In this video I give you a quick run down on the the filter room. We get the floor and walls painted and plumb in the evolution aqua Cetus Sieve. I give you an introduction the cetus sieve and how it all works.
Building a koi pond out of breeze blocks is a great way to create a beautiful and functional water feature in your garden. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Choose the location: Select a spot in your garden that is level and receives plenty of sunlight. Make sure the area is free of any underground pipes or cables.
2. Mark out the area: Use stakes and string to mark out the shape and size of your pond. Make sure the dimensions are appropriate for the number of koi you plan to keep.
3. Excavate the area: Dig out the area to the required depth, making sure the sides are sloped to prevent collapse. Remove any rocks or debris from the soil.
4. Lay the foundation: Pour a concrete foundation to provide a stable base for the breeze blocks. Allow the concrete to dry completely before proceeding.
5. Lay the breeze blocks: Use mortar to lay the breeze blocks in place, starting at the corners and working your way around the perimeter. Make sure the blocks are level and plumb.
6. Fibreglass the pond to make it water proof
7. Add the water: Fill the pond with water, making sure the liner is properly positioned and secured. Allow the water to settle for a few days before adding any fish.
8. Install the filtration system: Install a filtration system to keep the water clean and healthy for your koi. This may include a pump, filter, and UV sterilizer.
9. Add the koi: Once the water is properly filtered and conditioned, you can add your koi to the pond. Make sure to acclimate them slowly to prevent shock.
10. Enjoy your new koi pond: Sit back and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of your new koi pond!

Lovely 5 star retreat for your pride and joy, good work fella 🎏
Cheers Bud 👍🏻
Wow! what a great setup. Your old pond is great but the new one is something else!
Cheers Simon. I can't wait to get it all sorted 👌🏻 Thanks for watching 👍🏻
@@dkoi-tv I bet! I’ve been a sub since the early days and it has been great to see the progression in your pond keeping.

"Don't need to keep reminding me every 6 months"😂
I can relate to that one.
Coming on nicely now.
I have to agree with cetus sieve, what a cracking bit of kit and design.
It's definitely the best thing I've put on my pond. So underrated tbh.
Mines on my bottom drain, so I clean off daily. Got a window in the filter house, so it gives me a great chance to view the koi without them clocking me. And start playing silly buggers.😂
I've also got that 20k vari from burtons, actually. Can't fault it and can't run it at 100% as the seive can't take it. This shows how much flow you get from it, as the cetus is rated at 18k litres. I replaced it from a ea 20k which flow wise was poor tbh. Flatout, and I think it was 12.5k litres, same flow on this one is about 100w less.
I'm looking forward to the fish going in. Enjoy your break as its going to be a long 4 years getting it finished 😂.
Hahaha all my pumps are pond expert from Burtons really happy with them. Always liked the sieve and yes very underrated. I just never had the room for one before... Thanks for watching mate. Have a good one 👍🏻

like one of those annoying friends on Facebook who never posts, but then constantly does when on holiday to show off 😂
@pattybrods8419 I lost my Mother to a long battle with Cancer which saw most of my weekends travelling back to Northern Ireland. I then lost my grand mother which meant more time spent back home. Then my mother in law unexpectedly passed away... Followed by my sister losing her battle to a very aggressive form of MS and only 48... That's the reason why I wasn't posting. With being in a dark place for a long period I didn't want to share that with the world and Koi was pretty much on a back burner for me. I finally felt in a head space to pick the camera up again and the new build gave me a reason. Apologies if the content has annoyed anyone this wasn't the intention. DB
@@dkoi-tv upmost condolences for your losses. Nothing meant personal. Was just a bit of banter
@pattybrods8419 appreciate you saying so. Apologies if anything was taken the wrong way. Yes been a rough period for sure for the family but there are others in the world who have it worse. Take care and have a good one 👍🏻
