  • This presentation will describe the four waves of opioid-related overdose, some aspects of which are driven by supply, and then dive into the current and possible future fentanyl use patterns and consequences.

    Dr. Dan Ciccarone is the Justine Miner Professor in Addiction Medicine, in the department of Family and Community Medicine, at UCSF. He has been principal or co-investigator on numerous NIH sponsored public health research projects including his current Synthetics in Combination (SYNC) study. He is a recognized international scholar on the medical, public health and public policy dimensions of substance use, risk and consequences. He consults for numerous private and public entities including the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

    This really no help if you got someone on fentanyl trying to help them and they don’t have any insurance plan?? Because a lot of people on fentanyl are younger and their functional and by them being younger, they can hide it and when they get to that zombie like stage, they’re at home?? Hospitals kick them out there’s really no help I’ve tried and it’s my wife. I’m watching her deteriorate. 😢

    This really no help if you got someone on Fitness trying to help him and they don’t have any insurance plan?? Because a lot of people on fentanyl is functional which meaning they they work they go home and they party on a weekend or they don’t go to work? That’s what I’m dealing with a functional attic.
