Bringing Up the Newly Designed Billybob Character- 1981

- After months of work, the art department headed by my mom, Essie Fechter, and featuring the talent of many artists, led by the hilarious and good natured Dave Thomas, the newly designed Billy Bob was ready to bring upstairs to the show room. We were all very excited about this and couldn't wait to see it perform for the first time, see what falls apart and what holds together and how good or bad it looks actually working. This work/party spirit was typical for a young Creative Engineering.

the timing on these animatronics are AMAZING. I can't get over how spot on they are with the music.
It's so amazing how Aaron's bot's are 39 Years Old and can still play and make us happy, I hope he still stays in buissness and his show will be the ebst!
He is still in business but he is currently relocating. The old building is most likely going to be destroyed when you conceder the construction in his area
I greatly appreciate when people take the time to upload pre-digital era film. That alone makes it worth watching.
It’s totally apparent how genuinely happy everyone is working there. CEI was a true all round success story, inspiring and entertaining the public, staff loving their job - such a shame the funds were cut. No matter what people think, Aaron Fechter will go down in history as one of the most unique entertainment innovator and inventors of all time
Oh wow, you were a wild and crazy bunch even back then. So incredible! I love it. It's such a nostalgic look at a time I was barely old enough to remember. And it's great seeing the installation of Billy Bob mk II then seeing him in action along side the rest of the Rock-aFire Explosion. If any other videos like this exist, keep em' coming! They're great!

I didn't know Heartache was so old! They're so much more... well, they move way less smoother. I've never even seen those Looney Bird, Fats, or Beach Bear generations.

Look at how fast they went in 81’, compared to day! They went so smooth and fast. Today they go Medium and Dook’s eyes look drooped, and Fatz fur looks old!

Honestly I’d never seen roast beef sandwich performed by billybob until this video and i love how lively his movements are. Especially when he just starts swinging his head to the tune of his own song right here 23:04

Hey Aaron quick question the hard luck bears around the beginning of the video are those from the knoebels show or a different show because I recently went to knoebels and saw Pete and Repeat on display and it looks like the ones from the knoebels show idk if it's the ones or not.
No it’s the playCenter show because the knoebels show was installed in 1980 and the playCenter show was installed in 1981
