day I can burst into tears when I think of her. You have each other as well as the rest of your combined families, keep yourselves busy and remember you have lots of memories of Gail to recall. Love your new artwork, it's fab. Just watching this video, my heart goes out to you. I lost my Mum seven years ago to cancer and the memories are what get me through. Sending hugs.
P.s. my first time to Disneyland Paris was with my Mum and my two children, pregnant with my thrid in January 1998, every time I go to a park I think of how much she'd love it xxxx
Bless you both. It’s so so hard. I lost my dad a year and a half ago. Some days are easier than others but with your loved ones around you, you find the strength to get through it.
