I agree with you on every listed item. I’ve been minimal for over ten years. No polished nails. No artificial scents. No dryer sheets. Limited cleaning supplies. Watching you pick up your minimal home is very satisfying. This is the first time I’ve seen what you’ve done with your backyard! Amazing. THIS is where your time and money have been going! Wasn’t it just last year that you put in two little raised beds out in the hot, empty backyard? Love what you’ve done. What a beautiful place for outdoor living.
Yes to no artificial fragrance!! Since we ditched it almost 15 years ago I get an instant headache if I wash my hands at someone's house with the "smelly soap" brand. Yuck! So bad for our bodies!
Amen, it DEFINITELY is. It is accurate and true to the real definition of minimalism in my opinion 😊🎉❤ Plus, just well done and pleasant in all respects!
We too live a minimalist lifestyle. We have a capsule wardrobe (seasonally)mine is about 36 items, my husband is about 28 items.( He has a work uniform,so doesn't need much otherwise) and our son has about 30. When we are invited to a wedding or a special occasion, my husband and son hire a suit or formal wear and I too hire an outfit. I have even hire a handbag, as I only have 2. I have a straw bag for spring/summer- have had it 5years and a black handbag for autumn/winter, which I have had for7 years! Great informative video!
I love being a minimalist! So many less decisions. We also stopped eating out. You are right that it tastes better and it is more relaxing...no hussling about in traffic or waiting for service. Love your channel. Your tone and pace is relaxing and soothing. Keep up the great work. Your backyard looks lovely!
Great advice. I do have a Swiffer but I crocheted pads and wash them. I have used the same 4 pads for five years now. I also made some out of old towels.
@@Iloveflowers2024 I cut a piece a little more than double the width and long enough to make fold overs on each end. They work best to be doouble thickness. I seam along the long end and turn it, then fold each end in and make a pocket on each side . You can wash them forever.
@@poodlegirl55 Thank you for describing how you do it. I think I could do that. I have a sewing machine. Hey you should do a RUclips video to demonstrate how you do it. 😁😉
Thank you Shannon! I've been on a decluttering journey after moving into a small rental after selling our home. We just recently moved all of our stuff out of storage. We're a work in progress, I no longer buy home decor. I was a decor junkie, throw blankets, pillows, candles, cheap art, and knickknacks. No more! 😊
I enjoy your channel so much, your way of presenting is very calming & non- judgmental. I also enjoy the videos of you & your mom, as I am a similar age to her, she’s so funny.😂 I’m inspired now to embark on my decluttering journey so my kids won’t have so much to go through after I’m gone.
This is such a great video… Seeing you in the garden and on your patio while you talk about this is just perfect! Instead of spending money on temporary pleasures (eating out, pedicures, etc) how smart to invest in your home and garden. What a great way to spend time as a family, and enrich your lives by investing in your home rather than spending money on things it’s easy to do without. Bravo smart girl!
I agree with you on almost everything here. You are teaching your children to live frugally. I grew up in a home where we didn't have much money. I fared better than other people who had trendy clothes and etc, when times got tough. Creativity with what you have will get you through tough times.
Lovely to watch that, beautiful family, lovely to see your son drying up the dishes, sending love, help& happiness to your home& family. I have been decluttering for the past 2 years!!!& it’s ongoing ❤
I found this very interesting. Me and hubby do all these things too! It’s so easy to get sucked in by the hype, when really we don’t need any of it. We have been using up cleaning products, and I was shocked how much we had! Also, like you, I don’t buy makeup, and beauty products anymore, just what I need. Lidl here in UK do nice range of skincare at very reasonable price. We moved recently, and have drastically de-cluttered. It’s a lovely feeling being free of so much stuff. Thanks for sharing.
That is interesting that your friends notice, I guess the people that I hang around don't seem to notice that sort of stuff. At least no one has ever said anything to me. LOL
Even though the video is about things you’ve stopped buying (always inspiring to hear how other minimalists do!) I absolutely can’t stop looking at your garden! Wow! It looks so great now and what a change! I live in the south of Sweden so a quite different climate than for you, but I also love spending time working in the garden and creating a lovely garden for us to work and hang out in.
I fully understand it’s not a thing you do in the states . But have you looked into having a washing line instead of using a dryer? You will save a ton on you electric bill. Also your clothes will last much longer as well. Obviously it’s all weather dependant in the uk. But we are all happy bunny’s when the sun is shining and we manage to get it all dry x
I lived in NZ for a few years so I know all about line drying =) I actually hang a lot of my clothes, but we have a gas dryer so it's very cheap to run and saves me a lot of time.
your garden is becoming a real oasis..can't wait to see the final outcome - thanx for this vid - it really helps solidify the best reasons to look twice at what we do without thinking ♥
Great tips. I incorporate many of the same things. I do collect dvds movies, and I do some card making. I have a huge collection of TY Beanie Bears, lol. About 600 of them. But other than that, my entire home is minimal. I have a home for everything and I keep things tidy and very organized.
Hi Shannon! I loved this video. I pretty much do all you do to stay minimal. I have started to just clean with dish soap and water and I don’t use fabric softener anymore either. I really have not noticed a difference in my clothes to be honest.
for my swiffer I just made terry cloth sleeves that wrap around it and velcro shut so I can wash them and then re-use them, because I hate refills too!
This is what I love about this channel! I love to decorate a little, but I'm tired of all the hauls and trends that constantly tell us we need the newest stuff. Love Shannon!!
@@lb9549 I feel the same! I've stopped watching Haul videos, to avoid temptation in my simplicity journey. And because trends matter less & less, the older I get & the more confident I am about what I do & don't like. The only "hauls" I'm interested in now involve items gathered around the house for decluttering! Like the kind that Shannon & her Mom do periodically 🙂
Hi Shannon. Another good video. The artificial scents in candles etc. are not good for us (cancer causing agents). Also with the nail polish - I had a nurse at the foot clinic tell me that it's not good to wear it. Our nails are an organ too and they need to be able to breathe.
I love being a minimalist too! Being able to acknowledge "enough" is so important. By the way, your garden looks great! Can you do garden tour please??
Some stuff I stop buying was creamer, I use almond milk. detergent, I use baking soda + dr bronner. Great to hear your list, I gotta stop buying dryer sheets
Hi Shannon, I just discovered your channel today and the entire time I was watching I just kept saying to myself out loud, "Me too!!!" I was relating so much to what you were saying about the lifestyle that you've chosen to adopt and your personal reasons why and I love everything you're sharing, it's definitely a process and a journey and goes way beyond clutter but it's a whole body approach to your mental, emotional and spiritual health and mindset. I started my journey 3 years ago during a major change and transition in my life where I sold and moved from my 3000 square foot home I had lived in and raised my son in as a single parent for 12 years. It's been an extremely emotional detachment to go from "Our Home " to living in a 780 square foot second floor apartment. But I truly feel I chose this new journey to go on because my soul was ready for it. And I don't have regrets just every day I am learning who I am in this "New Space & Place " of this chapter of my life. Thank you for sharing, thank you for your honesty and I truly look forward to watching your channel. 🫶🏻🤗
Great tips, Shannon! I am with you on pretty much all of them. ♥ Also, not using dryer sheets is better for your dryer. They are actually not at all good for the dryer, something about clogging up the works and becoming a fire hazard. I have used the dryer balls for years and vinegar in the rinse as a softener.
Better still hang your washing outside! With that beautiful weather you have there, it would only take a couple of hours to dry! And save you money, not using the dryer. Unlike here in the UK - you have to pick the days you do your washing due to the weather! Or as today, hung my washing out, bought it in, when it started to rain. Then hung it out again, bought it back and and put it on the airer to dry in the end! I only use our dryer in the winter and NEVER put clothes in straight out of the washing machine, always half dry at least, or just to finish them off!
I loved this video. I'm a minimalist and frugal everything you don't do I also have not done in yrs. It's truly amazing how much you save on cleaning supplies using plain soap and water. I thought I was the only one that only had 1 purse lol. Your home and outside area are beautiful.
I’m using up all the nail polishes that I already have, and also all the lotions and body sprays. I will not purchase anymore until I have zero. I have two really good perfumes dolce and Gabbana light blue and a Versace and that’s all I am going to have until they are both gone. I also use dollar tree makeup and this works. The only expensive make up in my feeling to purchase is base and powder. I agree with not buying trendy decor items when I can dupe them. And the one thing that saves me a ton of money is not having a car and taking the bus. But I can walk to work which is a blessing and most places that I go to every day are walkable in my neighborhood. It’s not fun but it does save a ton of money. I am not a minimalist but I have tried to simplify things and that does save. My weakness is dollar tree and Walmart crafting section. But I’ve cut way back and I need to have a plan for that if I’m going to purchase it. Even small dollar items add up over time and they clutter. I get static electricity so for some things I use dryer sheets. Sorry this is so long but lastly when I do have to take the bus it’s $2.50 for a 24 hour pass here in Texas. So I try to run all of my errands during that bus pass time limit. I hope that this is encouraging for all of us trying to simplify our lives..These are mine and now I’m going to read some comments I’m so excited to see everyone else’s😀
I love your videos! Such good, practical advice. It was also so fun to see your yard and garden in this one. Can you do a garden tour video sometime? Thank you! ❤
I love your practical approach. These are such great suggestions for my lifestyle. It’s just being mindful. I’ve been watching your (and your mom) channel for along time. It has really helped me to pare down and eliminate stress. Thank you
LOVE 💜this, I too only have one purse at a time and haven't painted my nails in years. Thank you for sharing your list, great advice!! Love your MOM too 😍 Your Backyard looks beautiful!
Hi, Shannon! I've watched a lot of your RUclips videos and have enjoyed them. I share your desire to live simply and frugally. There is one thing I worry about for you. Although this is no doubt None of My Business, I'm going to share it anyway, in the hopes that it will help you and your family. I'm the mother of two grown sons. When they were little like yours, I kept myself so BUSY. I wish now that I had played with them, joked with them, and just plain hung out with them more. They were so hungry for time with me. In your desire for a clean, tidy and minimal home, please don't put cleanliness and tidiness ahead of closeness with your boys. You don't want them to remember you as the mom who was always cleaning and straightening up, but could never relax and just enjoy being with them. Before you know it, they will be all grown up and you may look back with longing on those precious times. I don't mean to criticize you and I may be way off base with these comments, because I only see you when you're tidying up in front of the camera. It's just that I see myself in you, and I want to give you the benefit of my experience. With love and all best wishes, Melanie
Hi Melanie, I completely understand that what people see in a video leads them to believe that this is what everyday of my life looks like and also that I am doing this all day. =) I am only sharing 10 minutes of my day and this video was actually filmed over a full day and another morning. I choose not to include my children in my videos or anything personal that we are doing. Mostly because I don't think it would be very entertaining lol. But know that I spend every single day with my kids, walk them to and from school every day, take them to classes and watch them play sports. We play games together, go to the library and read. We eat every meal as a family and I don't actually clean my home very often (besides regular tidying which my boys are doing with me a lot of the time) and monthly whole house cleaning. Time is still going by too fast and I wish I could freeze it so we could spend more together while they are little. =)
Shannon, I was so relieved to read your gracious reply. Thank you for taking the time to do that! I continue to watch and enjoy your channel. Best wishes to you and all your beautiful family--including your photogenic mom! Melanie @@shannontorrens1
You have a lovely family and home! We are much older but do some of the same things as you so since we want to be able to take care of our needs as we continue to age. No debt = freedom!
Great list! We are very similar in our no-buys. I have a couple tinted lip balms for when I go out but otherwise no makeup. And I like polished toes with sandals in summer. I love how minimalism has worked hand in hand with frugality for us for years. Your yard is looking great! Hope you’ll have a video on the transformation soon.
Great list, Shannon. I'm guilty of some smelly stuff...from lotions to candles and plug-ins. I can't help it. 🤭 I can't wait until you have your full reveal on your yard. It looks so inviting!! Nothing cheers me up more than seeing a ton of 💐 🌹 🌸 🏵 🌼 💐.
I've not used nail polish for decades, and it's SO much easier, and is FREE. I've never used excessive makeup either. Sometimes I see gals on YT decluttering their makeup, and they've got cabinets-full of it, and I wonder, "how many THOUSANDS of dollars does that represent?" Better spent donating to an animal or children's charity.
I stopped using paper towels as much. I know reley on cloth napkins (ikea). I use as many kitchen towels and dish cloths as needed (walmart). Same with wash cloths. I bought three packs (target) and use anew each shower. Now a pack of 8 PPtowel rolls last up to a year.
Great ideas! Not going out to eat very much definitely is healthier. I sure loved seeing your drought tolerant landscaping. Beautiful! You all have worked so hard and it’s turning out awesome.
I am becoming you Shannon 😮 😀 All the things that you said is true I’m trying my best to buy all the things that we only need And it feels good that I’m not IMPULSE BUYING anymore 😊 Thank you for all the motivation ❤ Calvin is always helping you 😊 Love your channel Shannon and I can’t wait to watch your backyard transformation ❤ Enjoy your weekend ❤
Hey Shannon, really loved how you put this video together - sharing DITL with a voiceover. I appreciated hearing the things you no longer buy and it has me evaluating some of the things I buy! I really admire you for cutting out the streaming services! I would be on board with that, but I know my husband and kids would think it was ridiculous! Haha! Thanks for sharing!💗
It's fantastic. Great video! And it's so nice to know that the way I have always lived, my friends, neighbours lived was minimalistic😅 Frankly, consumerism scares. Sure, it depends on the country you live in and it's fantastic that more and more American people choose minimalistic, simple life, which makes us lighter if not happier. Shannon, your house is gorgeous 🔆
Love! Love! Love! this😊 A perfect list 😊.. my list is identical. I have always been minimal and frugal. I haven't done a lot of these things ever or in decades. Like you are using up cleaning stuff, I am using up nail varnish.. on my toes for when I wear sandles in summer 😂 .. It will probably take another 5yrs until I need to replace the 4 I have🙂. I use 100% natural organic oils (citronella, orange, peppermint, lavender and pine) I buy from the chemist. They are expensive, but last. I put them in a little metal kitchen bowl with boiling water (out of kids reach, on shelf) to make our main living area smell nice, especially if we have guests (because we become blind to our own "family/house" smells). These 5 oils cover all four seasons in different combinations. We love doing "fake-aways" at home ..they are fun, healthy and taste great. Definately agree concerning baby stuff and over buying kids toys. My kids only get toys for Xmas, birthday, and Easter. We have set family budget, so if they want eg big expensive lego set, they put all money together and have one present. Both my boys save. They love it. My oldest saved to buy his first computer at 12yrs. He bought a table computer and just upgrades bits over time. My 10yr old is saving to do the same. It is SO FREEING when you don't feel you have to "keep up with the Jones" 😊... not that I ever did 😂! I always did things my way because I travel so much, which I love😊. I guess it just comes down to "what you value in life"... I never valued stuff.. just experiences and travel. I think the "American Dream" forced down our throats by western culture, which is basically to keep us "under control".. is more of a nightmare!.. I love that people are starting to wake up to this now.
I did the same with my son. He’s saved since he was five years old and I decided he’d get pocket money and anything he wanted he’d have to buy himself. It’s taught him from a very young age to save and be aware of whether he wants to spend his money on the item. He also waits three days before buying the item he wants. Often he changes his mind. He’s now off to college and has managed to save over $13000. When he does purchase items he’s sure he wants he buys quality that will last. At the age of 11 I signed his bank account over to him completely. People said I was mad! I explained that the only way we learn is to be trusted. We also have to make mistakes to learn. It was a big risk, but luckily it paid off. He’s very sensible now and has a good head on his shoulders.
I too don't like the scents and smells of household products, so I quit buying liquid fabric softener for the laundry. I switched to using distilled white vinegar in the wash (in a Downey ball) and wool dryer balls in the dryer. Clothes smell fresh and clean and are so soft and fluffy. And if something gets put away in a closet unused for a month or two it doesn't develop that weird, sweet, cloying smell. For the swiffer floor mops, instead of buying their refills, I use old bath washcloths and spray kitchen cleaner for a quick mop. Could also use microfiber cloths or even old cut up tee shirts. All washable and reuseable and work like a charm.
Shannon, I'll be starting today to do as many of those things as you're doing; it shall greatly decrease my expenses; I truly appreciate this valuable information. Thanks and God bless you and your wonderful family 🙏🌹
Really enjoyed watching your video. You have a lovely home. I really love the design of your garden. The less things you have you can keep the upkeep of your house. 🏡💖🙏
I enjoyed this video so much. Something a little different 💜 You've given me some food for thought. I never paint my nails but have about 20 colors. I cut a hole in the top of my swiffer mop solution and use a cork to stopper it up when i refill with my own solution. I use it only as a sprayer and then mop up with a regular mop. My puppy has accidents and this makes it easier to quickly spot clean. (I might be too lazy to bend over and spray from a bottle.) I love that you decorate with your own artwork. Your house is uniquely yours and very beautiful.
Dryer sheets cause cancer, so don't use those they are toxic ! For the swiffer, we have a dog, so I kinda need them, especially for under the beds, but what I do is vacuum the pads (dry ones) & reuse, maybe 10X or more. We reuse everything we can. No nail polish. We always use Dr. Bronner soaps. For scents in the air (thanx dog), I use Uncle Harry's essential oil in sprayer bottles(lemon & peppermint) and also keep spiders & bugs away. I've been at this kinda stuff for 30 years, and you are well on your way. Also, house plants help clean the air. I reuse bath water to water plants, as I only use all natural products & sometimes put ebsolm salt in a bath, which plants love on occasion. Oh, and so much more, lol . Keep up the fight it's so worth it !!!
Beautiful, Shannon ! I love your videos ! And yay ! Mom was there, too ! Reminds me of me … helpin out @ my daughter & son in law’s home… as I’m a Gramma , too … to their lovvvvvely 19 month old, Norah !
Wonderful content loved it ❤ I too stopped painting my nails 💅🏼 & am trying hard to cut down on the artificial scents. Candles 🕯️ I never bought but air freshener yes. I’m looking for a “green” alternative. Your garden looks amazing Well done 👍🏼 ❤
I love all of these ideas. As a single mom, I don't get my nails done, but I do paint my own toes in summer. I don't get my hair colored, but color my own. So I try to make compromises. I am working on weeding our home of clutter. But what is your "splurge" ? your yard? because it looks gorgeous!
i checked off 18 of the 20 items...we are almost a match !!! can i say something about your kitchen (which i love) and please don't be offended....your kitchen would look absolutely fantastic with different hardware on the cabinets and drawers. I hope you don't mind. I do decorating as a side job and always loved the field. Just my opinion, of course. I just found your channel and i love it.
Thank you for being here! That is the vintage hardware from the 1950's. Eventually we are going to completely redo the kitchen, so we are kinda waiting for expensive updates. =)
With you on this list apart from the eating out, which we do still do on special occasions. But that is about four times a year, and I think we enjoy it more because it is such a rare event!
We still eat out once in a while, but it is not a regular occurrence and we do it a lot less because of the cost and also our season of life. Taking 3 kids out to eat is not that fun or relaxing LOL.
Thanks for Watching! Check out 10 Things that Changed from Swedish Death Cleaning: ruclips.net/video/U3ZPdzct5os/видео.html I had the question of why I use a dryer? Answer: I have a gas dryer which is very very cheap. Our gas bill for the whole house is less than $30 a month. The time I would spend hanging our clothes for a family of 5 is not worth the possibility of saving a few dollars. I lived in NZ for a few years and we hung all our clothes to dry because the electric dryers were too expensive so I get that argument, but it doesn't apply to my situation.
Everything on your list is what I have come to a conclusion about as well (except the kid items! Mine are grown and gone) and haven't bought in years. I've pared down how often I use paper towels and small sandwich bags, and I also reuse both of these with the right conditions. While I was living overseas I learned that a microwave wasn't necessary (for me) so after moving back to the States I didn't purchase one.
I like your wide brim hat. My current hat has no brim at the back and was a big mistake as last summer I got sunburned back there so I've been looking for a hat with the brim all around. Don't forget to put sunblock on the backs of your hands every time you put it on your face. If you don't you will regret it!
I found that hat at Armstrong gardens and it's huge but I really like the coverage. I am learning the hard way to put sunblock on my hands now, I already have sunspots and age spots on the backs of my hands.
I'm with you on the smelly things. I prefer a clean no scent than a perfume enhanced anything. I don't use fabric softner, partly because of that reason & I don't want all the chemicals of the softner in my clothes & against my skin. I have a friend that has the clip car scents on her vents, I can't ride in her car the scent is so overwhelming it makes me nauseous. Same with the purse, I have one small one, only carries exactly what I need; use it till it's worn out. I haven't painted my nails in years, it's healthier to be natural and let them breath. I'm still working on the cleaning products, using up what I have and converting over to all natural homemade types. You have a good list of "don't buys".
Excellent video! I agree with you on all these points! I wish I had discovered minimalist living years ago when my children were younger. My youngest is now 9 years old and I have a house full of teenagers. Better late than never, though:). It's more difficult introducing these concepts to teenagers, I am discovering.
I love my apple slicer. I have 2 so if one is in the dishwasher, I have another available. The Pampered Chef one is the best...worth every penny. And to be clear...I mean the apple wedger, not the peeler/corer.
I never saw the point of them, but my husband has two, one for work and one for home and loves them. And I'm not going to argue, because it gets him eating fruit!!!
Wow I'm definitely not a minimalist but I do a lot of the things you have talked about especially with cleaning supplies soap and water I use the most ❤
I don’t like artificial smells either so I use natural fragrances, you can easily make a spray with Alcohol and essential oils for example I use dried lavender in my closet and stuff like that And I also like all sorts of aromatic herbs and plants that I maintain all year inside and outside
My brother came to visit and seen how much papeer towel i had and said "if u buy in bulk when do you ever get fresh air." But only when i need things allows us to get fresh air.
Wow! This is a really helpful list, but....I've lived a lot of my life in Asia and South America, and now I live in a large US city in Northeast. In the space this family owns, five or six families would be living in a lot of parts of the world. The definition of what is frugal definitely has a geographical component!
For sure, this is why I am sharing my experience as an American. I know very well compared to someone living in a small village in Africa we would not seem minimalist. But when you compare our home to most people I know we would be considered minimalist. It really is all relative. =)
This video just gave me lots of new ways I can have less. I get so tired of trends. Also the candle warmers, candles etc although I like them I tire of them and normally don’t just want them sitting on a counter. Great video as always ❤

Same. Leave this gs that you WANT them to have that will be sentimental.
This is such a great video…
Seeing you in the garden and on your patio while you talk about this is just perfect! Instead of spending money on temporary pleasures (eating out, pedicures, etc) how smart to invest in your home and garden. What a great way to spend time as a family, and enrich your lives by investing in your home rather than spending money on things it’s easy to do without. Bravo smart girl!
Love the hard scape in your backyard. ❤️
The combination of drought tolerant plants and rock is beautiful!
Enjoy all your new shade. 🙂
I agree with you on almost everything here. You are teaching your children to live frugally. I grew up in a home where we didn't have much money. I fared better than other people who had trendy clothes and etc, when times got tough. Creativity with what you have will get you through tough times.
Thank you for sharing =)
I have 1 purse too! I’ve had it a couple of years now. My friends always make fun of my 1 purse! Oh well…😊
That is interesting that your friends notice, I guess the people that I hang around don't seem to notice that sort of stuff.
Sweden is so beautiful! I went once when I was in high school, my ancestors are from Sweden and Norway. =)
Good for you! Good to hear of others breaking free from marketing world constantly demanding we buy more.
LOVE your channel. Such an authentic tone and style. Love your mum too! ❤
I was just about to comment the same. All that sunshine to dry naturally.
Your backyard is really coming together. Looks great and comfortable for enjoying outdoor living.
Fantasy self items have been my undoing! I’m getting it back under control :)
your garden is becoming a real oasis..can't wait to see the final outcome - thanx for this vid - it really helps solidify the best reasons to look twice at what we do without thinking ♥
A double “yes” to not buying things for the husband. It was a waste of money, even though it was a bargain. Not a bargain if he never wears it.
Your backyard is looking so inviting and family friendly. Well done!
Thank you very much!
It is so comforting to be content with what we have and not get suckered into the newest gadget.
I completely agree with this and I noticed that when I stopped painting my nails they are really healthy now. I hope you are doing well.
Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Shannon,
I just discovered your channel today and the entire time I was watching I just kept saying to myself out loud, "Me too!!!"
I was relating so much to what you were saying about the lifestyle that you've chosen to adopt and your personal reasons why and I love everything you're sharing, it's definitely a process and a journey and goes way beyond clutter but it's a whole body approach to your mental, emotional and spiritual health and mindset.
Thank you! ❤
Hello I hope you are having a good day, I am planning on making a before and after video when we finish the yard =)
I was going to ask for a garden tour also!
I love your practical approach. These are such great suggestions for my lifestyle. It’s just being mindful. I’ve been watching your (and your mom) channel for along time. It has really helped me to pare down and eliminate stress. Thank you
Thank you for being here =)
LOVE 💜this, I too only have one purse at a time and haven't painted my nails in years. Thank you for sharing your list, great advice!! Love your MOM too 😍 Your Backyard looks beautiful!
Thank you so much!
I just LOVE your channel!
I’m always excited for the newest video ❤️❤️❤️
Wow thank you Melissa! I hope you have a great day.
I love your patio. It looks so fun and beautiful.
Thank you! 🤗
Summer pots are great for giving a fragrance or seasonal smell in your house! All natural:)
"I have what i love. I have enough." Love this!
Looking forward to your livestreams and Q and A’s Hopefully it will come to fruition. ❤
Great video Shannon with lots of ideas of items we can do without. I love what you and Grant are doing with your backyard, it looks beautiful.
I am becoming you Shannon 😮 😀
All the things that you said is true
I’m trying my best to buy all the things that we only need
And it feels good that I’m not IMPULSE BUYING anymore 😊
Thank you for all the motivation ❤
Calvin is always helping you 😊
Love your channel Shannon and I can’t wait to watch your backyard transformation ❤
Enjoy your weekend ❤
Love that! Yes Calvin is my little helper =)
Hi Joy, thank you! Yes cutting the streaming services will not work for everyone, I am lucky that we are all on board to cut them for now. =)
U can use baking soda or vinegar in wash.
Shannon,
I'll be starting today to do as many of those things as you're doing; it shall greatly decrease my expenses; I truly appreciate this valuable information. Thanks and God bless you and your wonderful family 🙏🌹
I am so happy to hear this =)
Really enjoyed watching your video.
Thank you and what a great hack to save money with the swiffer!
Don't they sell non-toxic dryer sheets?
1:50 Is that a map of New Zealand behind you? Kiwi here! Love your channel. It's so nice to see actual real life in a video.
Yes! My husband is from NZ that is where we met =)
Love your landscaping!
Beautiful, Shannon ! I love your videos ! And yay ! Mom was there, too ! Reminds me of me … helpin out @ my daughter & son in law’s home… as I’m a Gramma , too … to their lovvvvvely 19 month old, Norah !
That is so nice you can be close and help =)
I have never heard you talk about being debt-free. Makes me love you even more!!!
Aww thanks, I don't mention money very often because I know this is such a sensitive topic for so many people. =)
I like o cedar mop, just clean mop dont really need replacements. I only use one purse too unless it wears out. Ive felt better getting rid of stuff.
There really is beauty in simplicity! What an awesome list! Have a wonderful week😊
Thank you! You too!
Yard looks great!!
Great list! I can check many of those items off my own list too... makes me feel good! 😊
❤those pink flowers @ 8:10
thank u loved this.. now I see where I'd like to move my life more towards
I love what you have done with your back yard! Dang, Levi is walking! Didn’t you just have him? ❤️🥰
i checked off 18 of the 20 items...we are almost a match !!! can i say something about your kitchen (which i love) and please don't be offended....your kitchen would look absolutely fantastic with different hardware on the cabinets and drawers.
Shannon, I appreciate all the work that you put into your videos and I appreciate that your version of minimalism isn't stark.
Shannon, your property is beautiful! I admire the way you and your family live. Thanks for your example.
Check out 10 Things that Changed from Swedish Death Cleaning: ruclips.net/video/U3ZPdzct5os/видео.html
I had the question of why I use a dryer?
That is awesome!
Your yard is amazing!
Your garden is looking great!
Thank you!
I stopped buying Clorox toilet wands. They're very handy, but I was tired of buying them.
I use essential oils for scent as well as for creams and sometimes medicine.
Wow I'm definitely not a minimalist but I do a lot of the things you have talked about especially with cleaning supplies soap and water I use the most ❤
Thanks for sharing!!
I use a swiffer on our boat and instead of the disposable things, I just use a regular washable microfibre rag on it.
Great video. I also stopped painting my nails
I truly love your channel! You have become an inspiration to me on my path to becoming a minimalist. Where did you get your metal clothes drying rack?
I think that clothing rack was from Ikea, years ago.
Thanks!
I love your garden...very cozy and creative❤
Shannon I would love to know what mop you use? Great video as always!!
I don’t like artificial smells either so I use natural fragrances, you can easily make a spray with Alcohol and essential oils for example
I use dried lavender in my closet and stuff like that
And I also like all sorts of aromatic herbs and plants that I maintain all year inside and outside
My brother came to visit and seen how much papeer towel i had and said "if u buy in bulk when do you ever get fresh air." But only when i need things allows us to get fresh air.
I stopped the nail polish too!
Great video - so many wise ideas.
You can take a rag and put it on a Swiffer and it works just as good as those disposable mops maybe even better
