- Today I show you what I believe to be the BEST e drum splitter on the market for Roland e drums! These are the only splitter on the market that allow you to retain the choke function on your Roland cymbals! I also show you a couple of other cool features that set these ABOVE all the other splitters on the market. Click the link below to purchase these for yourself!

I agree.
Bought this a while back on ebay as well. I still use it for my TD17 KVX. I use the two crashes that came with the kit as a splash and china now. I split them and have the splitter sitting in the trigger-in aux.
I've noticed that on rare occasions when you play too quietly on the edge cymbal, the bow cymbal gets played.
Also, the only real issue I have with it, is that you can only choke one of them, being the edge cymbal (which of course then chokes both), but I don't mind, since it's the splash that I can't choke and it's not like you really ever choke a splash.
Also, you kind of still retain the dual zone mechanism for the edge cymbal. If you play bow on the edge cymbal (let's call it cymbal A), it will trigger the sound of cymbal B. If you play edge on cymbal A, it will trigger the sound of cymbal A as intended.
So basically, cymbal A is still a fully functional dual zone cymbal with choke functionality, but this splitter makes it so, that you now also have an additional cymbal B (or tom B) which plays the same sound as the bow zone of cymbal A and also gets choked if you choke that fully functional cymbal A. It's pretty cool.
I really hope they go back into production again someday. I'd hate to have them break without being able to get another
Thank you for sharing this video.
Thank you 😊 very educational needed this
Thanks this is what I’ve been looking for so I could add cymbals to my TD-27 module
Glad my video helped you out man!
If you want to add to the existing cymbals and this is your first addition, you don‘t have to use splitters. You can just use the three Aux inputs on the back.
@@hannesdrumss Additional to that if you have roland cy 13r (not works with 12) you get a second dedicated "bell" output which you can hook to another cymbal and whatever you assign to cy13 bell sensor also applies to that second cymbal
Great video! Been wondering
What splitter to use on my TD-12, I'll be on the lookout for them. On a side note what sticks are you using in this video? Thx man
I have the ebay splitters. I havent had the cross triggering like you showed. I didnt realize you lost the choke function though! I upgraded to a td 20 which has enough inputs that Im not currently using the splitters.
but will it wrk with alesis command modules?
The website is still up but I don’t see any on ebay. Any idea if these are available now?
Wait.. so if I use drum triggers (4 of them) and I split my SPD SX with normal Y splitters will it not work?
I have a td-17kvx2. I'm just a beginner drummer so I'm not worried about it right now but how many cymbals does a guy need? I'm thinking about picking up a cy-5 and using it as a splash or China. And then a cy-14 to use as something else.
hey guys, is it possible to use splitter to expand the alesis nitro module to add second bass drum?
Will this work for my millennium mps 850 drums?
Shouldn’t they have a 100 ohm resister ( I think don’t quote me on that ! ) between the two connectors! To limit the peaking on the signal to stop that ? Don’t know why I’m thinking that I seem to remember seeing it somewhere might have been on an earlier drum tec vid or something like that 🤔….!
Yes, you're right... The resistor will prevent draining between the signal due unmatch impedances...
Unfortunately, the producer has stopped producing them for now.
I'm having an issue where everything sounds choked no matter how hard I hit it.
What kind of cymbals? I’m having the same issue trying to use Yamaha cymbls
Awesome. I have td 15 looking to go up to 17. Do splitters need to be in aux port or can be in assigned drum or cymbal port? Do you need longer cables to expand placement of split?
I'm using a td17 too and the splitter company I got it from (drum splitters) says it only works with the aux and cr2 but I've got it to work with my t3 as well but there are some minor issues I haven't worked out yet but with the settings they can be alleviated greatly
So why are these better than Zourman splitter cables?
still not available ...I just found out about them ...bummed.
I'm a hard hitter on my Roland TD-6V so this is great! BTW it's Roll-land not raw-land!
Raw, raw, raw your baht gently down the stryme.
That fisher dude doesn’t sell them currently
So, we can't buy these anymore? Does anybody have the specs for them?
I have the splitter and I only got the splitter and the brochure. It's the same one that's still listed on mpfisher's website. I wrote another comment that explains all there should be to talk about it
Follow up???
Is it possible to put additional crash2 cymbal to roland td 07kvx, but keep the ride cymbal with 3 zone?
It should theoretically work, but keep in mind that if you do this, your ride bow will become a crash lol
What is the other splitter you use? is it the drumtec?
No. It’s one made specifically for Roland cymbals though.
Do you know anything on alesis compatibility?
i want to know too
The root cause of all these problems is that Roland (especially Roland) , and others, don't give us enough trigger outs on the module.
Heck even the Nitro has tom 4 and crash 2.
The other problem with Roland is the price!
We know they're good products but you cannot justify those prices. I have a TD - 11KV, but I'm in the process of buying a 2nd kit to leave at our practise room, I was going to buy a TD - 4, but in my country we only have the K and the KV - not the K2 which has a 10th cable on the snake for a 2nd crash, so now I'm buying an Alisis DM - 8 Pro which has 2 extra triggers outs, which are also splitable, on the module. 12" snare, 8, 10, and 12 " toms (single zone) and 14 and 16" cymbals with the option of adding 3 or 4 more cymbals or toms.
So, Roland's problems:
Less trigger outs than Alesis and other brands.
Hectic prices.
AND last but not least - using drum software with Roland (unless it's a brand new kit), you have to download drivers and it's a big hassle - not ONE pad is mapped and playable. 👎🏻
Alesis - all pads map out instantly. Except sometimes ONE pad's MIDI number might need changing.
To me these are deal breakers, I'll always have a Roland as my main kit. They are really solid, but these types of problems are starting to make e drummers look elsewhere.
(By the way I was amazed at he sound quality of the DM8, I had the DM - 10 and it was a piece of junk.)
One thing I really miss on the new modules is the individual trigger outs - with those you could buy a stereo 1/4" male - 2 x mono 1/4" jacks and away you go. Two pads from one.
Im using EZ drummer with a TD9 and it works pretty dang good, yes i had to dial it in but once that was done it was good to go. I agree on the trigger outs, should have plenty.

100K ohm resistor. one has it.... one don't.
So with resistence 100ohmios is better???
