Really super clear -the patches in the front wall and side wall is a great way .What I also liked was to anticipate your next move post the opponent ‘ return to serve.

Thank you, helpful vid. Being new I did not understand some of the sport specific terms, but it did help overall.

Really interesting video to watch 👍 - the lob serve can be hit a lot higher and slower than the one you have shown, though by getting under the ball more and using less power - would be nice to show that too (less margin for error though!) 👍

Love these videos. I stumbled upon this channel and have subscribed due to the clear and detailed descriptions. My only issue is information overload. I think I will just focus on one videos content for like a month before practicing the next one.

This rings true with pros who say they construct 3-4 shot sequences in their mind. What they mean is that they have an ‘if-then’ progression of shots already decided upon depending on their opponent’s response.

This was an excellent video. Very helpful for me, who is really struggling with my server and service returns.
Is there a similar video showing the serves, positions and targets from the left service box?

Thanks really helpful, I shall be putting these tips into practice! Would like to know where to hit the power and lob serve when serving from the left side as you only did from the right side?

the lob serve is much more effective if you're serving into your opponent's backhand side, lob serve into the forehand side is a lot riskier and thus used not as often, in both cases it's crucial to get the ball as tight to the side wall as possible, as for the serve down the middle it has 2 variations, 1) quick (you're hoping to catch out your opponent, ideally hitting his body, but the risk is it will bounce off the back-wall back into the middle of the court 2) slow, with loopier trajectory, ideally hitting the back-wall nick or the ball just dying in the back if not volleyed), the execution is the same on both sides with a bit more risk if serving into your opponent's forehand. You don't want to use the 'down the middle' too often, it's ment to be a somewhat suprising variation, but it can work well, especially if it's preceded by a hard, physical rally and your opponent is tired and less focused.

1st class...Excellent again but did not mention about the power serve that hits low into the floor of side wall...been caught many times at its pace and low on the floor. Not sure how to execute it nor how to handle this powerful serve.tks

Hi John, thanks again! That power serve I do not use much myself, only when I see my opponent is out of position. So for returning this serve, maybe first check if you have positioned yourself 'correctly' (corner of the service box) to volley this serve before it hits the side wall. To hit it yourself, I would slightly hit it overhead and roughly around the middle of the front wall just above the service line (quite risky). Hope this helps!

Hi, Can you please translate your Dutch video on return of serve on backhand side into English? The Dutch video appears to be better than your English one.
