    Awesome video! Only feedback I have is maybe do the slow mo replays after the action happens, instead of before we see it at normal speed, just to avoid breaking the flow of the fight. Love the robot design! Might try stealing the idea for a similar antweight.

    second of all:
    This is THE BEST video to show to a beginner who wanna get into combat robotics
    there was spark, fire, technical stuff, robots flying, this video is just perfect.
    Congratulations, really good content, you really can see the effort behind it, keep it up :D

    Gotta say that the amount of control you have with this bot is insane, having a plan and actually executing it are two different beasts. Very well done.

    Rewatching that last fight. Every flip he got on you, you bounced off those side skirts and all the potential damage of the fall was lost. Amazing what a bit of flexible armor can do.
    Great work, and well done!

    I just thought of the idea that a fully round spinner with ejecting teeth would maybe work pretty well. The teeth are hidden inside the assembly until it spins up fast enough at which point they come out. Saw some moment where you pretty much held the opponent right on top of you with their wheels directly in front of your spinner but unable to spin up freely. Would be really interested if something like that could even remotely work👍👍. Keep up the good work

    Congratulations on the big wins! I’ve been following you ever since you introduced Subdivision, and I’m happy to see how far you’ve come in your robot-fighting endeavors. Rarely do rookies win a tournament, especially in the higher weight classes! I hope all goes well in the future, and that we’ll see more of featherweight Derive!

    Very nice video, enjoyed it plenty.
    The v shaped belts cover a bigger surface area. There are also ones with multiple ribs for even more grip.
    And maybe its possible to limit the output of the motor when the weapon speed is low.
    Like throttling the gas before take off in a car keeps the tires and clutch from slipping.
    Best of luck in future battles, keep them videos comming. Cheers

    I wonder if the belt slip isn’t an advantage in some ways as it’ll have some give when the weapon hits. Hopefully transmitting less stress to the motor.

  • @lukakvlogs1478
    @lukakvlogs1478 11 месяцев назад +1

    You should try using a V-Belt instead of a flat pulley, I believe you would get much better torque transfer to the weapon motor and thus much improver spin-up time. Either way keep up the good work, Im loving your vids!

    Limits on weapon tip speed? After being spoiled on NHRL fights, that's such an alien concept. If a robot destroys their enclosure, they build a better enclosure next time. Which has happened. Like when Dutch Oven melted everything inside the enclosure.
    Nice fights and good driving.

    • @BrokenLinkRobotics
      @BrokenLinkRobotics  6 месяцев назад

      @Crosshair84 arenas are very very expensive, the event runner here can't afford a better one yet and this one is a bit old. Better to limit the speed and have fun for a few years than get one destructive event and done.

    • @BrokenLinkRobotics
      @BrokenLinkRobotics  6 месяцев назад

      @doah2343 not sure what your machine looks like, but you'd want the lifter pivot as far back as possible. Consider how the gears turn when torqued, and how the frame may flex because of it.

      Could I ask what specific vesc you are using? No specific reason other than just being curious, they looked like vesc 4s

    • @BrokenLinkRobotics
      @BrokenLinkRobotics  11 месяцев назад

      @wes8486 they are all VESC mini 6.7s of both makerbase and Flipsky variety. All but one have the heatsinks removes to decrease volume. Worked fine without them. Should add VESC 6.7s are just 4s with updated components

    • @wes8486
      @wes8486 11 месяцев назад

      @@BrokenLinkRobotics I've been considering purchasing Trampa vescs for their quality but the price is huge compared to the whole flipsky lineup. In the end if the cheaper ones work as advertised and don't randomly die (being used in optimal conditions) I'd be happy. Thanks for the info.
