Why is it that in the boat world, there are a ton of small builders making semi-custom boats rather than are a few gigantic companies making all of the boats (like how the automotive market works)? I look at these factories, see all the manual labor, and wonder if the reason center consoles are so expensive is because these factories aren't large enough to afford the automation that would make boats cheaper to produce.

We never got to see the injection process with the massive stringers. That is something to see under the hood.
