This is an amazing organ with an incredible history. It must be extremely loud in this small concert hall. Paul, your American videos are helping American organists be more aware of some of the wonderful instruments that we have in this country. Thank you !
The largest pipe in the organ is actually behind the farthest left pedal tower on the wall (low C) while low D is on the wall behind the farthest right tower. They are on ground level and go up all the way up to a lil over half the height of the case and they are made of wood . Full speaking lengths 32s
Very beautiful demonstration, Paul, on this magnificent Walcker organ ❤❤ This demo perfectly illustrates your Simple Gifts and Toccata played masterfully on this pipe organ, dear Paul ❤❤❤
I looked up the organ's history after your premier of "Simple Gifts". It is fascinating. I suppose the organ fits into the "symphonic" category with its mighty sound capacity. The case and portraits on the pipes are awesome as well. (I also look forward to what you are planning for the upcoming Holiday season). From Chicago, U.S.A.
I saw an organ being built which was impressive! They built the chapel around the organ. Until this video, I truly didn’t understand all the stops and workings. Thank you so much!
When Joseph Ridges built the original organ in the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, he went to the east coast for research. He borrowed heavily from the physical design of this organ - back when it was located in Boston Music Hall, before it was moved to Methuen Hall. Note the visual similarities. They were also both rebuilt by Aeolian-Skinner under the direction of G. Donald Harrison.
Paul Fey is, in my humble O'PENGUIN, one of the very finest young organists appearing on today's world concert stage. If these Antarctic Birds were Irish, 'O'Penguin' would be their proper name!
Hallo, lieber Paul.
I will be playing this organ tomorrow. It is a truly beautiful organ, and the craftsmanship ship that went into building the organ case is absolutely amazing. Quick question, though: I heard there was a pedal that engages full organ. Do you know exactly where this is? Thanks! Great video!
Beautiful demo of this awesome instrument, Dear Paul! I must say that the Andover Organ Co. reeds on the Great are just not the right sound for this organ. Some smooth, blending Trompeten would have been far better; just my opinion!
Hi Paul.... We have some excellent organs in the west.... SLC Salt Lake City... (Mormon Tabernacle Organ) We have an excellent organ in Rexburg Idaho ( Ruffatti ) it has been and is lovingly cared for,,, I think you would be impressed in hearing and playing it.... HMU... Lets make this happen...
Another amazing one that’s in SLC is the cathedral of the Madeleine with a huge Kenneth Jones organ (77/79 ranks!). They post weekly recitals (search for the Eccles Organ Festival), and the organ is tonally incredible. And don’t forget the Schoenstein organ at the LDS Conference center with 160 stops. SLC is very lucky!

I first heard this instrument on a 1970s Telarc direct to disc recording by Michael Murray. It is good to hear it again. Thank you Paul Fey.

A beautiful instrument. Rich in variation of tone and dynamics. Thank you Paul for this informative demonstration.

A German organ master plays a very good sounding German organ. All this in America. Cool! 👍🏻👏🏻💪🏻🙏🏻

@yoshiunknown We can show you that tomorrow! 😀
@matthewbellocchio5877 thank you! I am going to need help with stops, so hopefully, someone will be there to assist.
@matthewbellocchio5877 and also, I heard they will be giving tours of the inside of the organ tomorrow. Is that true?
Wow! And it looks so good too.
