- I’ve teased it on here for MONTHS, but now I can finally give the details on the matte sunstick I developed alongside the team at BOJ. With a satin matte finish, skincare goodies to level up protection, moisturize, and soothe, and a conveniently small packaging. Getting your SPF 50+ PA++++ protection has never been easier!
The limited edition Glow + Sun Set featuring my sun stick and the Glow Deep serum will be available through BOJ and Amazon starting January 16! I chose the serum because it features niacinamide (which the sunstick doesn’t!) and alpha arbutin to help target the appearance of pigmentation, hydrate, and give antioxidant protection during the day. It’s my favorite of the BOJ serums. The serum and the sun stick can be your full morning routine!

I was just wondering the same. How much is supposed to be reapplied?? How many strokes? Won't it disturb the eye make up if I reapply on my eyes??
@@dactaramma i found some answers for how/how much to apply! the American Academy of Dermatology says four swipes back and forth and rubbing it in is the best way to apply stick sunscreens.
For the eye makeup question: it will depend on the makeup, your skin type, prep, and the sunstick. I haven't tried the one in this video. In my experience, the sunsticks don't move my (pencil) eyeliner, but it does move my eyeshadow/take some off. Same with my blush, though it doesn't mess too much with my undereye concealer. Reapplying with regular cream/gel sunscreens have done about the same in my experience, though YMMV. I hope this helps!

What's the hate lately with Niacinamide ? It's such a master ingredient
I love the ingredient, but because it’s featured so heavily in so many products, a lot of people find their skin irritated. The sunscreen didn’t need it and I could work around that, so I elected to develop a sunscreen without it with the expectation the user would have niacinamide elsewhere in their routine if they so desired. No hate! Just strategizing since I get and see so many comments, requests, complaints, and opinions on it
@@SlayKin it’s great for lots of people but some people find it irritates their skin so it’s nice to have options without it
@super sensitive to Niacinimide so very happy that it’s not included. Def would not consider it a “master ingredient”either
@@SlayKinmany people have been hating on Niacinamide for years. Especially since almost every skincare product contains it. And it's not because it's a bad ingredient. It's just irritating on some people's skin. I have no problem with niacinamide, though, but i won't consider it as a master ingredient. It does nothing on my skin.

For the hot and sweaty summers, littllextra riceberry sunscreen is essential and with that, the riceberry face wash is necessary to cleanse your pores of dust and microbes which could lead to acne. It not only makes your skin clean but also does not make it too dry. I am loving those and would purchase them repeatedly.

For some reason I start to get little white bumps on the area of the cheeks everytime I start using niacinamide. I don’t know why but I get it whenever I use the ordinary niacinamide, the inkey list niacinamide and the axis-y Glow serum.

I'm so excited to try this! I've literally only tried one sunscreen stick and it was a flop. Honestly, I wish 2023 we could return to talking about niacinamide like the HG ingredient it is (up there with retinol imo). How are people even determining it's the niacinamide and not more common irritants like certain vehicle ingredients and preservatives with known allergenic potential? Or even nicotinic acid impurity? Suspicious =_=
I wish their sun relief with rice spf 50+ had a version without algae. Seaweed, salt, sea water, silicone and fragrance all break me out but I love rice, ferments, and probiotics.
What's the texture? How does it go on beard? Where can it be bought (I'm in Canada but other people might want to know for the US, UK and Australia)?

I’d like to have its Centella-free version because of my allergic skin. I was so happy about its liquid form, and devastated by this formula has Centella in it 😢 However, I could see that it will be people’s new fav. Congrats 🥹🥹
per Dr Idriss this (roll on stick) delivery system format generally results in a deal breaker application issue: significantly less than the amount required to reach benchmark spf is rolled on by most users, sometimes convenience misses a decisive point.
As a chemist, I can say formulation matters when it comes to the amount deposited, but I’ve tested this one out to 4-5 swipes gives you the advertised protection/deposits adequate amount. Also, these are primarily a means of reapplication.

Question:
How is removal - Water soluble? Or would it have to be removed with oil based cleanser + other stuff? (Since it has be reapplied multiple times, it's basically like creating a film on your skin)
I'm currently on some prescribed meds so my current skin is very sensitive to both sun and recently found that most US chemical/mineral sunscreen is aggrevating my already broken skin barrier since I have to remove it with cleansing oil + micellar + soap washeS 😢 So, really hoping this is easily removed without much need for all the friction.

One big question, Ramon: I saw your video and went out to purchase this sunscreen. It works as you claimed. Loved the powdery effect it left behind on my skin after application. But I have a concern. You also mentioned elsewhere in one of your videos that one needs to apply sufficient sunscreen to get it's full UV coverage. For lotion/gel types like Biore Aqua Rich, I know how much to squeeze out. But for BOJ, how many times do I need to swipe it on my face for a full SPF50 coverage? Like, once or twice (or more)?

I was confused to hear that I’ve never heard anyone say that it’s bad, I literally use a 20% niacinamide serum it’s the only thing that helps my redness, dose it cause some people irritation? I must know lol

When Cetaphil put Niacinamide in their formula I cannot use it anymore. Such a shame cuz I use Cetaphil for more than 10 years before.

I LOVE this sooooo much. But i just wondered what your thoughts are on a test that Dr Shireen Idriss (apologise if i have got the spelling wrong!) did....she did a test and used this stick, then passed a UV light over her skin. Apparently, according to her test, you have to pass this particular stick over your skin about 6 times (i can't remember the exact number. I will try and find the video to check)
But i do know that she had to do quite a few passes to be protected from the UV light.
It would be really helpful if you could give your opinion on it. I use this stick everyday for reapplication. X

WAIT...They did that ?! Since when ?? I own one of them (the pink one) and its perfect for my oily skin + humid/hot weather 😭
@@lorenzosawal9793 they did! it was towards the end of last year. i think their essence line is the same (the one with the different colored caps) but the ones that were all white with the pink/blue/yellow lettering have been reformulated. i loved the pink and blue (especially the blue) and now it's been ruined for me 🥲

Being a darker skin Black Man trying to do better with my skin care, sunscreens leave a really noticeable purplish/white tint on me after awhile. Do you know if this leaves that tint on darker skin tones? I'm really not trying to look like a dried out Barney out here 😅😂
Lol such an important topic! Firstly, follow @scamander14 bc he has an entire database of sunscreens and how they look on deeper skin tones. This does have the potential to leave a cast just due to the mattifying powders in it, but I’ve generally seen good success, especially if it’s rubbed in after application. But definitely check out that database
