If you want to know the truth, read the previous and next verses about "helper" as well, because before and after this verse explain what "helper" means. You know it, because it remains with you and is in you. " it is clear this helper can not be an other prophet or a human because it says the world can not see it and can not receive it. so who is the helper? Jesus indeed spoke of the coming of the likes of Mohammed in the same gospel of St. John he quoted but not the verses he quoted. All those verses he quoted refer indeed only to the Holy Spirit who eventually came ten days after Jesus ascended to heaven as seen in Acts 1:8. Jesus left the world 40 days after pass over, the Holy Ghost came at Pentecost which is 50 days after pass over, just ten days interval. Yes the Holy Ghost was already among them but they were not baptized in Him untill that awaited Pentecost experience as narrated in Acts 2:1-4. All these couldn't be referring to Mohammed who was not born yet till over 500 years later, no. The only thing that Jesus said that captures the coming of the likes of Mohammed is in John 16:2 where He said time is coming when those who kill Jews and christians will think they are serving God. Yes this fits Mohammed because he came with a sword and killed many. What kind of comforter is he going about killing innocent people who rightly refuse to believe that he is a true prophet of God. Even Mohammed himself did not believe in his prophethood nor in the angel that visited him. I am just confused because Dr Zaki Naik and Ahmad Didat are very educated, respectful and pious persons, I would not think that they lie, maybe they just made mistakes, but if so why no one proved them wrong during debates, I can't tell for Dr Zakir Naik, but I have watched several debates of Ahmad Didat, like the one with Swaggart and Shorrosh and to my humble opinion they lost those debates because they couldn't beat his arguments. Jesus indeed spoke of the coming of the likes of Mohammed in the same gospel of St. John he quoted but not the verses he quoted. All those verses he quoted refer indeed only to the Holy Spirit who eventually came ten days after Jesus ascended to heaven as seen in Acts 1:8.
Jesus left the world 40 days after pass over, the Holy Ghost came at Pentecost which is 50 days after pass over, just ten days interval. Yes the Holy Ghost was already among them but they were not baptized in Him untill that awaited Pentecost experience as narrated in Acts 2:1-4.
All these couldn't be referring to Mohammed who was not born yet till over 500 years later, no.

Even Mohammed himself did not believe in his prophethood nor in the angel that visited him. So much so that Mohammed tried several times to commit suicide but was forced by the same angel to continue the work. But many Christians say that this prophecy about the comforter to come, refers to the Holy Spirit. Now if we analyse the Prophecy clearly mentions in the Gospel of John Chapter 16 Verse 7 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come-“ The Criteria for the comforter to come is that Jesus Christ (Peace Be Upon Him) should go, if he goes, the Comforter shall come. Only after he departs he will send him. So the major criteria for the comforter to come is after Jesus Christ (Peace Be Upon Him) departs. From the Bible we know that the Holy Spirit was already there before Jesus Christ (Peace Be Upon Him), He was there in the womb of Elizabeth, He was there when Jesus Christ (Peace Be Upon Him) was born, He was there in the feast of Pentecost. So surely this prophecy cannot refer to the Holy Spirit. It refers to No one, but the last and final messenger, Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). It’s further mentioned in the Gospel of John Chapter 16 Verse 12-14

Hello, guys, I have no intention of debating with you because nor I have good knowledge about Christianity neither about Islam (even my English is not that good, so I apologise in advance). I am just confused because Dr Zaki Naik and Ahmad Didat are very educated, respectful and pious persons, I would not think that they lie, maybe they just made mistakes, but if so why no one proved them wrong during debates, I can't tell for Dr Zakir Naik, but I have watched several debates of Ahmad Didat, like the one with Swaggart and Shorrosh and to my humble opinion they lost those debates because they couldn't beat his arguments.

That's right, Dr. Naik. Jesus said that. If Jesus is referring to Muhammad as the "Comforter," does that mean Jesus sends Muhammad? Who would that make Jesus, Dr. Naik?

Read the whole passage: in John 14:17 the world "neither sees nor knows" the Paraclete/Spirit of Truth, but he will "dwell with you and be in you" (ie Jesus' original twelve disciples--was Muhammad ever "with or in" them in a way that would comfort them in Jesus' absence? No). The Holy Spirit was *not* "with and in" Jesus' original disciples in the sense that Jesus was then promising up until after Pentecost, which was *after* Jesus went away (see John 8:39).

In what sense would the Spirit of Truth glorify Jesus? Jesus, in John 16:15, says that "all that belongs to the Father belongs to Jesus." Could this be said of any mere prophet, Dr. Naik? Of course it couldn't.
If you're a Muslim, I challenge you to read the conversation Jesus has with his followers across the entirety of John chapters 14-16 and look at what Jesus says in those three chapters. He says many things about his death, his identity, and the identity of the Spirit of Truth that blatantly contradict Islam. The only holy book that glorified Jesus as Allah's messenger and his servant is the Qur'an. In fact, the image obtained from the Koran of Jesus is an extraordinary image of one of the most important prophets of Islam. The Paracletos is identified with the Holy Spirit. Moreover, in all of the following texts. Jesus is talking to the apostles. He says that the Paracletos will teach the apostles all things. Did Muhammad do this? Of course not, he was born more than 500 years later.
