What an amazing video. You shot down my hopes (joking), but better to be informed than wasting my time exhaustively searching those already sold out areas. Thank you, Dom. I just turned down a beachfront home in Posorja for $78k. It was brand new, but had a road between the house and beach. Was extremely tempting, I admit.

Nice summary David. Cojimies looks interesting. Those little towns of Curia, San Jose, Las Nunez and La Entrada are just north of Olon but high tide takes water all the way up so there is no dry sand during low tide so not really a beach there. There might be one little dry spot in San Jose or Curia cant remember which. Puerto Lopez is having a drought right now and has a severe water problem. I think the first requirement in finding a beach/coastal property is a steady supply of water. Which coastal towns have their own supply of water?
Nice Dom! You might not be able to find beachfront in some of those places but you can sometimes find houses that are the second house off the beach like I did. I bought in Oloncito two years ago for a great price. A casita and studio with outdoor living rooms.. Very well protected from the salt air anf beautiful woodwork. Stop by if your in town!
Some added information on Ayangue. 1. There were three beach bars that would blast the music almost competing with one another with the logic that the loudest music attracts more customers. 2. The city seems to think that becoming more of a party town like Montanita is a good thing as the city built cocktail bars on the main strip that leads to the beach the beach. 3. The good is that the cove is great for safe swimming for young kids. But that is bad if you are a surfer. 4. As Dom already said, it is pricey.
Yes and way over priced. If you visit the expat realtor sites, most of those have been ridiculously over priced. It's 2023 at the time of posting this and there is a lot more availability along the coast for sale and prices are starting to drop. If you can find a good local ecuadorian realtor, go with them. I agree, renting is the way to go.
Unless two hours sleep a night is enough - - - do not buy property in Ecuador . Loud music until 4 or 5 in the morning is common . No respect for other people's sleep or rest . And , no noise ordnances ! No respect for others at anytime of the day = no sleep .

Have you done a video on Guayanquil?
Yep! Search my channel
Great channel!
Thank you!
Would be lot better if u also show price as well
Touch down cool video
Why do you have to purchase a beachfront property? I'd rather just rent so I can come and go as I please. Owning on the beach is way over rated.

Then go away 🙄
How you explain that a lot of people from US & Europe are living happily in Ecuador.
Lots of culture differences for sure, but ya the music can go all night just like fireworks. One must be very tolerant when living abroad.
