    Yep... This track is perfect. A little note for you: u have to leave this for one night. Here's how: add this to a playlist and just play it on repeat. It will reloop by itself. And just leave it like that. It will be way better the next day.

    As you play this, your headphones will stop playing once in a while. The frequency will decrease as time goes by = better sound quality.

      ***** I probably only used this video over night one time. Not a huge difference but that's because I was to lazy to do it repeatedly. I'v owned my headphones for almost a year and used them about 3-6 hours a day. I'd say it takes a few months to get the sound at it's peak. You don't really notice it over time though because it takes a while. But I can tell that the sound has improved. If there's anymore questions just ask.

    Headphone burn-in is not a myth. The way I've done it was to listen to a track like this at slightly higher listening volumes over the first night. Then slightly higher the next night and so on. DO NOT do it at levels that will cause damage to the drivers. After the first night you can tell that it's not a myth because the levels will become higher without distortion and more clarity. For those critical of the quality of this recording it's not that important but what is more important is using the driver at different frequencies to exercise the drivers and wear them in. You can't just put a bass track in because it will stress the drivers and damage them. Burn-in does works better on larger drivers. Best wishes and have fun..

    • @tomaskn
      @tomaskn 10 лет назад +3

      ***** you're wrong, my beyerdynamic dt770pro's and ultimate ears superfi 5EB were terrible when they came out of the box. muddy bass recessed mids and unconvincing highs. burning them in took about 2.5H then they were much better

    • @harleymichael83
      @harleymichael83 10 лет назад +1

      You're absolutely right. The thing is the varying in frequencies at moderate volumes allows the drivers to fully extend and break-in. People have to think that the extension needs to be worked in a consistent manner rather than just blaring random music that doesn't give it the constant stress at specific frequencies. I did a 72 hour burn-in on a set of $30 Monoprice 8323 and they went from sounding from dull to impressive.

    • @Barneyjawells
      @Barneyjawells 9 лет назад +2

      It seems to be a pretty controversial topic but this article settled it for me. I don't think it makes a difference:
      www.wired.com/2013/11/tnhyui-earphone-burn-in/

    • @harleymichael83
      @harleymichael83 9 лет назад +1

      Think of it as breaking in a new pair of shoes. The material is stiff so it doesn't flex like it should.
      With a new pair of headphones especially with larger drivers they are very stiff and don't allow for proper, intended extension. Listening to music on moderate volumes doesn't work because it needs to be steady frequencies at a moderate volume. This track is great because it offers different kinds of frequency noise.

    Hoping this will make the highs sound less harsh on my Jlab Metal/Wood Hybrid IEM's. They've been pretty disappointing so far.
    I would do this with my Panasonic HTF-600's, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it. They already sound great and I don't feel like putting them down for a few hours.

    I just got my ATH M50x's yesterday. Your wav file sounds good. Could you please provide a direct link to your wav file? How many continuous hours a day would you recommend and at what volume level in % like 30% volume, 40% volume etc. would be best for this particular headphone. I hope you are an expert in this matter. Please let me know. Thanks.

    • @Teh1AnnOwnLeeByukk
      @Teh1AnnOwnLeeByukk 10 лет назад +4

      I'm not an expert on it, but I've been burning my M50x's for a bit. I have it at 60% (50% being my normal listening volume + 10% for a better burn in), but I'd never go any higher because it'll risk damaging my cans. It should be around that range, not too low or else it'll be pointless. My first pair I ran it through for 2 hours, then stopped, but this pair I'm just trying to get to 50 hours as fast as possible (50 being the recommended amount), repeating the video as long as I'm awake. Probably not a great method, but I don't feel like babying it by adjusting the volumes/changing tracks all day.

      Thanks for responding to my post! I think drivers require rest and would be better if you work them for 8 hrs continuously and then give it some rest. I plan to do it overnight for a week. That should cover it. I didn't know about the volume levels so thanks for the tip. I plan to use a playlist of orchestral classical music to burn in my drivers. That must easily cover the whole spectrum. I've also recently read that noises aren't good for your headphones. Of course you can choose what you want if you think it's safe. But it's just a hint your way. I agree with you. There's no need for adjusting volumes all the time. A playlist will cover you from manually changing tracks. Cheers mate!

      how much time it need to burn in with this?? im just gonna start

    • @alwayspete
      @alwayspete 10 лет назад +1

      Di3g0x
      I reached the conclusion that normal listening with your headphones provides you a better burn in. Just use orchestral music that covers the whole frequency range and enjoy them. If you are not a fan of such music, let it run at night for 6-8 hours, daily, for 2 weeks or so.
      Try it and see if there's a difference. I did that on mine and found that the sound has gotten more louder and clearer at the same volume levels.
      Just use the headphones to listen to a single song. After this never use them. Only use your headphones for burn ins. Burn in for a couple of weeks. Listen to the same song you listened previously and to find if there's a difference.
      Let me know in a couple of weeks! Cheers!!!
      Pete :)

    Am using this to burn in a new set of Doosl DS016 ear buds. Running this on and off at about 20% below a normal listening level. About 25 hours should be adequate. Fot the next stage will do about 15 hours of soft music (ie. the Carpenters), also at a reduced listening volume, to prevent damaging driverelements.

      Quiet music does nothing. You have to blast it for it to have any effect (which how much depends on the headphones). It will be at a level that sounds like the front row of a metal concert if you are wearing the headphones, so I advise not to do the break in whilst wearing them, unless you're just playing low frequency. Obviously you shouldn't put an amplifier on them that's way too big for them. They should not be making any rattling noises with the music.
      I turned a pair of Sound Magic E11 all the way up on an FiiO E10K overnight but I don't think it did anything noticeable to the sound. Neither did blasting Sennheiser HD25-1 off an Orange CR6 headphone out (which packs some punch I think they overamped the headphones out a bit on that I can barely pluck a string at full blast without flinching, can use the things as speakers off your head!)
      With a guitar speaker I just played some house music and watched the cone movement and if the bass started sounding woofy and distorted I turned it back. I found I could increase the volume over time as the components loosened up and the speaker neared its excursion limits - again turning it back if it stopped sounding nice.

      Ooh whoa, ooh whoa, ooh whoa
      You know you love me, I know you care
      Just shout whenever and I'll be there
      You are my love, you are my heart
      And we will never, ever, ever be apart
      Are we an item? Girl quit playin'
      We're just friends, what are you sayin'
      Said there's another, look right in my eyes
      My first love, broke my heart for the first time
      And I was like baby, baby, baby oh
      Like baby, baby, baby no
      Like baby, baby, baby oh
      I thought you'd always be mine (mine)
      Baby, baby, baby oh
      Like baby, baby, baby no
      Like baby, baby, baby ooh
      I thought you'd always be mine
      Oh for you, I would have done whatever
      And I just can't believe we ain't together
      And I wanna play it cool
      But I'm losin' you
      I'll buy you anything
      I'll buy you any ring
      And I'm in pieces, baby fix me
      And…

      NxG LexanTeh lol sry for being this late:p but I returned them, they sound amazing, construction quality is amazing too and are very confy but I could not use them more than like 2 hours straight because I use glasses and they start hurting on the back of my head (it's not the headset fault).
      I got a in-ear sheinneiser phones with included mic and I'm happy with them despite not sounding as good ofc

      Huzi37709 Sent them back. Picked up a pair of B&O H6 (2nd gen). Blows the AKG out of the water (IMO). Not quite the same stage width, but the articulation and separation are off the charts. The H6 also has a bit more low end. Add to this the fact that they are incredibly light and comfortable and you have a nearly perfect set of cans (for someone like myself...small head, looking for superior clarity, punchy low end and beautiful styling).
