Genuinely not a big fan of the remix album yet, although I love pretty much everything Charli has done. Also club classics was the one played during her boiler room set, so I was hoping we would get that version of mean girls too, and nope!

THIS GIRL! Oh, what a genius! She comes out with the perfect album for fall. Moody and introspective, like the perfect cool down after a chaotic summer. I personally love love love the run from apple to itaialt, and honesty, I want a full project from charli and bon iver (and I wouldn't be mad if Justin wanted to produce for pop girlies ala Jack Antonoff, not mad at all🤭) Also So I was a gut punch again, and sympathy is a knife with Ari was really a pleasant surprise. Ari's vocals with charli's effects sounded so good! And I love the new melodies! My only complaint, why no remixes for hello goodbye and spring breakers?! I need them!😂 Happy brat fall king, bumpin' that to the chiropractor...

Ok time for a semi review, this album feels like the conversations held at parties, weather that’s anxiety filled seen in everything is romantic and sympathy is knife, so the plans made on songs like Von Dutch, to the outright bragging and flirting on other cuts like guess and talk talk. The repeat of 360 and 365 bumpin that line makes this feel like this is the party that Charli blasted into with spring breakers and she’s embracing how messy and imperfect the rise of her success and the party was. So I, to me sets up the themes of celebrating life, something that maybe she was scared to do on the original brat.
Brat definitely was the veneer of looking like a party girl but also being deeply insecure, I think this one’s acknowledging loneliness and seeking company and truth
what i love about these remixes is that they each sound like they could be on each respective artists’ albums!! everything is romantic sounded directly off of her album pang, SIAK sounded like eternal sunshine (like you mentioned), and 365 sounds EXACTLY like a shygirl/club shy cut. charli is such a visionary when it comes to how different songs can sound and the expansiveness of a remix. i will be streaming this album into eternity i fear
can i just say i found your channel in ninth grade through your melodrama video around the time when i first started finding my own music taste, and now that i’ve graduated high school, i can say your videos have changed my taste in music so much. so thankful for this channel for introducing me to carly rae jepsen and for making me an angel well before brat summer, it was very much worth being made fun of by my sister for having the music taste of a gay millennial.

This entire project....WHEW! I think this is what tipped me over from casual fan into a genuine Charli fan, because (much like with og brat), it only took me a day to Get™ this album and fall head-over heels for every new version. It's a little lopsided like you said, but each new reflected aspect of the og songs is nothing short of brilliant! I especially like that my faves parts of the og tended to get expanded out into the remixes' main hooks, like on Rewind and Mean girls. My faves off the remix are Everything is romantic, B2b, Apple, and Talk talk!

See I was so surprised people didn't like it because I actually started listening to her because of Vond Dutch. I loved every single song on this album(s). This era made me listen to pop again!

Digested it all a bit more now and it really is a companion record in the spirit of her mixtape era. Not every song has new beats or new Charli lyrics but there's a good variety of both so it stays fresh. I'm impressed at how in conversation it is with brat standard. I haven't been running it back to front much bc the vibe is less cohesive #justremixalbumthings but it's undeniably still brat and stil Charli. I love how Everything is Romantic blends the DIWTTIY and brat eras (also is the headphones line an album art reference?) but I'm currently most obsessed with the So i remix (shocker xp) I agree it can't exist without the original but moves beyond it sonically and emotionally, gotta acknowledge the regrets but also celebrate the good memories of people we've lost. I keep crying but in a cathartic "she'd want us to party right now" type of way. What a banger 🩷

the preview is my mount rushmore absolutely adore how the remix album feels like it's a bunch of sticky notes littered all over the paper tome of the original brat, how most of the remixes develop the unfiltered emotions of the original tracks, and how charli brings out that voice in all the collaborators!! monumental record and a half, these two, all under an unassuming ugly green square 🟩
I just love how interactive all of it is, like this album and its rollout has been the music story of the year for me (besides Chappell’s sudden rise, fall, and rise)
I mentioned this in the Sympathy is a Knife remix video. People are hating but are unaware of what a remix album actually is. It also happened with Club Future Nostalgia. It's not supposed to be a brand new album or even an improved version. BRAT original version is clearly the blueprint and that's why it is the standard. The Remix album works as a complement or side-B and also adds something different that fits the DJ Boiler Room world better (hence the REMIX concept). It's supposed to give the sensation someone is playing with the original and giving new perspectives. What is commendable here is that she extended the way she's been hyping the album with the collabs but, again, it's meant to be a REMIX. Besides, I think that the new beats are reminiscent of her past works and that's why OG fans are enjoying it because it's sort of a self-tribute. However, it's true that 360, Girl, so confusing and Guess remixes were actually using the same original beat and that's why certain people were expecting for the other versions to be like this and that was, maybe, her only fault.
Honestly, I agree with a lot of the points. Club Future Nostalgia got so much unwarranted hate for being a remix record. The title is so honest about what it is, it shocks me people WANT cashgrab nonsense remixes. Even the “plainer” ones on here still do something interesting with the original text… 🟩
So I remix is perfect. The beginning sounds like a nod to L.O.V.E. and the outro sounds like a reworking of I Wanna Be With You from xcx world. The last chord is so horrifying it chokes me up every time, it really sums up how tragic her passing is.
I am enjoying the album and it’s growing on me. I really loved the NYC boiler room set and was expecting that kind of vibe. I would love it if she released those tracks, especially the AG Cook mix of Everything is romantic💚 Agree, love it when Charli and George collaborate. His mixes including Welcome to My island are so good 🤩
This album gave a new definition to remixes, she didn't phone it in, she actually remixed the track and made each one into an alternate version. I'm a relatively new fan of Charli and the "Brat" album, as I only just listened to the standard/deluxe for the first time in full last weekend. And I am *loving* it!! For those of you have all the "Brat" track in one playlist, how do you arrange the tracklist? I think some of the songs work excellently when placed side by side, like "So I" going from mourning SOPHIE's loss to reflecting on the joys from Charli's experiences with her-and the remix's more uptempo beat allows for a smoother transition into "Girl, so confusing." I'm not sure whether some of these songs sound better when placed next to their original or placed after all the original tracks.
it's a mesh between proper remixes like 365 or girl, so confusing where we got more beat or just guest verse added, and complete reworked songs like talk talk or everything is romantic, where the whole concept of the song is redefined. that's what makes this album so unique. from the first group highlights for me are shygirl and a.gcook collabs. not going to talk about these much, just great party additions and cry-on-the-dancefloor So I being highlighted as it should've been from the start. the second group is more unexpected. my faves would be Caroline and 1975. Caroline gave it all through and through. i might say something stupid is just exelent. it's a combination between band's greatest spoken interludes, hopkin's ambient chill production and charli's idea. for me it's just a song of it's own the whole project is just beyond, long live brat
I was so hyped for the The 365 remix, but on first listen the mixing sounded so bad it ruined it from me. Like it just sounded so much flatter and unfinished then the boiler room version. But today for some reason it sounds fine. Like did it get stealth patched or am i insane. I feel like im going insane!
Brat 2 really digs deeper into the ntergrual and complex but somewhat relatable Charli is in this current information era we live in, and individuality in society is harder to find despite us all living very parasocial lives within one another via mass media
The i might say something stupid remix reminded me of the broken social scene's music, or even sigur ros, it's a highlight for me. Other favs would be sympathy is a knife, von dutch, everything is romantic, so i, girl so confusing, b2b, and I think about it all the time.
They definitely sampled SOPHIE on so I I can’t place my finger on it but it’s from an unreleased track towards the end of the song it actually made me cry!!
When she called put everyone body shaming her or calling her face fake 😭 the year she acknowledged she had her fillers taken out bc she loves her natural face now… 😭 like… same people are seated day 1 for Wicked despite calling her a homewrecker
im in the minority of people who dont like brat or get the hype - but i still gave it a listen and the ariana remix was one i actually liked, praying its a smash hit.
New subscriber💖 but riffing off what other people have said, this album feels very introspective & “in your head” in a lot of ways. Like with Girl, So Confusing, a lot of the remixes almost have the antithesis of the original’s concept I also think she chose collaborators VERY well. Asking Ariana & the 1975 to be on their respective songs felt very intentional & almost combative/aggressive (a characteristic of Brat). Rather than pick someone else she said “no let’s discuss”
I think the introspection is why this album really became a phenomenon, and the collaborators were expertly done! I know some were expecting more conventional names but it’s a great mix of stars and rising voices and everyone seems to be an actual friend or peer of hers.
@@EljohnMacaranas oh I’m actually really glad we didn’t get the expected collabs (I heard Katy Perry & Rosalia at one point). I think artists doing fan service is GREAT but when a project is this cohesive it detracts from letting too many cooks in the kitchen Also wouldn’t be surprised if more niche artists start to have higher streaming numbers in the coming months!
Honestly Charli has always been someone generous with the ladder, while some of those celeb collabs would have been nice, I think it betrays the spirit of the record and her ethic a lil if it was an exclusive club
I don’t wanna come across as a (cis-het) men hater, but I could’ve done without Julian Casablancas, Matty Healy and Bon Iver, tbh. Like, why not put women on the tracks about iconic mean girls and motherhood? But then again, I’m always in favor of trusting the artist‘s vision, so it’s all good. I love both iterations of brat and I feel very thankful and proud towards Miss Charli Baby. 💚

i dont know why, but i didnt really enjoy this remix album all that much. It's odd because i pretty much either loved or liked all of the remixes before the album dropped (favorite is von dutch remix) so i dont know why only a couple kinda stuck with me when it released (everything is romantic, b2b, etc.) Maybe its because im comparing it too much to the original album (which is probably my most streamed album this year). I thought most of the tracks were fine but i know that i absolutely could not stand the mean girls remix, it started out catchy within the first 10 seconds but i dont know why julian's verse immediately kind of turned me off. Anybody else feel this way or have any tips to recontextualize the remix album because i feel like i might be missing something.

Off topic, as a puertorrican who is into both the Spanish and English Music Markets, I can tell u that BB Trickz is not beloved and even tho her verse in CC Remix is better than what she has usually put out, I feel really uncomfortable listening to it. BB Trickz is like the Spanish Ice Spice but even worse. She has said “Yung Beef” has AIDS in one of her songs just for the clout, like that’s just unacceptable and very irresponsible. She has a good team behind her and a label backing her up, which is how she got to be on this remix. And I don’t want to discredit her as an artist, I just wanted to give the perspective from the Spanish speaking general public and that is that BB tricks does not care about the art, just the numbers and that her gimmick of insulting other artists that are bigger than her, like Bad Gyal, is a rude and unnecessary tactic. BB Trickz is for Kids! 😂

Blew up out of nowhere with a viral hit that was being ridiculed, signed to a label, controversies ensues and the bad persons allegations get proven. Big difference is that Ice Spice went mainstream but BB Trickz has not broken through the mainstream Spanish music market. No one can say BB fell off but that’s because she still hasn’t blown up
I am completely obsessed with everything brat and this album was fantastic. However, I really didn’t like the 360 remix. It just felt like it didn’t fit in as well? Unsure but it just didn’t feel right
I think I’m in the minority on this, but I actually feel like the remix album somewhat cheapened the entire brat experience for me. Nothing was boundary pushing and only a few of the tracks are actually compelling to listen to imo, it personally felt like an unneeded extension that’s sole purpose was to get a bunch of people on an album for a kind of “let’s do a big industry moment thing and eat each others asses about it” when most of what was produced sounded like unfinished slop. I really think the high of all the names being revealed will wear off and this remix album will fade away as something people never turn on over the original or even really pay any mind to at all.
I've been trying with this Brat album for months. I listened to the song with Ariana this morning because I'm a ride or die fan of hers. I tried, again, to listen to the full regular album and I got through like 6 songs before I gave up. It sounds really... bad. Like bad on purpose. Stylistically bad. I think it's just not for me. Ariana sounds nice, but I expected that.

absolutely adore how the remix album feels like it's a bunch of sticky notes littered all over the paper tome of the original brat, how most of the remixes develop the unfiltered emotions of the original tracks, and how charli brings out that voice in all the collaborators!! monumental record and a half, these two, all under an unassuming ugly green square 🟩
I just love how interactive all of it is, like this album and its rollout has been the music story of the year for me (besides Chappell’s sudden rise, fall, and rise)

I mentioned this in the Sympathy is a Knife remix video. People are hating but are unaware of what a remix album actually is. It also happened with Club Future Nostalgia. It's not supposed to be a brand new album or even an improved version. BRAT original version is clearly the blueprint and that's why it is the standard. The Remix album works as a complement or side-B and also adds something different that fits the DJ Boiler Room world better (hence the REMIX concept). It's supposed to give the sensation someone is playing with the original and giving new perspectives. What is commendable here is that she extended the way she's been hyping the album with the collabs but, again, it's meant to be a REMIX. Besides, I think that the new beats are reminiscent of her past works and that's why OG fans are enjoying it because it's sort of a self-tribute. However, it's true that 360, Girl, so confusing and Guess remixes were actually using the same original beat and that's why certain people were expecting for the other versions to be like this and that was, maybe, her only fault.
Honestly, I agree with a lot of the points. Club Future Nostalgia got so much unwarranted hate for being a remix record. The title is so honest about what it is, it shocks me people WANT cashgrab nonsense remixes. Even the “plainer” ones on here still do something interesting with the original text… 🟩

I'm a relatively new fan of Charli and the "Brat" album, as I only just listened to the standard/deluxe for the first time in full last weekend. And I am *loving* it!! For those of you have all the "Brat" track in one playlist, how do you arrange the tracklist? I think some of the songs work excellently when placed side by side, like "So I" going from mourning SOPHIE's loss to reflecting on the joys from Charli's experiences with her-and the remix's more uptempo beat allows for a smoother transition into "Girl, so confusing." I'm not sure whether some of these songs sound better when placed next to their original or placed after all the original tracks.
I feel like the remix after the OG might be a good fit if you want to listen to it in a yin and yang sorta way!

From January to now, never letting up
it's a mesh between proper remixes like 365 or girl, so confusing where we got more beat or just guest verse added, and complete reworked songs like talk talk or everything is romantic, where the whole concept of the song is redefined. that's what makes this album so unique.
from the first group highlights for me are shygirl and a.gcook collabs. not going to talk about these much, just great party additions and cry-on-the-dancefloor So I being highlighted as it should've been from the start.
the second group is more unexpected. my faves would be Caroline and 1975. Caroline gave it all through and through. i might say something stupid is just exelent. it's a combination between band's greatest spoken interludes, hopkin's ambient chill production and charli's idea. for me it's just a song of it's own

I was so hyped for the The 365 remix, but on first listen the mixing sounded so bad it ruined it from me. Like it just sounded so much flatter and unfinished then the boiler room version. But today for some reason it sounds fine. Like did it get stealth patched or am i insane. I feel like im going insane!
Maybe it’s the atmos or spatial mix! If I’m on airpods, i love it but i turn it off for everything else!
Brat 2 really digs deeper into the ntergrual and complex but somewhat relatable Charli is in this current information era we live in, and individuality in society is harder to find despite us all living very parasocial lives within one another via mass media

New subscriber💖 but riffing off what other people have said, this album feels very introspective & “in your head” in a lot of ways. Like with Girl, So Confusing, a lot of the remixes almost have the antithesis of the original’s concept
I also think she chose collaborators VERY well. Asking Ariana & the 1975 to be on their respective songs felt very intentional & almost combative/aggressive (a characteristic of Brat). Rather than pick someone else she said “no let’s discuss”
I think the introspection is why this album really became a phenomenon, and the collaborators were expertly done! I know some were expecting more conventional names but it’s a great mix of stars and rising voices and everyone seems to be an actual friend or peer of hers.
@@EljohnMacaranas oh I’m actually really glad we didn’t get the expected collabs (I heard Katy Perry & Rosalia at one point). I think artists doing fan service is GREAT but when a project is this cohesive it detracts from letting too many cooks in the kitchen
Also wouldn’t be surprised if more niche artists start to have higher streaming numbers in the coming months!
Honestly Charli has always been someone generous with the ladder, while some of those celeb collabs would have been nice, I think it betrays the spirit of the record and her ethic a lil if it was an exclusive club

i dont know why, but i didnt really enjoy this remix album all that much. It's odd because i pretty much either loved or liked all of the remixes before the album dropped (favorite is von dutch remix) so i dont know why only a couple kinda stuck with me when it released (everything is romantic, b2b, etc.) Maybe its because im comparing it too much to the original album (which is probably my most streamed album this year). I thought most of the tracks were fine but i know that i absolutely could not stand the mean girls remix, it started out catchy within the first 10 seconds but i dont know why julian's verse immediately kind of turned me off. Anybody else feel this way or have any tips to recontextualize the remix album because i feel like i might be missing something.
I think the remix album was made for the fans who felt Brat wasn’t made the way her older stuff was, it’s not a slight to not be into it because tbh the OG Brat is just too good to live up to

Off topic, as a puertorrican who is into both the Spanish and English Music Markets, I can tell u that BB Trickz is not beloved and even tho her verse in CC Remix is better than what she has usually put out, I feel really uncomfortable listening to it. BB Trickz is like the Spanish Ice Spice but even worse. She has said “Yung Beef” has AIDS in one of her songs just for the clout, like that’s just unacceptable and very irresponsible. She has a good team behind her and a label backing her up, which is how she got to be on this remix. And I don’t want to discredit her as an artist, I just wanted to give the perspective from the Spanish speaking general public and that is that BB tricks does not care about the art, just the numbers and that her gimmick of insulting other artists that are bigger than her, like Bad Gyal, is a rude and unnecessary tactic. I am completely obsessed with everything brat and this album was fantastic. However, I really didn’t like the 360 remix. It just felt like it didn’t fit in as well? Unsure but it just didn’t feel right
I think that’s fair, I feel like it’s Charli scratching that itch she has to rap (she wanted to be a rapper early on in her career but never got to)
I think I’m in the minority on this, but I actually feel like the remix album somewhat cheapened the entire brat experience for me. Nothing was boundary pushing and only a few of the tracks are actually compelling to listen to imo, it personally felt like an unneeded extension that’s sole purpose was to get a bunch of people on an album for a kind of “let’s do a big industry moment thing and eat each others asses about it” when most of what was produced sounded like unfinished slop. I really think the high of all the names being revealed will wear off and this remix album will fade away as something people never turn on over the original or even really pay any mind to at all.

I've been trying with this Brat album for months. I listened to the song with Ariana this morning because I'm a ride or die fan of hers. I tried, again, to listen to the full regular album and I got through like 6 songs before I gave up. It sounds really... bad. Like bad on purpose. Stylistically bad. I think it's just not for me. Ariana sounds nice, but I expected that.
