Good question. The websites FAQ has a strange answer on this: "In rare cases, orders may incur additional charges due to customs fees levied by your country's government, not by our website,These fees are your responsibility, We apologize, but we have no control over your or other countries' customs authorities, Please contact your local customs office for more information about customs fees, duties, and taxes." It is definitely not rare to have to pay duties/taxes. On their website I can't even see whether they have included the Value Added Taxes or not.
Dobar dan. Thanks again for another informative video. Be careful when showing the "map" on your dashboard. The internet is a big place, and unfortunately, some people might have bad intentions.
I have venetian blinds and use the Switchbot Blind Tilt motors, plus a couple of SOMA connect motors. I will be replacing the SOMA connect motors with Switchbot motors as the swithcbot ones are more reliable, and the integration in Home Assistant for Switchbot BLE products is better maintained. I have automations set based on presence and the azimuth angle of the sun and they seem to work quite well for me as most of my windows are either on the western facing side or eastern facing side of the apartment, just due to the layout of the apartment block.
There are a lot of similar companies - and it's very hard to find what is the parent company of them all. If you look carefully in Terms and Conditions of SmartWings Home for example, governing court is left empty - sentence is not fnished. A lot of them I think are companies using OEM production and that's why they can have very similar look or stlye.
11:32 Looks like these controls are more suited to a horizontal kind of cover, like an awning. Can you set it to vertical?
These are just icons. And you can customise them or use different type of card.
Hi! Does it support partial opening/close?
I've tried opening for example 25%, 50% in Home Assistant, and it works.
Nice video. These look interesting and I'll be looking into them. Thanks!
Thank you!!!
Did you have to pay additional import duties when they arrived at customs?

Yes, I had to pay import duties and VAT on them
@@BeardedTinker thanks!

Thank you! No worries. I usually fake addresses near centre of the town :)

Is it possible to move multiple shades simultaneously so they move up and down in unison, at the exact same time?
You mention the shades had to go through customs, do you mean that the price on the side did not include VAT?
Price doesn't include customs/taxes. Everything is shipped from China from what I know.
@@BeardedTinkerthanks for the reply!
Is it WiFi- or Thread-based?
It's using Matter over Thread - so, to be precise, Thread.
No showing how loud the motor is during operation.
It would be hard to show it as mic couldn't pick it up.
They look nice, is a pity they are based in US.
They seem to be a copy of smartwings in my opinion
