Can you please make the Sidecar by Output?
Hey that’s a great idea! I don’t really have much use for the Sidecar itself, but I might be able to repurpose it.
@@luisangelmedia4459 yes that would be amazing! Thank you
where and what hardware did you use for the rear cable management shelf. Having trouble finding the spacers for the screw to go through on my desk build.
The hardware is actually a half inch square tubing. I purchase this in 20ft lengths for making metal fences and gates. I cut the tubing to the size of the longest screws I had laying around, about 4 inches. The screws were about 4-1/2 inches, so I cut the tube smaller to let the screw grab on to the top. I got the square tubing from a metal supply store.
Once again GREAT JOB! Luis you were a Big help in me completing my Studio Desk
DJL609 glad I could help!
@@luisangelmedia4459 One more question buddy where can I purchase the screws with the sleeves. I searched high and low and just can't find them in this area I must be asking for the wrong thing
DJL609 so the “sleeves” are actually a half inch square tubing. I purchase this in 20ft lengths for making metal fences and gates. I cut the tubing to the size of the longest screws I had laying around, about 4 inches. The screws were about 4-1/2 inches, so I cut the tube smaller to let the screw grab on to the top. Maybe you can use round wooden sticks and drill them out with a drill it. I got the square tubing from a metal supply store in Glendale, AZ.
@@luisangelmedia4459 thank You Luis
🙏
Thank you
Thank you for this demonstration Luis. It looks like you attached the keyboard wings directly to the sides, rather than using the 4 brackets that Output uses. Your method seems simpler and potentially more solid.
Yes, I've seen people attach a keyboard tray using brackets from desk top and I didn't know Output used this method as well. I definitely agree that installing the keyboard sliding hardware directly to the sides of the desk provide a better and sturdier tray. There is no room for it to wobble to. Also keep in mind that I cloned this desk from Output. I did not buy it from them. I have another video showing how I built it if you'd like to see it.
@@luisangelmedia4459 Today, I watched your video for the 3rd time. Tomorrow, I buy plywood. Thanks for the inspiration.
@@MatthJenks I wish you good luck. Remember to measure twice so you only have to cut once. Let me know how it turns out!
@@luisangelmedia4459 Thank you friend. I will let you know how it works out!
Hey Luis! Do you happen to have the pattern to cut out of the plywood?
Corey Stopperan not exactly sure what the question is. Are you trying to get as many pieces of the desk from 1 sheet of plywood? Sorry if I didn’t understand.
@@luisangelmedia4459 yes, like a layout of cuts on each plywood.
Corey Stopperan I didn’t keep track or made a plan beforehand on the cuts I needed to make. I bought two sheets of plywood and just made cuts as I went. I did try to select the best parts for the top shelve and the desk top, but no sorry, I don’t have that info.
If you visit Richard dizerega, he has links of cutout plans on his video of this desk that he built.
how long did it take you to get the desk after you ordered it ?
This was not purchased from Output. I made all the parts myself and I sanded them and stained them. Look at the other video on my channel for how I went about making this.
Great Job Luis, Very Nice
Hi Luis what size screws did you use I am going to give it a shot?
DJL609 I personally used 2 inch furniture screws, with a rounded head and bronze color. I used 3/4 plywood. The inner legs are doubled so those together equals 1-1/2 inches plus the 3/4 thickness of the outer leg. Just make sure you buy screws just long enough to grab on to all pieces of wood you’re using, but that they won’t go past the surface all the way through.
@@luisangelmedia4459 Thank You Sir You're the Best....one more question how did you come up with the angles for the legs, I am a beginner at this.
