Thanks for doing this. You're informative and entertaining. I admire your energy and enthusiasm. Unless I'm reading it wrong, you haven't posted in over a year. So sad! Hope you're doing well though.
@@selfhealherbs13ms I'm glad. A couple of years ago I bought one like that from Etsy not even thinking about that issue so now I'm always having to stick it in a needle/hook sizer. I went back & checked other sellers & sure enough the size is always covered up! I'm sure yours are wonderful! :D
I mainly use Susan Bates hooks. I have the crochet dude ergo handle also. I pushed some paper towel down in the hole. It helps raise the hook and add that little extra length. It takes a little getting used to but it really does relieve stress on your hand and wrist.
When we were younger, my cousin and I put pencils grips on our crochet hooks. That worked pretty good for us, and the was easy slip them on or stretch them a bit to fit the thicker hooks.
OMGosh! Just found your channel. You are hysterical! "I feel like I should be doing this in private." The review is much appreciated, but the humor is the best! Thanks for sharing with us, Janet.
i know this video is a little older but thank you SO much for making it, i was thinking of getting the susan bates 2 pack you reviewed. now i know that would've been a disaster haha! the pencil grip + rubber band sounds really secure and i'm going to give that a try.
Hi, I wanted to clarify something about the wood egg thing. Crochet hooks are made of two different types of metal that define their size. Aluminum hooks are the bigger colorful ones. Steel hooks are the silver itty bitty ones. If you notice on the wood egg thing it states for "steel crochet hooks". The may make another size wood egg for the bigger Aluminum ones. I hope this helps.
I hopped on Amazon right as you finished and bought the boye crochet dude, as boye are my preferred hook. I really like it a lot for big projects like blankets or shawls. Thank you for the review!👍
The blue foam cushion works on the steel crochet hooks that are used for crocheting with cotton threads used for making doilies. I personally use it and it really makes a huge difference.

I use a remoldable plastic (like InstaMorph) for my crochet hooks. That way, they are perfectly molded for my hands - and can be remolded any time. It's even better than polymer clay, because you can correct it.
@@KatarinaS. It can be temporary. Remoldable plastic gets soft and kneadable in hot water. But once I have it perfectly molded, why should I remove it?

Thank you for presenting this video. I was impressed with the Boye's crochet hook handle so much, I purchased one and LOVE IT! It works great. Now I can use my Boye Hooks again without my hand spamming. I love it so much I got a second one, it will arrives tomorrow cheeper than my 1st one with the cyber Monday sale on Amazon for $6.68. A deal!. Walmart is asking $18.87 for the same item. It's for a second hook or emergency useage if the 1st one breaks.

Oh my gosh! I bought the SB foam cushions before I saw your review. I got the thing on, but I had to use scissors to cut it off my hook. I took your advise and bought some pencil grips from Dollar Tree. Works just fine. Thank you!
I've tried several ergonomic crochet hooks to try and prevent the pain in the side of my hand and wrist, but I've found that changing the way I hold the hook tends to aggravate my wrist even more. I loved your reviews though, because I had the coil-looking one in my Amazon list to try out and you just saved me time, money and possibly whatever I would've broken throwing the hook after trying to get the grip on. 😂
I just came across your channel. Love your personality and persistence in reviewing crochet products. Your humor is fantastic! I am subscribing and coming back for more! 😆 lol
I bought some foam and wire hair curler things from the dollar store (6 per pack for $1) and wrapped them around the crochet hook. I have also used hot glue to make a custom handle for a small hook I use for thread crochet. While it's still warm and soft you can form it to fit your fingers.

I bought the Boye Ergonomic handle at Walmart. It's great with my tiny steel hooks, it's a lot more comfortable to crochet with them. Edit: The 4mm hook washer fits my tiny Boye steel hooks, in case anyone wants to try it.
I have the boye green and blue (I call it my crochet bobber cause it looks like a fishing bobber) I use it for both boye & susan bates it works great. I have MS & it takes allows me to still be able to crochet

I knew it would never come back off. Lol. I just had that thought when I bought them. They do feel good in the hand and make using small hooks easier. Loved the review and laughed a lot. Hey Girl, I prefer the boye crochet hooks over the susan bates hooks. The working part of the shaft is longer on the boye brand and they have a more tapered point in their hook as compared to susan bates. That boye ergo crochet hook holder is amazing. It made it possible to enjoy the process of crocheting once again. I've bought several over the years and almost all of my hooks have the little rubber stoppers, regardless of brand. I almost never crochet without it.
OK, you made me laugh out LOUD!!! Just a note - the pencil grips work good if you take one and slice it, place it on the hook, then slip a whole one over it while squishing the slit one. You have to use the famous lubricant though! I used the clear glittery gel ones also.

Hi there funny lady, I truly like you, you make me laugh, thank you for that, lol, I haven't read the remarks about the susan bates grips that you reviewed, but I'm here to let you know, I'm 63 years young lol I've been crocheting for 50 years, decades ago I latched on and bought the susan bates hooks, love them, I also bought these susan bates grips it took me a day to figure out how to get the hooks through the grips, go over to your sink, turn on your faucet to warm water put your grip under the warm water saturate the grip totally, put a little tiny bit of dish soap across your hook with the water still running on your grip, insert your hook into your grip, it will go throuh easily, the bigger hooks use the sink and a wash cloth as a platform then push the grip down onto your hook while the water is still running on the grip, worked like a charm for me. Also you can make 2 grips out of one, just cut it right in the middle. The 2 that comes in the package makes 4 grips. I hope this helps, I love these grips, it helps my hand to crochet without pain. Love these. I have been planning to do wish and Amazon haul review videos but life has gotten busy so haven't gotten around to doing any new videos. But I just love watching yours! Stay blessed ❤❤
Great job - I've been eyeballin' some grips for a while. I like the green/blue egg with the washers for when I use any hook smaller then a 4. I've also seen some handmade ones on Etsy, that were wooden or polymer clay that looked nice. I saw another crocheter use the ergonomic right handed wooden one - the price was $30.00 (each) for one size grip and fits only Boye/Bates hooks. Whewww, I think when I desperately need one - I'll learn to make one out of polymer clay.

Thank you. Hey fellow RUclipsr 😊 it's difficult finding Crochet related items. Our craft doesn't demand much lol
I use the boye egg handle with my bates hooks. I just don't put it in the handle as far and it still works. The rubber stopper keeps it in place. 😁
Thanks for making this video! I ‘be been looking for ways to make using my steel hooks more comfortable.
Thank you 🙏 great videos!! 🧶🧶🧶
