Im on the hunt for a CL63 2009ish. But they are tough to find in the right spec. I’d prefer the designo package and a few other things, I just know it will take time.
You guys are confused! I never owned or have tried to sell this car, though I do own a minty jet black Viggen.....I just brought the auction to your attention! But yeah a minty low 80-100m Viggen might get 12500-16500. Worth every cent.
Agree with you on all except the SLS. That car with the mileage should’ve brought $200k+ I blame seller for the low bid. He tried too hard to overhype the car with a bunch of useless nonsense. Would’ve brought $240k at the peak but shouldn’t be sub $200k now. The Alfa guy is not only dumb, he’s dumb beyond belief. Not sure why didn’t his highly experienced BAT seller advise him. Maybe he did but was ignored. BAT is not the right place to sell that car. And yes JP you’re totally off base regarding interest rates. The more important factor is consumer sentiment, which could go positive with even the slightest hint of the feds changing their outlook and getting on the rate cutting path.
LOL I have 3 cars in a 2 driver family where I need to move 2 to get to the fun one. Not planning or buying anything soon but find this all entertaining and interesting.
26k gets the jeep done. #TheDennisCollinsFactor 63k for the targa, I think the targas are coming up and these years are a sweet spot - paint lets it DOWN 195k for the RUF 911 sometimes you can add lipstick to a pig - I think the seller gets some of their investment back. And take that plastic off the radio FFS.
YES! Both are dumb and I'll explain why: Buying cool cars has become a "trendy" thing to do, over the last several years. You have: 1. People who think they're going to get rich quickly 2. people who aren't really "car people", who have money to burn, and their common sense is very lacking. These people approach the actual market like they're playing real life Forza Horizon 5, where $189k Mazda miatas transact daily.
@bidnerds to your point about the Alfa: yes. In generalities, as far as the trend of car buyers and sellers goes; I feel my view rings true. Naturally, it's not going to apply 100% of the time.
The Viggen sale was just insane. It got hyped a bit because of being a slicktop, but the replacement engine had like 130K miles. It was well presented by the seller, but it was just driver quality. Needed some paintwork around, wear on the seats. I was with you on the under at $7500 and a buyer around that to $9K.
I don’t think it was hyped up, it’s 1 of 7 in the US with a very cool provenance. There were 3 bidders at $15k+ that all realize the rarity and value..
@@99SaabViggen I guess I should have clarified, I wanted it and wasn't willing to pay that, haha!! Saabs in general have seen some nice increases lately, nice for the brand, but doesn't help me at all!! 🙂
A '72T came factory with MFI, gents.
I'm excited to discuss that SLS AMG that you photographed! On BAT right now!
The good one!

I think the former owner was in the chat last night. Got confused, we're old, so that happens.
The fees on a live auction at car week would net the Alfa guy less money. That's dumb😂
Werd! What do you think of that Alfa in general?
Fufu the Daab

Buyers pay too much on BoT.

JP sold a Jeep to Dennis a few years ago. That Targa would bring a whole lot more if it weren't such bad paint for sure. Great driver though, eh?
100%.
Great show today

The GT2 owner could fit your description but teh owner of that alfa could only be a true enthusiast, right? Who else could stomach looking at it?

@bidnerds who should be kissing who’s butt for the Viggin!? That was a rare car IYKYK! Can’t wait to get invited again!
