I have to plead guilty too. Amazing amount of dirt comes out of some of those carpets, So many that need cleaning in their town/city and a great variety. Never knew what went into commercial area rug cleaning. This current gray carpet in this vid, I had NO idea it had stripes when they started on the process.

But the answer to your question is slobs who just don’t give a shit about their appearance, or the shear amount of filth they live in! I have a 80# dog, 3 cats, 4 fish tanks and 2 parakeets in my room+ a kitchenette as I eat my meals separately due to food allergies. It’s night and day difference between us 2!
If you can pick it up & move it like he can - its classed as a Rug. Carpet can not be picked up without a LOT of effort as its usually a full room size & secured in place [w/tack/carpet strips]. Rugs are meant to sit on top of high traffic areas - be they wood, tiles, or carpet. That way THEY get this filthy to save on the wear & tear of the flooring beneath. Don't do anything like this to your carpet. It's amazing how many people don't know the difference. Amazing job - as always - on this rug!! 💛💚💙
The area rug looked great when you were finished. If that was for a customer they probably could have a purchased a new one instead of the cost to clean it. Either way nice job.
