Loved this! Hoping 🙏🏼 Christopher❤ does this for other holidays as well! Barbie was my favorite doll, so I just love the nostalgia you two bring to this video!😍
Love it!! Seeing retro Barbie dolls brings back such fun memories for me. I'm a 70's kid, and I had so much Barbie stuff, including the camper. I used to take it outside and play that Barbie was on vacation. My brother had a G.I. Joe, so he would tag along, and Barbie and Joe would go 4-wheeling in Joe's jeep! Hahaha! Thank you, Christopher, for sharing this with me. I really enjoyed seeing what you have liked over the years.
For the kissing Barbie the lipstick opens like a tube of lipstick. It was liquid and did leave a little pink smudge on the letters or Ken’s cheek. When I was a child I luved her and still do.
That's how I remember it too. Perhaps with time the liquid has dried up. I loved that one and may have to find her again and add her to my collection. 😍
So sweet, lovely video! When I realized that vintage Barbie fashions were so different, quality wise, I decided to get one. I fell for Romantic ruffles! Wonderful to see all these fashions. I also love how different were the sculpts from one doll to another in the 80s. Felt modern dolls had the same face, even Skipper. Many thanks for this video, and happy valentine's day to you too ❤
Hi Christopher my name is Bill Weigand I have been collecting dolls for 36 years of my life and I am not about stop ! I remember the Kissing Barbie when I was I kid * the doll that I played with did the same sound as yours does. I remember the stamp kit ,it had a sponge I think inside that yellow lipstick . I also remember playing with the Valentines Barbie as well. I collect antique bisque dolls ,all bisque small dolls and baby and children dolls. I have over 200 dolls.
OMG!! Thank you so much for sharing Kissing Barbie! A few months ago I got a used, unboxed, one online for a good deal and when she came, with her head sewn and sparse hair I thought she had been repaired 😂 Christopher, your videos are wonderful, you had me laughing to tears (in a good way) as I listened on my drive home from work. Going to have to watch again for sure ❤😊
Rachel and Christopher, I do apologize for commenting after Valentines day, but so much has been happening with me. I still really LOVE my Kissing Barbie💋🙂 and still have her since I was a Kid, but I wish I could find her original dress that someone got lost to the sands of time😔😔😢😢. As for my favorite Barbies in Christopher's collection, I really LOVE 1982 Loving you Barbie❤❤❤, Diner Date Barbie with her Tutu💖💖, and although I am not fan of 1960s face molds, I really LOVE Romantic Ruffles with her sweet face, pink and glitter gown💖💖💖!! And I also LOVE the gown and pink pearls on 1965 Campus Sweet Heart💖💖💖!!! And I would so LOVE to own Sweet Roses PJ🌹🌹 with her sweet soft features on her face making her look so pretty as well as innocent and I so LOVE her pink gown 🌹🌹💖💖💖💖💖!!! Christopher, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful Barbie Dolls with us, sharing the Valentines Barbie Magazine which looks like fun, and other Barbies for Valentines Day🤗🤗💖💖💖💖💖!!! And Rachel and Christopher, I hope that you both had an amazing Valentines Day😃😃!!!
Happy Valentines day!! This was a great video, always fun to see vintage dolls!! I have a sweet roses PJ and yes she was supposed to have a rose smell, mine has a very faint smell, I believe the smell was on the roses... And yes she is gorgeous ❤️🌹❤️
I know other people have commented on it, but the tube of "lipstick" for Kissing Barbie does open. The pink part is like a cap and it pops off the yellow bottom. It is essentially just an ink stamper that you can press on the dolls lips to leave kiss prints. But of course after all these decades most of the ink has dried up.
I believe that the kiss transfer is by dipping the printed lip at the end of the lipstick tube onto a sponge, like we used to do while wo at the bank to add your signature - “dip then press” 🤗🤣 - I do remember it turned me off! So different from the advertisement!!
love this video christopher , well its sweet roses pj always i dont think she was on big release in the uk but remember her in a catalogue a friend had and it was love at first sight id never seen a steffie mould doll ever so as a friend doll i never forgot her until the late 90s when she came from america thanks to ebay to stay with me now i have 3 truly beautiful in every way
For the kissing Barbie, the lipstick worked like a stamp. I don’t remember whether there was a separate stamp cushion or if it was in the lipstick cap. The head is a solid piece of plastic underneath the soft vinyl. The only action is the tilting of the head, no additional puckering of the lips.
Haha Christopher you are so funny, I actually love the Kissing Barbie but don’t have one of my own yet 😁. I’m in Scotland so vintage Barbies are not so easy to get here but I do have some.
There was no Sweet Roses Barbie equivalent to Sweet Roses P.J. in 1984. There was an unrelated Sweet Roses Barbie and furniture collection that came much later in 1989.
I had Kissing Barbie and I feel like it was a stamp type thing. I wonder if that “lipstick” might come apart more? I was REALLY little and it’s been minute so the memories are very vague!
These are my favorite videos, Christopher & you...and _Barbies!!_
Yay! Thank you!
Christopher you are such fun to listen to. You tell great stories. Such an asset to a doll shop. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
