What's the reason for shutting an environmentally friendly system like this down ? High maintenance cost or.... ?

VERY STUPID AND SHORTSIGHTED DECISION to shut down a dependable, proven trackless trolley service in order to operate battery powered buses. Doubtful the the expense of lithium batteries will be less than electricity.
