There is nothing delicate about these babies. I've seen them fall out of trees, land on their heads on the cement and get up and walk away. Extremely resilient for their size.
Although resilient they are infants and they can get hurt by the things you mentioned. I've seen infants fall from a tree and not make it. Infants had been kidnapped till they starved. This is why the moms keep them close.
I'm sorry, Charlie Murphy, it was an accident. I was having too much fun. I offer you a truce. The stickiest of the icky. You want to smoke with the old boy Rick James?

Apparently there are people who don't think these Macaque monkeys are intentionally cruel. They definitely can be intentionally cruel to the point of killing the babies on purpose. There are, unfortunately, many RUclips videos specifically about their cruelty and even more information online. Sometimes it's the mother or other family or troupe members. Other times it's a member of another troupe. 🙁
While there are instances of macaques being intentionally cruel towards their own young, it's incredibly rare for the mother or friendly adult to do so and almost always stems from psychological trauma due to abuse from poachers and content creators. What we usually see as "cruel" behavior is usually just the mothers weaning the babies. It looks like bullying to us, but is necessary for the baby's survival, and what many of those videos don't show is the reconciliation period afterwards where the mother will give the baby extra affection. Definitely check out @themonkeysentinel if you want to know more about this stuff.
There’s channels that steal the babies from the mother just to keep them as pets and then do passive aggressive cruelty and hide it behind fake titles like “baby monkey bad and stay in rain” but in reality the person is intentionally leaving the baby monkey abandoned in a deep puddle of water outside their house while it stresses calling for its mother…and all the comments are basically laughing and berating the baby. Or they’ll make titles like “baby monkey plays with dog friend” and they’ll go get a stray village dog and put it in an empty room with the monkey to treat it like a chew toy for the viewers entertainment. Then when the monkey gets too big they just dump it off with whatever group of adult monkeys and they torture it. Then they’ll go steal another baby and do it all over again

@@DG-zv4bl no, mental health problems are not unique to humans, living in captivity can cause animals to be stressed or depressed which can cause them to act out violently.
ugh@ the title there is NO bullying here it's all perfectly normal and friendly, they are much physically hardier than human babies (though they do require 24/7 clinging and humans dont). Celebes are the least hierarchical least bullying macaque species. Hell, she didn't even get kidnapped, dragged by her tail and kept from her mum for hours (or days) once, which is par for the course with newborns in plenty of macaque species.
Oh goodness, when that one young lady seemed upset and went on about baby Celebes being “fragile” and “delicate” and “easily injured”, I wanted to reassure her and tell her that macaque babies are incredibly resilient and much sturdier than they look!
@@ginevragali2981 That one lady probably know more about these animals than many on here do. Many on here just dont like the fact that these experts dont blame the infants for their plight.
There was once a young goblin by the name of Daniela that was born to a troop that really loved n cared for her. Daniela had an aunt DeeDee who specifically gave her much attention. DeeDee would take Daniela on vermin drag races all over the park in which they lived. I see no such love here like shown in the troop spoken above aforementioned.
I'm not a zoologist, or a biologist of an kind. but the "rank" here feels very loosely held and more of a matter of tradition than true matrilineal rank. If that mother can be pushed around like that, regardless of the fact that the equivalent of a hurricane full of breastmilk for the kids, just happened for the females, no alpha sits with the highest ranking female with a baby all day, I understand the lack of perimeter guards in a zoo, but the alpha should still be front and center with the matriarch's family positioned with the kids as top priority and then squashing any fight Her Majesty cannot handle. This entire social system is jacked, and with hormones pumping, again def have no expertise here, but wouldn't this situation be prime for a matrilineal overthrow? Especially since the others know HRH mommy and Princess daughter get kicked to the bottom of the heap and bingo, baby now belongs to whoever won the big girl fight.
