  • Welcome to our review of the Panda Shiitake HP which I have been riding in as a 6'1 x 20 1/8 x 2 9/16 - 34.1
The Shiitake HP has been a lot of fun across a variety of waves, but mainly when waves have been a little bit bigger and a little bit better - head high and over head.
    From www.pandasurfboards.com
A slimmed down high performance version of the shiitake for those guys that want more of an everyday board and don't want a midlength while still maintaining all that speed and flow. We have made a few changes other than just the dimensions and foil. T
he biggest adjustment is the concave in the entry of the board, we took out the vee and put in single concave which helps give lift and quicker get up and go on the take off. This gives more of a shortboard feel.
This board is still designed to be ridden with some length but is very customizable, So for example im 5'11 158Lbs and i ride a 5'10 LRS for my regular shortboard but for this model i would go between 5'11 and 6'2 depending on the feel i'm after and the waves i'm riding.
The longer you go the smoother and and more drawn out its going to feel. This board also holds pretty good in some bigger waves. It's sweet spot seems to be shoulder high to double over head.
Thanks for checking out the review and be sure to like, subscribe, and maybe even share...

Craig you're on fire these days with content ....... 10K subs let's go!
Best surf day on any video thus far!
Love the retro airbrush fade ....... Wish more modern day boards would add this flair on all like they use to back in the day.

Had two Kane Garden twinzers, 6'8" and a 6'10"
Bought them both second hand. The 6'8" was a magic board. Wore it out. Would love to dip my toe back into the twinzer world again.

Board sounds really fun. How does it compare to the Bobby Quad and FW Seaside? Which would you recommend as a daily driver for an intermediate surfer?

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  Год назад +1

Hey! Very different to the Bobby Quad, and I haven’t ridden a Seaside…
Yeah, I think it could be a daily driver - pending on sizing, think of it as a versatile shortboard.
Mine was a tad bigger, so felt it was for bigger/better stuff. Had it been around 5’11 x 32L it would be a super versatile shortboard ✌️

Potts rode Darcy surfboards twinzers it would be great to do a review on one of his that was the first time I saw one

I’m not sure Darcy shapes many boards now?
Last I really saw of them was Asher Pacey and Layne Beachley riding them, but that’s the best part of 20 years ago…
