    Great video Tim - good reminder, I upgraded to a Cetus sieve after watching an earlier video - brilliant bit of kit, shame the don’t do lids 😂 I visited your shop and stole your idea to use a container lid 😉🤫👍. I must admit I wasn’t purging my backwash for long enough until I installed an inline clear pipe definitely helps and water clarity is spot ok 👍 🙏

    Hi Tim, nice helpful upload! Be interesting to see the new equipment to replace the tempests. And would it be possible to see just how good the water is with the bead and sieve and the tempests are before they get change out? Thank you

    Nexus 220 and Advanced bead working really well for me, supplied by you guys. Previous video mentioned experimenting with the flow rate through the 24 inch bead. Any advice please Tim. Maybe a bit slower than the manufacturers recommendation?

      I did a video on it. However I do need to do a few tests on mine. Just with new fish etc it’s been hard

    Quick question. What causes air to build up in the top of the bead?

    • @TimWaddington
      @TimWaddington  Год назад +1

      It can be air in the media or a leaking pipe sucking in air

    I’m running this exact set up but putting it back in the pond via bakki shower, I’ve also got two tempest in situ running from my skimmer, I’m really struggling with fines though. Any advice please Tim.

    What flow rate are you getting through the bottom drain into the Cetus? What flow rate are you running your pump at pls?

  • @adamrudge6480
    @adamrudge6480 Год назад

    Been working fine for me.
    Similar size pond around 4kgallons.
    Running the cetus and 30"bead can't fault it really.
    Running a 220 on the skimmer and also a tempest and little shower.
    Water is spot on 6" down and no fines.

      Yeah I’m seeing the same. I do think cleaning weekly is key. Will be trying something new on the skimmer lines shortly

      @Quality Nishikigoi Be interested to see what you go with on the skimmer line 👍.
      Quick question regarding the bead. What kind of feeding has it been able to handle. (Bio wise) As there's a fair amount of k+ in them (150 litres) on the 30".

    Looks a bit of a faff, bio chamber and a drum and I don’t have to touch anything for months at a time.

    • @TimWaddington
      @TimWaddington  Год назад +2

      That’s great. Enjoy. The advanced filter, when mature will take out smaller particles than a drum. Which I am seeing now.

    • @ces69
      @ces69 Год назад +2

      Wonderful! But just how many moving parts, pumps and motors are there in a drum that can go wrong, leaving the filter not working?

    • @Bowie.
      @Bowie. Год назад +4

      I chose this rig over a drum, purely from a reliability standpoint. So many potential points of failure in a drum and make no mistake, they will all fail eventually.

    • @JamieP.London
      @JamieP.London Год назад

      I get what you’re saying but my drum has been on for 3.5 years now and I’ve not touched it, never even had to clean the mesh.
