Thank you for explaining the differences. We’ve drive 200 miles to look a displays and learned more from your video than our trips!
I'm glad this was helpful. Thank you for watching!
Awesome video!
These are very informative and interesting to watch! A tiny suggestion would be to put a post-it or something in each window so the viewer would know which one is "ARCHITECT" and which one is "LIFESTYLE" no matter what point you are in the video.
Great idea!!! Thank you for watching
Great video. Can you do a video on aluminum vs fiberglass widows. I will like to know the advantages and disadvantages of each. Keep the videos coming.
ruclips.net/video/NCvIg1ea0lw/видео.html&feature=share If you live in the Portland, Oregon area let me know and I can meet you at our showroom or do a site visit.
Great video I'm actually looking for a company in Lansing, MI right now.
Thank you for watching.
Great series of videos Jeff. I have never learned as much than I have from you. I visited your store last February and I wish I could use your services. Too bad I am in San Antonio. This video gives me valuable pointers in terms of what to look for between those aluminum clad Pella series. One thing I would still like to know is how would you compare Pella lifestyle and architect series to the Marvin ultimate series?
Thank you for watching and your comment. I'd rank them as follows.
1. Marvin $$$$
2. Pella Architect $$$
3. Pella Lifestyles $$
Thank you! What about other aspects like quality, durability, warranty etc?
i am buying the Lifestyle casement for our new home in Michigan. I am not a fan of the fold away crank handles, do you have an opinion or feedback on how customers like the slider mechanism to open/close the casement ?
The slider is pretty cool. I like that it does not interfere with the window sill space.
Looking at the price tag, this Pella Lifestyle looks comparable to the Andersen 200 series. For remodeling purpose, which one would you recommend? Mine house was built in 1993 with Vinyl windows. I don't think the previous owner replaced them before, so those are nearly 30 years old (though they look well kept).
They're both amazing. You can't go wrong with either one.
@@HoustonWindowExperts That's great. Thank you!
Does Pella make a double-hung window with the built-in blind that you demonstrated in their casement model? That’s a pretty unique feature, indeed.
They do not any longer, it had very low volume and was awkward looking with the 2 blinds and where they would stack. Many people choose to put 1 horizontal grid in the center to give the double hung look while getting the blind feature.
Not that I've seen. Many companies are avoiding them because of failure.
For all black interior and exterior casements with no grids, are there any benefits to going with the Architect Series over the Lifestyle Series?
I can't think of any real benefits in that case.
Kept waiting for you to compare pricing of the two series.
Soon I hope
Jeff, please help. I have Pella designer windows from a la 1996. Bottom wood part of the sash has rotten due to seal breaking between the glass and the aluminum cladding. Will Lifestyle sash be compatible with Designer series window? I want to just order the sash, keep everything else and replace the sash only. Please advise. Hard to get an answer on this. Thank you.
I don't think you will any options other than to get a whole new window. Have you tried calling Pella?
Love these windows but they don't come with screens. We live in the mountains and love to let the cool breeze in. Does Pella make them for these windows or am I out of luck. We can't find any info from Pella. Thanks!
Hi, all of Pella's windows can be made with screens. I'd call the Pella Customer Support.
@@HoustonWindowExperts thanks 👍 it's just disappointing that screens don't some with the windows and the Pella rep neglected to let us know this. Great windows otherwise.
I understand
Hey Jeff - Does all pella 250 series single hung windows have the vent clips?
Yes. It's a standard option.
@@HoustonWindowExperts Where can I get a spec sheet to submit to my HOA? I want to upgrade my windows on the second level...Must be single hung window...
The vendor that you are purchasing these windows from will have something they can give you. It's pretty standard when it comes to the HOA.
Hi Jeff. Really appreciate your educating methods. I need just 2 sliding windows for a condo and wanted to know which Pella line to consider. I live in NY. What are the 3 top tiers? How is impervia vs the Architect line for the NY climate? What should I be expecting as far as price for double to triple-pane argon low e glasses installed for either of these. My measurements are about 69 in wide by 56 inches high and the other is 69in wide by 48 inches high.
Either of those series would work craving your application. It's just a matter of preference for what look you're after. Since they all use the same glass, it's just a question of which frame do you like.
To make sure you're being treated fairly, I would get three quotes from three separate Andersen dealers.
@@HoustonWindowExperts I appreciate your response Jeff. Are you saying that you would prefer one of the Anderson products over the pillow? And if so which Anderson line? I'm trying to figure out which type would be more energy-efficient and weatherproof in my climate between wood-clad and fiberglass
Sorry I meant to say Pella
I'm sorry. I meant to say Pella. (sorry, i was walking through the airport and trying to respond).
@@HoustonWindowExperts no problem. I appreciate you taking time even when busy. I noticed that pella doesn't seem to offer sliding windows in their lifestyle or architect lines unless I'm mistaken. What would be the best sliding window among pella, Andersen, Marvin and Windsor? I need a slider style.
quiet line by milgard better for sound or pella lifestyle series sound control? or milgard ultra line with laminated glass ?for sound im in desperated help thanks
Quiet line for sure
@@HoustonWindowExperts but i want the black frame quietline milgard looks horrible .pella sound windows any good?
Pella sound windows can hit about an STC 38, I believe. Serenity hits a 48
Do you have a link to the complete Pella line?

Grids for pella windows are they're rovable
Some are. I think it's the Lifestyle series.
How do you feel about the lifestyle aluminum clad since the lawsuit settlement?
I sell a lot of it with no issues.
How does Pella Lifestyle compare to Marvin Elevate? We have a mid century home that we're renovating and are looking for thin profile contemporary looking windows. Our contractor likes Pella because of a better dealer / presence in the area. However, Pella seems more traditional overall than Marvin?
Mike, thank you for watching and for your question. The Pella lifestyles window is much more traditional than the Marvin Elevate. I would definitely stick with Marvin if you're looking for a more contemporary look. I would not be too concerned about not having much support for Marvin in your area. Their windows rarely need any help once they are installed.
@@HoustonWindowExperts Thank you for the quick response. What are your thoughts on the aluminum cladding on Pella vs fiberglass on Marvin?
I do like fiberglass but comparing these two would not be fair. The fiberglass is going to come in very limited colors and have a different Sheen and finish on it than what you would get out of an aluminum exterior. Also, the profile is going to be more traditional on an aluminum product than it would be on fiberglass. I guess it depends on what look you're going for as to what product you would select. They both are very durable and offer the same warranty. If you're looking for a great window company near you, check out this website we created to help people find someone near them. JeffsList.com
@@HoustonWindowExperts We're going with white or wood interior with black exterior.
That will be awesome.
Hey Jeff,
Trying to decide between the Pella Lifestyle and Andersen 400, Andersen will cost $1200 more, what would Jeff do?
That's a real toss-up. I'd say they're both comparable. I'd lean towards whomever has the best customer support.
@@HoustonWindowExperts Awesome, thank you for the feedback!
Does Pella make the lifestyle or architect series in a sliding window?
Yes
From Kansas City Missouri have a brick front house what window would you recommend
Thank you for watching. Are you looking for a vinyl windows?
@@HoustonWindowExperts I have a colonial style house and have wood windows now I want them to look thyme Appropriate
There are many great products that can give you the look of wood OR REAL wood with an exterior cladding that will prevent rot and will need little maintenance.
Pella, Andersen, Marvin, and Windsor are great for that.
@@HoustonWindowExperts to confirm what I’ve watched in your videos Pella doesn’t have a certified installers ?
Pella has a franchise store component and then they sell through professional channels. At this time, they do not have a certification process. That does not guarantee your installation experience either way. I've seen certified installers of many brands that didn't know what they were doing, and I've seen excellent installers that were not certified. Always do your homework on the installer.
Achitect is going away. Reserve is the new top tier pella wood product
I just spoke with Pella corporate two days ago and I asked that same question. the official answer was nothing has changed. Thanks for the tip, I will investigate.
What I find out that I'm not too impressed with this Pella window is the outside of that window if you push that flex track you will see the wood that can get water in it very easily.
Also, the bottom part of the flex track is over 1/4” opening that will be the perfect house for the spires.
I hope that they fix those 2 things that I noticed on new windows
Got Pella 350 today 5 windows. Almost every window have a defect. Glue mixed with dust is everywhere. I would not rate them as a Premium class I would say low quality windows for high price. Consumer report lost my trust today.
I am sorry to hear that. It sounds like you got a lemon batch of windows. We rarely see any issues and when we do the manufacturer is willing to correct them. I would reach out to the person who sold you these windows and ask for a resolution.
