This night with that song playing will forever live in the hearts of those who lived in that era. It's one of the most triumphant moments of Freedom that ever happened. 20 years later, only memories left. But I believe that this song will be singed again, with the new strength of the new generation. Hope still lives.

I am Russian and live near Moscow now. But I was born in Moscow and lived there with my parents when I was a child. When our musicians were on the ship and sailing up or down the Moskva-river I was quite near with my family. But knew nothing about Scorpions. Now I do. I know a lot about them. There are a lot of songs that I love more than this one. But, all the same, "Wind. .."is very close to my heart. It's our history too. Thanks a lot for it, dear Klaus and all our uncomparable Scorpions!

This beautiful and noble song holds the hope for all humanity in its lyrics. This is what we must hold onto. Our *shared humanity* in the face of insatiable greed and psychopathy from our corrupt "leaders", the whole world over.
historic moment , wind of change in Moscow
Klaus Meine must be an angel to have written such a beautiful song with such deep, meaningful lyrics, a real Hymn of peace. And he even has a beautiful angelic voice where you can feel how he radiates out love. From all voices in rock music I ever listened to I don't know a second one that sings with so much love in his voice. I always thought so about his voice.

The song itself actually refers to Moscow, where this concert was held, the fierst two lines are clear! Moskva is Moscow in Russian, Gorky park is a true park in Mosocw and balalaika is a russian instrument! That's awsome!!

This was the soundtrack to the fall of the Berlin Wall , and it just brings back the feeling of relief and hope of the time .

I was neither a West or East German soilder. I was in the United States military. I understood that if war was to break out I would be with the first into battle.
I have many friends in the unified Germany who stood on both sides of the wall.
When this aired....I thought to myself....a German band playing in Moscow. We have come full circle. Truly. I just wish peace could have lasted. But the war pigs seem to always win.

You said it so right. I am from Bulgaria and now we changed the komunists mental agenda with another one which is no different by the way. But the message from this song was lost somewhere along the way...
@@johndoew9777 The thing is, we are falling back into those schemes again. My mom was almost completely grown up in Bavaria when the Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall fell. She said the very early 90ies were the best years considering politics and overall atmosphere, as the reunion sparked hope in so many people, it was the knowledge that things will become better from there on.
Of course, a lot is better now, more rights for more people and so on, but politically, more and more countries here in Europe fall back into more right, left, or extremist schemes, or what we've been told would improve has never actually improved at all. Things are going south
